As a young man in my country, Mehmood SIR, was always our comic relief in the movies. If he had to do a piece of serious acting, he did that too, really well. That was a remake of Tamil movie Server Sundaram by Nagesh. mehmood copied lot of roles of Nagesh in the Hindi version. Pyaar kiye Ja, Bombay to goa etc.,

There is another reason for Mehmood being upset with Amitabh. Mehmood kicked out his brother Anwar Ali from his house. Anwar Ali went into utter financial distress, it was Amitabh who helped him out of the way and made him producer of the Khuddar movie. The movie was a big hit and it strained the relationship between Amitabh and Mehmood. Mehmood didn't like Amitabh helping his estranged brother Anwar Ali.

Amitabh Bachchan was a tenant for 11 months at the Mehmood Outhouse from 1967-1968 and again from 1972-1973 (4 Months). Mehmood acted and directed Bombay to Goa in which Amitabh was a lead actor.
One of the Greats not only of Indian Cinema but also a great Indian. Long may he be remembered in our hearts as someone who made us laugh and brought smiles to thousands. As for Amitabh how will he be remembered.

"It was Mehmood bhai who always predicted big things for me, even when I faced rejection on a daily basis. It was he who gave me the lead role in Bombay To Goa, much against severe criticism from the entire film market. When I was depressed with no work, he asked Chakkida, Mr Pramod Chakravarty, the very successful and important director of the time, to sign me. I got a signing amount of Rs 5000 for that and even though the film was never made, I know how morale boosting that moment was for me. All because of Mehmood bhai. He was the most generous and kindhearted person. He kept his entire family under his wing and looked after them as one big fraternity. To me he was the most talented actor that India had. No one has been able to match his sense of comedy. In his heyday he, the comedian, was the hero of the film, the leading man - a feat that has not been repeated since. His was a God-gifted talent, one that has never been emulated to date.
He was the most excited when success came to me. Much before I even started getting work he had coined a phrase for me - Danger Diabolic! And always referred and addressed me thus. I have no idea why he coined those words and I never asked him. After working with the legendary Raj Kapoorji he’d asked him to part with something that was his personal possession. Rajji had given him a green coloured half sleeved pullover. That had become Mehmood bhai’s greatest possession. On seeing one of my performances later on, he came over and gifted me the pullover in appreciation. I still have it with me."

I give u two incidence in favour of Mahmood. First when Kishore Kumar died on 13 oct 1987, It was only Amitabh Bachchan who was nt present at kishore kumar funeral. Everyone was shocked .Amitabh Bachchan didnt came to see Kishore last time..Second, Kadar khan, who said in an interview tht just becoz of addressing Amitabh Bachchan as Amit'in front of a producer, he changed his mind for Kadar Khan later on which makes differences between two. It was just the selfishness and attitude of Amitabh Bachchan..
All success of Amitabh Bachhan is because of KISHORE KUMAR. Songs sung by KISHORE are back bone of AB films otherwise he is nothing.Ek hi style ki films bana kar logo ko bewkoof banata raha hai.
