Great question. IV hydrocortisone is given in case there is coexistent adrenal insufficiency, since Addisonian crisis and myxedematous coma share a lot of the same symptoms.

Why we give steroid in both hyper and hypo thyroid while steroid stop thyroid hormone releasing
