In pirates of the Caribbean Dead man's chest the part where Jack is like " I got a jar of dirrrt I got a jar of dirrrrt " and then trips was never in the script
Shadow Demon so many scenes in that series were all improve lol. I swear they just put Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Kiera Knightley and Geoffrey Rush out in the wild and went “okay. Just act like you’re 17th & 18th century pirates” 😂
Forgot two things. 1.) The jar of dirt scene in Pirates of the Caribbean. 2.) The Jurassic Park banner falling as the T-Rex roars in the ending in Jurassic Park.
Whimsical Delight and the Jurassic park animatronic dinosaur at the scene where it bashes it’s head in the glass trying to eat the children was a malfunction
Ledger's genius in The Dark Knight cannot be doubted. Apart from that hospital explosion there are lot of scenes Ledger improvised such as his clap when Gordon got promoted and many other. He designed the make up himself, shot a cam scene of a victim he was torturing himself. Went into isolation for a month to prepare for the role, kept a journal. Man, I can go on and on. RIP Ledger, you will be missed in Hollywood fraternity for all eternity. Anyways, that first few seconds of the video though. Matt you are a Madlad😅 Also, I make creepy vids on true stories if it interests anyone here, ciao ;)
I hate to be "that guy", but the hospital explosion scene wasn't improvised. They heavily rehearsed beforehand and the pause in the middle, where he was supposed to turn around in confusion, was planned out in previs.
When Heath Ledger's Joker appeared in that bar, Michael Caine was supposed to say a few lines at Joker. Due to the fact that Michael Caine didn't meet Heath Ledger prior to the scene, when they did it, he just stammered. That take stayed in the film.
@@layneyloo14 that girl is Kerry Washington and she's a pretty good actress in her own right so I doubt she's that crazy about Leonardo Dicaprio...I always had a crush on him when I was younger but even I wouldn't want his blood smeared all over my face
That was a great video Matt!! I knew a couple of them because of having the box sets, but without those I wouldn't have known them. You're absolutely fantastic Matt and you need a bigger part in whatever movie you do next!!! I love ya man and all areas of your art & work!!! Keep your greatness coming!!! Your Fan Always - Carl
I got two more for you. 1) Indiana Jones shoots the swordsman in Raiders of the Lost Ark. 2) Kevin Bacon kicks a bucket through a window in Stir of Echoes.
You forgot one more... in Pretty Woman when Richard Gere's character shows a ring in its box to Julia Roberts and as she reaches her hand over to touch it, he jokingly closes the box shut and startles her and she bursts out laughing, which marked the point where her laugh became very famous.
In Wayne’s world, the famous Bohemian Rhapsody Scene. At the end of the song, Mike Sings “nothing really matters” and Garth is supposed to sing “anyone can see” but he forgot the lyrics so he just opens and closes his mouth. Funny, funny moment that many don’t realize was accidental.
Forever proving that scripting something to excessive degrees and hiring a committed to design every little scene doesn't create truly "good" moves, it only stops average movies from being bad.
Another worth noting is Star Lord drops the Orb in Guardians of the Galaxy. During the filming of that scene, apparently Chris Pratt actually did drop the prop and pick it back up, which wasn't scripted, but he managed to stay in character when he did it, so James Gunn decided to keep it in the final cut of the movie.
Fantastic video, Matt!! I really enjoyed it, especially since there were a few I hadn't heard of before, and more details on the ones I had heard of! Looking forward to the next video!
I’m surprised that a scene from the 74 Gone in 60 Seconds didn’t make the cut. During the police chase, Eleanor was wrapped around a pole, amazing MVA and not scripted. Amazingly the car still ran and was used for the rear of the chase.
What about the scene in Star Wars: A New Hope where the stromtrooper hits his head on the door because it go up all the way? Matt, you the man! One of Canada's best exports!
The Scene where the Joker stalls the explosion was not actually an accident there were even notes that he was gonna react as such. That it was ever an accident was a rumor.
You should do a video on where 10 actors are now. Like what is Viggo Mortensen doing now? Or maybe forgotten actors like the voice of Disney's Peter Pan. He was completely forgotten until his body was discovered. For years, nobody bothered to look for him except his mom because he was a drug abuser. It's really sad, he was a cute kid.
Matthew, where’s the T. rex scene from Jurassic park where the T. rex malfunctions and crashes its head through the top of the car, nearly killing the kids. Yeah, that was real. I think that should be at least second on the list.
best youtuber EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your videos are educational yet fun because of your videos I can actually lesrn stuff as my teachers make everything sound dull,so thank you for making me laugh and learn some weird goofy and unique information KEEP GOING YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!😆❤
Oh my gosh, I knew it!! I knew that alot of best parts of movies were not scripted!! Matthew, you've got to do another one of these!! You rock!! 😎😎🎸🎸😃😃
This was amazing! But, there's also another one that many people may not know: the scene in Dirty Dancing where Patrick Swayzes character is teaching Jennifer Grey's character the opening to their routine where he caresses her left side. Remember, for those who've seen the movie, how she starts laughing uncontrollably several times and he had a look of pure annoyance on his face? That was all unscripted. Their reactions, both Swayze and Grey, were 100% genuine.
James McGuinness, I think not doing your research for the #1 movie on a list is important. I'm going to assume since they didn't do it for this list that it's not the only time they've presented something false. There are too many other good channels and videos to watch like Crash Course, or Vsauce, smarter people than this guy here.
*+Fact Checker* Let me see if I can understand your troll logic here: Matthew committed a mistake, that means that he's always wrong. Seriously, have you ever committed a mistake, Mr.Perfect? Everybody does. Besides, if you will call him wrong then prove it, show us a link where it is said by the horse's mouth that that scene was supposed to be like that. If you cannot do that then go troll somewhere else.
The chances of you seeing this are pretty slim to none. However I would like to say that you are my favorite TH-camr.. I appreciate your content and it helps me learn little facts. Surprisingly I have found that even in my worst of moods and on the worst of days I can watch your videos and just from the way you act I can't help but smile. That leads into greater things. I've started training again and started eating better and in my rituals (daily goals) I make it a goal to watch at least one video a day. Thank you @MatthewSantoro
The joker scene wasnt an accident. There's a ton of cgi test footage which shows the joker hitting the trigger a bunch of times to no avail. Do some research
but the bombs took longer than expected to go off Matthew isn't wrong, just didn't have all the info yes it was planned for there to be a delay but not one as long as seen in the film
My personal favorite "accidental" scene comes from my favorite movie. In the first Jurassic Park (1993), during the scene where the Rex breaks the glass on Tim & Lex in the car, their reactions and screams are very real, as the glass wasn't supposed to break and come down on them in that way.
Hey matt, Pin this comment if I can blow your mind: "Go hang a Salami". Take this phrase, turn it backwards, and you get the new phrase: "I'm a lasagna Hog".
I really enjoy your videos. You are my favorite TH-camr. My first seen TH-cam video was your "photos before tragedy" video. You are awesome Matt. I don't know you personally but I'm sure you are really a good person.
I have an old one for you, there's a scene in "It's a Wonderful Life" where George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) is watching his uncle walk away in a drunken stupor, but then you hear a huge crash and the uncle utters "I'm all right- I'm aaaaaall right!" As if he ran into some trash cans... But in reality a lighting system had fallen off stage! All the actors in that scene are genuinely concerned and laughing at the reaction!
Matty absolutely LOVE your videos!!! You should really do a funny video where you do imitations of characters such as the joker like you did in this video, which I think was awesome btw :D loving your work!! Keep it up! PS- How the heck are your teeth so shiny :D xxxxx
I am a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan and I was SHOCKED that the flag was an accident!!! It wasn't in the book, but i thought they just added it for the "Omg this is really bad" factor! Talk about good timing! That scene still makes me feel the anguish and horror that the people of Rohan must have been facing and it's even more powerful when the lead group coming in looks at it with such forlorn expressions. Acting at its finest people!!! PS. I love you Matt!!! Never stop making top tens please!!!
I feel like you forgot two. One isn't all that big, but the other is slightly more so. The small one was another Leonardo Di Caprio mess-up. In Titanic, when he's going to paint Rose like "one of his french girls," he says, "Please, get on the bed- er, um couch." This was a mess-up in his lines that the director decided to keep because it added to his overall nervousness of the scene. I can't remember the name of this movie, but it had Alan Rickman (rip) in it. He was hanging off of this elevator and he was going to be dropped off the side of it onto one of those mats at the bottom. Apparently, the director was going to count down from three, then let him go, but he said three, and then let the actor go. Thus, the terrified look on his face was completely honest. That's all I got. Love your videos, Matt!
There was a scene in the movie "A Knights Tale" where the character Chaucer is hyping up the crowd when the knight he is representing is starting to win the sword competition. This part of the film was filmed in the Czech Republic, so almost none of the extras spoke English. The directors decided to leave that scene in since it was hilarious and made sense under the circumstances.

And the only toll he paid for all that hard work was death.
Worth it.
Heath Ledger had the very definition of dedication

Irene Parkin *That* is actually true, unlike the example in the thumbnail.
I didn't know that till I was at Chunky's one time and the before movie stuff included some mini trivia.
Irene Parkin I’m confused... what scene? What line?
Rebekah Wolkiewicz it was in the first Batman film.
Actually it was the fact that Caine had not seen heath in full makeup and it startled him so much he forgot his lines
I feel like you can’t just rub real blood on people’s faces...
Jackpo25 i think it was fake blood because if he cut his hand then maybe they cleaned and incorperated into the movie
It’s a Tarantino movie, you never really know.
I think Leonardo is pretty capable of more than that.
I know, that poor girl probably puked after the scene. Either that or she was like "Dicaprio's blood? I'm never washing my face again"
@@layneyloo14 that girl is Kerry Washington and she's a pretty good actress in her own right so I doubt she's that crazy about Leonardo Dicaprio...I always had a crush on him when I was younger but even I wouldn't want his blood smeared all over my face
Art wouldn't be innovative without happy accidents.
And happy trees
Kubrick didn't understand the concept of a 'happy accident'. He was still pretty innovative.
The dark knight is still my all time favorite movie. Straight masterpiece
Don't forget
"I didn't know you could read."
Will Williams Yup!

Yeah
Tananda Lynch not so much an accident as an ad-lib, but yeah
