Hello Mandy and Lee. Love watching your videos! Enjoy your time in Bangkok! Looking forward to seeing the journey! I was excited to hear during the video that you will be going back to New Zealand to visit the family after four years. Looking forward to seeing New Zealand!

    Hi Mandy and Lee
I remember talking the sleeper on this train. The guard created the best bed I had ever had on a train. The lady looking after our carriage served us banned cans of beer wrapped in newspaper. Happy memories.
Yesterday I celebrated my birthday in Saudi Arabia. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦
We drove up into the mountains whic embrace Medina, back through the old city then visited mosques humble and lavish. The Quba, lit up at night was a sight I will never forget! We found a Lebanese restaurant to fit our budget and I had cake!
Wizz Air have helped make this dream come true. Allowing me time in Cyprus and Abu Dhabi before arriving here. 6 flights were under £200.
Accommodation here is not budget but we have found good places for £25 per night.
Car rental and gas is cheap! Food can be too if you go to local places.
I think 2 weeks of travel, Cyprus, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Saudi A will be less than £900. £65 a day. In the past I have dreamt about coming here but seen tours for £2000+
Today we drive to Alulu. I can't wait. Thanks again for your inspiration. 💙💙💙

Hi Julie. Sorry about the delay in responding. We've just been in transit for a few days. Mandy heading to NZ to see family and me to UK. Still recovering. 😬😵‍💫
How wonderful that your Arabia trip is working out so well. That's fantastic you have been able to achieve those goals thanks to Wizz Air. Discovering their new network revolutionised this year's travel for us. allula will be the icing on the cake. Would love to hear of your experience there.
The Quba mosque really was a special place for us too. With so many umrah pilgrims there it had so much energy.
We've been taking advantage of Scoots new cheap route between Europe and Asia/Australia. Another amazing deal the budget flights between Berlin/Athens and Singapore really has made getting from Europe to Asia affordable just at the right time for us. Definitely recommend it too. 👍😁

I am impressed with Mandy's pronunciation of Thai words. The Khao soy looks good and what a great price! The train seats look like a good size and Lee's legs almost reach the bathroom. 😂 I wonder if you bought the pad Thai and Lee's meal on the train, they look good too. The hotel in Bangkok is nice for a very good price. Thank you very much for sharing places to eat and stay. I hope Mandy's cancer treatment is going well. You are on our minds! ❤

Hello Sue. Lovely to hear from you 🙏
Mandy is doing well and is very positive. 👍. We enjoyed making this video. It is so pleasant to travel in Thailand. Yes we bought the Pad Thai on the train. It's wonderful how there are always vendors around there with delicious treats to try. ❤️
We'll always return to Thailand over and over again between other travels in Asia.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. 💕 Lee and Mandy

I know what you mean " I do not know if its a good thing or bad" speaking of being so close to the toilet - I just took a bus from San Salvador to Guatemala City and I was right by the toilet - great since I'm older and need the toilet more but bad because of the constant traffic and smells. Love your videos

    • @FrugalTravellers
      @FrugalTravellers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Haha 😂 Yes, toilet access is an important thing as we get older. 😂 Great to know that they have them on the buses over there. We plan to travel in Central America next year. Looking forward to it. 🙏😊

Thanks for the video. I often travel by train in Thailand, but due to the fact of overtourism in the last couple of years there are now too many people with "bucket lists" in Thailand who want to try train services even they nearly never do it in their home country. It makes it difficult for locals to reserve a seat.
Unfortunately many of these overtourism problems are caused by instagrammers and youtubers and other travel influencers. This is why I call me an "Outfluencer".
Anyway, your video is nice, and at around 12:40 you were close to my favourite food stall in Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal. 555
Please do not show "hidden gems" or places "off the beaten path" on video. You are helping to destroy them.

Sorry we missed this. I'm trying to catch up 🙏. It's so true. Too much plastic. Thankfully they are quite tidy here and avoid littering. 🙏
