I'm new to Ohio, an the steelhead. As a Georgia guy I've spent years chasing rainbow an browns. I'm just over the 200hour mark chasing the steelies on the charigan. No luck yet , lol, seems I'm doing wrong. Thanks for all the help !!!!

Another great video Nate! Thanks for answering so many questions! I've been using your rig as well as Paula Leng's...the one new question I do have is, how do you set the depth on Marabou jigs or crappie tubes..so if a spot is like 4 feet deep, do you set your float at like 3.5? Or lower?
Thanks and great question man! Sounds like your approach is good, I'm usually aiming to be six inches off the bottom. When I first come to a spot and don't know the depth, I'll usually just keep adjusting to my depth until I can see I'm dragging on the bottom, then just slide it up 6 inches from there. Hope that helps!
Solid video! Its my first season and I'm a noob.. only went for largemouth bass and catfish. So this video helps alot I've seen alot of steelhead tips. I fish the rocky river too. Dicks only had purple and pink with green tail tubes so I'm probably not gonna catch anything lol

Hey man! I’d say usually I won’t stay in a spot for more than an hour if I’m not catching fish. But will have definitely tried fishing 3-4 colors at different depths before I move on. Hope that helps!
Hey, you featured my question!! Nice momentum with the subs. I recently bought some Worden's steelhead jigs 1/16 and 1/32 size on FishUSA and they look pretty good. I figured they may work ok since Worden's is the trusted brand of rooster tails. Question for you: I've noticed you tip your marabou jigs with maggots. Do you think it is necessary to tip them, since a crappie jig is visually similar in the water without tipping with maggots?
Thanks man! I don't have any experience with Worden's jigs but as long as the hook is strong they should work well. I think it never hurts to tip a jig with some live bait if you have it, but lately I've been fishing mostly un-tipped marabou jigs and crappie tubes with some scent instead. I like having some natural scent on a bait - Procure Steelhead combo has been my go-to lately
I'm seeing a lot more people starting to use them for steelhead. They just work! Often I'll be trying other baits for half an hour in a spot and then switch to a tube and get a bite on the first cast
