An absolute work of art. In today's world, sporting motorcycles must have tons of power, TFT displays, ABS, traction control and every other technological advance mankind has been able to conceive, and while there's nothing wrong with that, it seemingly insulates the rider from the pure essence of motorcycling. Your video captures that essence in spades. Thanks for posting, and ride safe!
Agreed. My dad and I have 73 Honda CB350s and sometimes I think about selling mine and getting a modern bike. When I ride it, I'm reminded why it is the bike I need.
@@xtcrider8270 I love my Triumph and my BSA , but my old Ducati has the most mellow, purposeful thundering note. Even when driving a tractor I have never been overtaken by a HD. True.
I had a 73 750SS that I campaigned in the late 1970'sand this was pretty tame as far as the way it would handle. It loved fast sweepers but it would get down in the twisties too. It really didn't make power over 7000RPM but it would go to 9500. I kept it about 10 years and although I told my wife it was a real collectors piece she told me I couldn't afford to be a collector with kids to put through school. It went the way of the Laverda Jota and the Guzzi V7 Sport-all sold. Still have a Norton 850 but soon it will be gone too. Great bikes and the noise from those Conti's would blister the paint off the walls.
Ouch. That story of yours rings a bell. You sound like one of my friends. He stopped all his hobbies, sold his bikes to be able to afford the price for the family. Not long after he had sold all his toys his lady left him because he changed too much.
Have a 78 SD Ducati that back in the day was fast, mates had Lavs and would beat me every were but big Japanese bikes only in a straight line good times.
I really wanna watch this video in a theater! Great job! Btw in my country Ducati’s have been so underrated, cuz Harley’s are 10,000 times more popular then Ducati’s. Harley’s are actually great bikes, but I don’t think they’re 10,000 times greater then Ducati. But luckily in my town Hiroshima, we have a nice workshop with some classic bevel Ducati experts/enthusiasts so that I always enjoy riding around my 450 yellow shotgun.
undoubtedly one of the best - if not the best - video of the Ducati 750 circa1974 to be found anywhere. no words no hand on tool just the bike , its rider , its handling and \ music
I can't believe I ever got to ride with this rider, and this bike, but I did. The whole family is legendary. They are all gifted with the "Haul Ass Gene". Just when you think you are going fast, they seamlessly slip away from you. What a beautiful video, super great editing, and a wonderful tribute to Buddy.
Definitely one of the better motorcycle videos on YT. I'm wathing this for the 5th or 6st time. Perfect recording of one of the best sounding bikes. Great editing too. Thumbs up.
That is one sweet Ducati. Extremely well executed customisation. The exhaust sounds amazing, completely different to the Conti's but suits the bike so well. AND what a great rider, you remind me of me :-) I would travel to the States just to see that bike and meet its builder.
Yup, been a while since I watched this, still the best, I love the sound of a Ducati in the morning, it's that sound, you know, that sound, that Ducati sound, God I love that, it sounds like victory.:)
This is as close as you are going to get on video to piloting a genuine breathed on 1970's bevel drive motor, be it a 750 or 900ss. My old 900ss had a blueprinted engine, lost the flywheel to lighten the crank, a set of imola cams and 87mm venoilia high compression pistons. It would rev out to 9k rpm easily through the gears on standard gearing. Although it didn't have those glorious high level pipes the feel of this video is very similar to how I remember it, except for a bit of induction roar right under my ears in there too. Ahh the rose tinted spectacles are out
Hi, Nice bike. I had a 750 ss from 77 till 82. Green frame. Painted it red , same as this one. Even had same Ducati decal on tank and custom made pipes with open megaphones. similar to yours. Of course mine was a Desmo with 40 mm dellortos, open bellmouths. Sounded awesome and was! Wish I still had that one!! George from N.Z.
Outstanding rebuild love the colour, the pipeline though I prefer the less raucous, more mellow sound of the Contis. Great reason to live - days off, Sunshine and that bike on some quality, twisties.
Wow, what a nice bike! Exactly the way a Duc have to be! The parts, the proportions and of course the sound.......perfect!! Only the double front lights are purely a matter of taste.Well done !!
I had a 900SS built by a Ducati guy in Seattle, I can't remember his name. Just like this but just a bit deeper throatier sound. Why the hell I ever sold that bike is beyond my current understanding. I think there were like, young children and building a house and things like that in the mix. I shoulda just found a garage and put it in there and left it, but I didn't know I would jones for the sound like I'm doing now. However, on the plus side, I AM still alive right now. Had I kept the bike, that would not really have been a given. So damn fast and absolute blast to ride. Anything below 50mph was sort of difficult to maintain, it just wanted to go fast.
I can't wait till summer. The absolute best sound and picture video of a bevel I've seen on you tube. Beautiful bike bro. Love you to overhaul my 860Gt
Very well made bit of film. Excellent editing and sound; could be mistaken for a professional promotional piece. Have considered doing a post of a Laverda Jota and a 900ss bevel. After viewing this, I've got my work cut out......... Enjoy your bike and "be careful out there", quote unquote NYPD Blue.
I've had a lot of nice bikes, both British and Japanese. Bought them, rode them, sold them. The only one bike I never sold is my 1978 Desmo 900 Super Sport. It's a ride that can't be described, only experienced. With the Conti pipes, it's a real head turner and becomes the center of attention which is part of the experience. 😁The new Ducati's are OK nice but verrry different. Just not the same. I'll never, ever part with my Desmo.
An absolute work of art. After careful consideration I have come to the conclusion that this is the best video on TH-cam
archiefaekirky Definitely a Delicious sound...
It's pretty damn close if its not
I concur
Absofukinglutely!
Oh boy....I got to get back in the garage and finish mine !
the motorcycle as I intend; aircooled, no electronics, open exhausts, only 2 cylinders. All you need to be happy
Agreed. My dad and I have 73 Honda CB350s and sometimes I think about selling mine and getting a modern bike. When I ride it, I'm reminded why it is the bike I need.
Red paint, 2 cylinders mounted at 90 degrees, straight through exhaust, all the beauty you could ask for. That is all a man needs in a machine.
I THINK THIS IS THE BEST BIKE I HAVE EVER SEEN
Pure Ducati passion. The 9 dislikes must be HD owners who are mad their bikes will never sound this good.
HDs sound pretty good

Much too late, but for crying out loud at least hang on to the Norton.

What was the laverda like to ride?
Bell mouth Dell'ortos and Contis on a Ducati are a mechanical symphony

Going out to the garage and love on my old Guzzi LeMans. Nothing beats a 90° Italian twin for music.

Die Italienische Wuchtbrumme.

Nothing is louder than a Ducati with a megaphone. Even my Ducati 250, 350, 450 were louder than a Harley.

i miss my 863 GTS. Your bikes sound reminds me of the Bullit Mustang Steve Mcqueen drove .
very nice , love the pumper shot , there's a definite severe shortage of bevel vids in action on YT , this is sweet as .....
Yes, the lack of good bevel videos provided the inspiration to make this one. Thanks.
i have to ask... what/how have you used to record the sound ? Normally its drowned out with wind and poor quality.
You need a camera with a jack for a remote mic. In this case, the mic was placed inside the leather jacket. Thanks.
ou ou ou super sound.. fantastic
