Front Man _was_ a previous winner. In the last season, Jun-ho saw his name in one of the past record of players. He's also aware of the organ trafficking but doesn't seem to care. He only stepped in when the pink soldiers were in cahoots with one of the players who was a doctor and they were feeding him information on the next game.
So for anyone who didn’t know, the actor who plays the Front Man/Cop’s Bro/Player 001 is the same actor who played Storm Shadow from the G.I.Joe films! So yeah, no shit this guy knows how to fight and do other cool shit. He also played an assassin/hitman in “R.E.D. 2” with Bruce Willis.
He was also the lead in the Korean series "Iris" in 2009 and the actor that plays Thanos is in this was also in that one as well 😄 At the time, it was the most expensive Korean drama to produce. Saw it at the time and I thought it was a pretty cool crime/action kdrama.
7:27 My goodness how many reactors are gonna forget that YES Front man was a previous winner. Remember in season 1 when the cop brother looked in the list of previous winners? HIS NAME was on there.
Not just that, but his whole situation prior to entering the games has been discussed by the policeman brother and their mom. From the w8fe's terminal ilness to her surprise pregnancy, the bribe, the scandal and the firing, wife's death. The Frontman essentially tells the actual story of the past version of himself and thus can tap into genuibe emotions. Like with Thanos, mentioning his child really was triggering on some level.
I love that the show this season is tying a lot of contestants reasons for being there under the same massive incident of that one guys crypto scam. Makes it a lot more realistic that it’s not like gang members and corporate fraudsters, just a topical situation of everyone falling for the same scam
Makes sense in lore too like how they got Gi-Hun's childhood best friend in the last one. They intentionally get people who know each other for the entertainment of the VIPs.
To their credit, they did search for months for a trans actor but Korea being a conservative country still has issues around LGBTQ so there was basically no openly gay or trans actor that they could've cast.
@@AlessaParker They could've gone outside Korea, they had Ali last season and could've found a non Korean and wrote in that they were an immigrant. Them being able to speak Korean would be another hurdle though, it's just unfortunate cuz it really undercuts the thesis of the show imo. The whole show is about exposing the problems Korean people, and people in general really, face financially, and how these problems are systemic. But in order to portray how trans people are affected in this oppression, they participate in the oppression by not hiring a trans person. I can't say if I would've preferred them to cut this storyline or not, just pointing out how fucked it is that even in trying to do trans people justice, trans people still get fucked over.
@@chloec4009 While I definitely think it would have been preferable to cast a trans actress, considering the conservative nature of Korea at this time, it was likely extremely difficult to find a legitimate actress to portray the role Just the nature of the country at the current time. I will say, I think the actor they chose portrayed the issues in a truly tasteful way that represented the struggles that I have to imagine what a lot of Trans folk go through Obviously, I can’t speak for the Trans community but I think it was really well done it honestly might be the first interaction to a healthy depiction of a trans person for a lot of people, which is especially important in a time when that community is subject to such hatred and discrimination Squid Game got my trans phobic AF family to actually reflect on the struggles of a trans character and I have to imagine that it could also help those who struggle with their own identity issues better understand themselves. That’s good representation imo, even if it’s not one-to-one to the Trans experience
She's a Vtuber to pay for her cancer treatment; being a vtuber means she can stream all day on that grindset in between naps, right out of bed. She's doing a lot better now but the format stuck. Before her illness she was a competitive-gaming commentator, iirc The Azu guy is her editor

He was winner of 2015 game
Not only did he win.. and got the money to save his wife……. But she and her unborn kid died before he got out.
He actually doesn't sanction the organ harvesting since he sited that as something he was killing the other soldiers from last season for.

You mean the one who was supposed to kill his brother but was retconned to be alive in this season because fuck continuity
Front man won, his brother found the documentation when he was sneaking. And then the front man came in and they had the cat and mouse scene.
Alicia simping for Thanos is something... 💀
Battleship was in the real Squid Game reality show that Netflix did lol

Yeeaah, Se-Mi is ridiculously hot lol I had the same reaction 😂
Anyone noticed the youtube URL says HATE in capital letters lol 😂
120, the trans character, really is the MVP of this season, I just wish they cast an actual trans woman

Yup I agree but honestly I’m just happy I have any sort of rep in Korea

Hyun-ju is the trans character we should've got in the 2000s.
The Azu Picked Code Word is "REDLIGHT"
Front man was storm shadow in the GI JO movies and did those action scenes
13:02, he should've said "games like Buck Buck, oh and Squid Game too(two)(2)" that way he would've said the Full title.
Absolute cinema ✋🙂↕️🤚
6:58 You just gave Netflix the idea to make Squid Game 0
11:17 Not gonna lie, I screamed out of fear when I saw that shape.

This is my first time discovering this channel. Is this AI or are these real people talking? Not trying to be disrespectful. I'm just confused.
They're Vtubers. Real people with a 3d avatar matching their movements.

She's doing a lot better now but the format stuck.
Before her illness she was a competitive-gaming commentator, iirc
The Azu guy is her editor
