Many thanks for this. I’ve been battling with bars 38-40 of Bach’s Organ Sonata No. 4. There seems to be two sets of sheet music for this and one has a simplified passage here, but the other one (as played very nicely by Vikingur Olaffsen) - well you have to go berserk! The notes have 4 flags which you will know, are hemidemisemiquavers, 1/64th of a crotchet! ( I had to look this up on Wikipedia as they are very rare. Getting the fingering right, then relaxing seems to work! Counterintuitively, adding the bass chords (simple octaves) makes it easier, not harder, because the bass chords anchor where the repetition patterns change in the right hand.
