Ghana is becoming a hub for education in West Africa/Africa. The govt/ authorities should LOWER the fees for international students, offer more PRACTICALS/hands on experience, introduce state of the art technology, introduce quality education etc etc. We should reduce the fees and make the learning environment conducive for everyone and see how our country/universities would be transformed for the better

It crazy 19 years and don’t even speak one Ghanaian language. Imagine a Ghanaian going to Lebanon and not learn Lebanese, he can’t even survive. They come here and exclude themselves from locals is what I’m getting. 🤦🏿♂️
And the way our twi is everywhere even in strictly formal settings and people are still able to"avoid" it is "impressive". When you go to Central University there's a large number of Nigerian students there who have no dealings with our twi/food etc. It's sad
@@markntiri8251Why sad ? They come for university degree n not Twi diploma from the market. It’s not compulsory even tho it’s helpful.
English is a foreign language, so they must make twi a mandatory language to study for a year or two for foreign students. If you go to Germany 🇩🇪 or France 🇫🇷 or Russia 🇷🇺 you will learn their languages.
Twi is not rhe official language of Ghana ... the official language is english ...why is it a necessity for us to learn twi...
It's not but it is the popular language spoken so it will be wise to learn two so you can communicate well with the indigenes. @@kamcofficiel1208
Twi is not the official language n it’s also not the language for instruction at school so why should it be compulsory for international student to learn it ? Their parent didn’t pay big fees for them to come learn Twi. It should be by choice on individual basis cuzz it’s helpful.
The Nigerian is very gentle.

Well if u speak for the English countries!! But for a lot of French African countries the cost is not too bad !! In most countries ecowas student pays the same price as locals ..
And for an ivorian to go to france to study!!
We paying $400 for the year. In a government run university .
In Ghana's case the fees are ridiculous. I know foreign students in Rwanda who pay less than 10, 000 cedis for the whole year, study under quality conditions and have access to transfer to Europe for further studies. Foreign students in Ghana are paying 20,000 cedis and over Aden?

19 yrs in Ghana and no Twi is pathetic. Ghana should be proud for keeping culture, ie speaking our local language and same time speaking very very good English. I am amazed how Ghanians speak English so go. The best in Africa. Ghana should intensify teaching Twi. That when coming to Ghana get your basics in Twi.

There are lot of Lebanese in Ghana. Most of them were born there. Lebanese have businesses in Ghana since the 50s.

Wow. What you like about a whole University is WiFi. It's not academics we have a lot to do so that Students will be excited about what they are studying and not WiFi

I've read lots of reviews of international students about studying in Legon especially US/Europe transfer students and poor academics was cited as a con. These people are exposed to more in-depth knowledge/quality and Ghana should strive to offer them top notch world class current relevant Ivy league university-like knowledge, so their time/money here would be worth it.
Ghana receives the second largest number of international US students apart from South Africa. We should do better. University of Ibadan has some futuristic technology in their medical school and beats us in West Africa in world university rankings. We've peace and stability and should leverage on that to offer top notch world class education
Ghananian universities don't need a recommendation from Nigerian students because they will come by themselves, In Nigeria their education system is very very bad.
She would recommend UG because of the hall week and the wifi? What? There is more we need to do with the practical aspects of our education.

@@AlkebulanJahmiah no its not like that. When you go to the French speaking countries the mostly speak French in schools, streets,markets etc but in Ghana its different.

Please try not to respond to peoples answers with utter shock. How long have you been in Ghana? 4yrs . Your response: Really? Wow!. Your interviewees faces look like oops. They think in their head: “is it bad that I have been here that long?” Anyway to be straight forward that is how I felt. Please try not to show too much emotions as people respond. It’s more of a turn off when you do that so people don’t open up completely. I like your show. Good luck to you.
Nice remark. And she was asking leading questions sometimes, it "coaches" interviewees to give you answers they think you want to hear. Ask open ended questions, don't express too much emotions/facial expressions and watch people tell you their truths
This is terribly bad... Speaking Twi in an international university environment wherein most students are none Twi speakers. It's a sign of unseriousness.

@@jonesnyarko8447 You are misinformed and your view does not reflect the subject matter. Nobody is saying stop Ghanaians from speaking Twi in offices or in their local environment. Here, we are talking about an international school with a clear cut motive to cater to the needs of foreign students education wise. You don't come into the class and start speaking Twi to obviously none Twi speaking scholars. That is/was the bone of contention. I went to an international university and it's uncommon to have lecturers give lectures in local language which we obviously do not speak nor understand. UGIC must be consequential, either they remain international in all ramifications or keep to local orientation. How do you want scholars to learn when instructions are giving in language that scholars can't comprehend. Next time, please understand the subject matter before commenting. I was thinking of sending my son to Legon. However, the obvious problems and disadvantages mentioned by those scholars are enough to reconsider my application for him. Look, learning Twi or any other local languages for international students should be a matter of choice. It cannot be the language of instruction in lecture rooms

@@agoogo5026 You are entitled to your opinion. However, that is not the issue here.... and it is not a requirement for admission ab-initio. Medical students would likely go for practicals in the community, so learning basics of the local language of the community might be a requirement but it is different from/for such language being used as instrumentality of instruction.
