This NEEDS more views, bro i loved hello neighbor as a kid but as i got older i realized how confusing and corny it was, and the books made it even worse. This take is much better and would've probably been a competitor with little nightmares if this is how it was actually written.
I never payed much attention to Hello Neighbore but this rewrite is very interesting. At first I wasn't so sure about the idea of the house being alive part but it all came together in such an interesting way I def would have been much more interested if the original game had this story.
I adore this comment so much, I’m so happy to know that I managed to expand on the house being alive well enough for you to like it, I appreciate this! 🧡✨
This version would've been much better than what we actually got. I kinda wanna make this into an actual game, though that'd take a lot of effort and I already have several projects I'm working on at the moment.
it isn't much horror for me as it is surreal. sorta like children in the sky or very little nightmares in tone. you're exploring a world vividly unlike your own, and yet familiar in many aspects. unlike both, there isn't really much of a villain, more of a unfeeling ghost. a somber, endless, yet peaceful grass field feels like a depiction I can concur with. it's very beautiful. keep at it
This is great but I’d like to save the original version. Keep the regular looking suburban dad kidnapping kids (probably killing them too to tie loose ends). Maybe act 1 take place on Halloween (maybe during the 70s-80s because that was the highest kidnapping rate) and he lures kids into his house to kidnap them. The main character is a victim who escapes but the neighbor leaves town before getting caught and burns his house with the kids in the basement. Years later the main character moves to a neighborhood where the neighbor lives too. He recognizes him but the neighbor doesn’t recognize the player. He has to collect evidence in his house to get the authorities to lock him up but also wants to get the kids out of the basement.
bro how does this only have like 4K views?? Like I personally really like this version more! It seems like you actually put effort into it and put in a storyline in it for it to connect to the audience, unlike the original which gave little to no story at all.
This is so cool! It really shows that hello neighbor had a lot of potential to be something good, also i like how it kinda took some inspiration from little nightmares bc that's my favorite horror game EVER :D
I feel like a concept is a bit messy and I think there are some pretty important plot holes: Like why all the people that go to this house decide to become the part of it? or if they are killed by the house than it paints both the neighbour and the other inhabitants in much less positive light while not mentioning it in the story in any way. - it probably could be solved if instead of mansion it was some sort of "place for troubled souls", or maybe if the events in the house reminded people of their worst moments pushing them into escapism --> or well something completly different Another thing is that if I understend correctly Staff are both the enemies that try to harm you and NPCs you can interract with. What exactly would cause this change of heart and how to indicate it to the player? -> we are breaking to their home so playing the house elf probably wouldn't be enaugh. - moreover, you are a kid that parents are proably worried about that is running around in a dangerous house of a random men. No matter how helpfull you are I doubt they would let you roam free, even if it's just to keep their job. ---> and if you are not a kid than you are a bit more helpful burgral and that doesn't call for the warm treatment also why would anyone in their right mind go around making repairs in the house that not only isn't yours, but also activly tries to kill you? I feel like maybe limiting the interactions with the staff and instead just getting the memories upon touching the objects would help, or having like one old staff member clearly designated for explaining stuff (but that would involve a lot of annoying backtracking with every single object) It also would be nice to explore a bit how would the house try to stop you, and why wouldn't it just close the door of one of the rooms you're in (or how to get out of these kind of situation) I feel like the tragedy of the Owner happening outside of the house is a bit "out of theme", but it is just a personal preference -> I probably just really like the idea of finding the rooms where each of family members died in some unfortunate circumstances (kinda Edith Finch vibe) or finding the one dirty hidden room with some candels and memorabilias. I still liked your video a lot and it was a very creative way to approach this game that really got me thinking. So I also had quite a bit of fun writing all of this : > Well thanks for reading, and thank you for a really nice evening : 3
I love the idea of this re-write certainly better than the game we got. Only issue is I'm not sure if the title "Hello Neighbor" would work as well. Like it desn't fit the theme of the game itself, it'd be like calling a movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and instead it's like Poltergeist. Like I could see this game having a title called "The House That (insert name) Built," as it would tie into the themes of this house being alive, a collection of the lives of those who serve the home owner, as well as a collection the home owner made as the house changes depending on the ending you get
Same, honestly! But that’s mainly because the real game seems so hard! (Since you have to stack so many boxes on top of each other) 🧡✨ Thank you! I appreciate it so much
ive been on a kick of watching all your rewrite videos, how have i not found your channel before!!! you have some wonderful ideas and media rewrites are something i want to see more of. i tend to do it too often myself 😅. love the art too!!! i will be subscribing and checking out more of your content :]
Tbh, the maid from this rewrite is what I'd imagine Mrs. Claus to look like if she was in rise of the guardians (just more festive). She and Nicolas Saint North would be quite the couple, Lmao
I want desperately to play this version. I like the og Hello Neighbor, but I will admit the concepts and it's execution confused me. This I understand completely and would love to play, or watch others play.
This was such a good rewrite, it’s honestly so disheartening that the original game’s storyline was such a gutted form a story. I really am enjoying your work! So glad that I found your channel, you have such a way with rewrites. Keep up the good work, thank you for such good work. You’ve earned a fan
I honestly like this version more, instead of a dark and horror it focuses on more of the mental side
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed planning it out, it was really fun thinking up the mental things.
I agree
dude if you change the name this becomes just… an entirely separate game. one i’d certainly like to play!
HELL YEAH

I love little nightmares so much, so this is an honour, thank you! Also I didn’t realise there were Hello Neighbour books 😭!
@@Elmushterri Oof.

You should add a secret ending where the neighbour calls the police because you broke into his house
Fr.
This version would've been much better than what we actually got. I kinda wanna make this into an actual game, though that'd take a lot of effort and I already have several projects I'm working on at the moment.
This should honestly be it's own game, the way the atmosphere changes in different rooms and different endings is a really cool concept.
I like how the “what I like” segment was literally 3 seconds long 😂
it isn't much horror for me as it is surreal. sorta like children in the sky or very little nightmares in tone. you're exploring a world vividly unlike your own, and yet familiar in many aspects. unlike both, there isn't really much of a villain, more of a unfeeling ghost. a somber, endless, yet peaceful grass field feels like a depiction I can concur with. it's very beautiful. keep at it
your story writing skills never cease to impress.
Bro I love this concept of the game sm 😭❤️
Thank you so much, bro! 😭😭🧡🧡✨ I had a lot of fun planning it out!
@@Elmushterri Hi! :D
I love this concept!
Honestly I could really see this as a game, like even as an original game

Very amazing! I would love to play this version of the game
Can I just say that I absolutely love you art. I wish the game had this aesthetic
"Yes MatPat, you should totally reply to out DM :')"
THATS WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OG GAME
i wish this version was an actual game i would love to play this
this has actually inspired me to do my own little rewrite :] thanks
Really great video! So proud of u dude :D
A snapcube dub of this would be beautiful

I love the fact you used Gabriel Agreste.

What happeneds if you pick “Np, it hasn’t” in the first diolouge option with the neighbor.
I've never actually watched Hello Neighbor game plays but I was considering going into the fandom. But I think I'll go with this version instead-
That caught me off guard with the idea of a Little Nightmares Hello Neighbor feel-
(Since Little Nightmares is my special interest)

You really made it as far from Neighbor and made it just Break into rich man's house to talk💀
bruuhh you're so underated
Hold on u have like hardly any subscribers wtf???
You deserve way more like bro this is 100k subscriber type quality right here have my sub
Awesome and cool! :)

I love a living house story
Highkey love this?!
God I wish the was an actual game I’d have so much fun
Broo this is such a cool concept and I would love to play it as a game
U need to make a game based on this concept😅
Y'know, if someone (like you, an artist) worked with me (a basic coder)
We could make this a real game!!! Im just a bad artist
This would work well as an 8-bit 2D game I would think
Would you be OK if someone one day(not necessarily me) made a game based off of this?
This was such a good rewrite, it’s honestly so disheartening that the original game’s storyline was such a gutted form a story.
