The UK's Only Identical Quadruplets | Health and Medical Documentary | Absolute Documentaries

  • In this absolute documentary, we follow The Carles’ family who is made up of dad Jose, mum Julie, and four identical quadrupled girls Ellie, Georgina, Jessica, and Holly. They are the UK's only identical quadruplets. This full-length documentary will follow their journey during their first year at school as they cause a lot of confusion and sometimes hostility wherever they go. Mum Julie was only the 27th woman in the world to conceive monochorionic quads naturally. The girls are so alike that for the first year Julie and her husband Jose had to write the babies’ initials on their feet in permanent marker to tell them apart.
    They look seemingly impossible to tell apart and people often stare and ask some quite blunt questions about what it’s like to bring up four of a kind. This documentary will aim to answer these questions and also give insight into the uniqueness of identical quadruples. How identical are they really?

    When they're under 5 their brains are still irrational. Mom avoided unnecessary conflict by keeping everything the same in the early years. Now that they can think more rationally, they can start making their own choices.

    this is why you dont make them wear the same clothes, have the same toys and belongings, same food portions and plates. theyre individuals and youre taking that away from them at those critical developmental stages where they form their identities. they dont learn to be themselves to accept their own unique traits and what makes them different from their sisters. instead they compare what they have to their sisters, get jealous, demand, feel like an outcast if they are in any way different from their sisters... even twins can potentially develop huge psychological, attachment and identity issues if they grow up like this and it's well documented. but go on about how you dont see how such parenting could be bad for them. it's not a person split in 4, it's 4 different persons. they should be treated the way normal siblings are treated where they can wear different clothes and have different toys, like normal human beings. a same birth date and identical genes and looks don't equal same everything about them.

    • @kathrinlindern2697
      @kathrinlindern2697 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't think it is a problem until you start actively discouraging them from wanting to try out different things. If one of the girls specifically asked to wear something different from the other girls, and mum said no, that would be denying them their personality.
      But going out and buying four different sets of clothes and then "assigning" them is actually worse - you also "assign" a personality with that rather than letting that develop on its own, and you do foster jealousy simply because young kids confronted with that unequal treatment will spontaneously decide that the grass is greener on the other side and they want what on of their sisters has. And then see it as favouritism if a sister gets the "better" things. At the same time, about 4/5 is the age where paediatricians recommend kids start choosing their own clothes, so them starting to dress different at that age is actually really good for them.

    One is gunna be jealous and want what the other one has. Or more time will have to be invested into one then the other. So I agree that dressing them the same is just fine and it’s easier. I don’t see anything wrong with it.
