I think we still need a bridge QB and Geno is the best option. I hope we draft 1st rd OL. We should just do that every year. Unless there's some crazy DL/edge.
That's how we won the Super Bowl. Everyone on starting line was homegrown 1st or 2nd round draft pick. Start the process this year. 1st round OL. 2nd round Dillon Gabriel or if he's taken, best available QB. We need a QB this year regardless how weak this QB class is.

@@princeseabronco5328 Dillon Gabriel at 2nd round? Really? He's small with average arm strength and he'll be available in the 7th round. I would take both Will Howard and Jaxon Dart in this draft in the 2nd and 3rd round especially if JS can trade down in the 1st round to get more draft picks.

There is no more sit and learn when more and more of these kids 100% NEED to sit and learn. I think Jones will have success if he lands in a good position and that would be a team like the Seahawks. 4 times Jones had a 100+ rating out of 10 games, Geno 3 times in 16 games he had a rating of 100 or better. Jones had 5 games where he threw a INT, Geno had 10 games with a INT. Jones had 6 games with 20+ yards running the ball ( out of 10 ), Geno had 4 games with 20+ yards rushing ( out of 16 ). Geno has MUCH more talent around him than Jones had and its not even close. If im the Hawks i go out and get Jones and sign him to a cheap 4 year contract if he stinks well you are set up to draft a pretty good QB in the 2026 NFL draft.

Can you explain to me how much more they can run the ball with how unsuccessful it’s been all the majority of the season. 2 yards in first down isn’t cutting it. Getting stuffed on way too many 1 to go plays doesn’t build confidence in any coach to continue running the ball. The coaches see these guys in practice every day. Rather just go full steam ahead on O-Line this off season, sign the cheapest out of all of the logical QB options, and see if we can get a rookie QB in the draft.
Jesus Christ. Internet 12s are getting worst every year. Literally insufferable. Only TH-camr that calls out how dumb our fanbase is Murf over are TopBillin' Stop feeding in dumb narratives.
Geno is not at the top of the list of stuff that needs fixed. The Oline should be priority number one. Geno is perfectly fine for now as Mike builds the team from the trenches out.
Use the money youd be paying geno to put into the Oline and get a rookie..(J.Dart). 2 things. What is Johns hit rate on rumored interest or actually drafted QBs? I think itd be pretry high. Geno wants an extension. I dontcsee how its a smart decision to give him more money when hes not progressing, weve missed the playoffs 2/3 years of him being the starter. The best all around team we had is when we had a rookie QB on a cheap deal.
Geno is not going to win you a SB. He's too good to get you a top 10 pick and too bad to actually field a competitive team, at his current cap hit. If we want to get out of the 9/10 win purgatory, the hawks need to move on from Geno.
Excellent discussion. For me, I'd wait a few seasons. (cringe, I know, I know, I know) We need to Frankenstein ourselves a quarterback. Yes, I know how that sounds. I'm KIDDING. I want to keep our two boys. If they didn't want Sam, then the hell did they keep him around? I don't think it was to shove him here and there like a goddamn Jack in the Box. Sam feels like the Seahawks future but you're never going to find out if you keep bloody Window Shopping.
Its like people don't even watch football. It doesn't matter who your QB is if you can't protect them. Worry about the offensive line first, get an offensive coordinator that can get the most out of your offense. Then worry about a QB.
Look I like Geno as a person, he is a nice guy and is a decent Quarterback even good at times. But he is not going to win you the Super Bowl. His ceiling is maybe win the division. But that is as far as he goes, he makes poor decisions when the game is on the line too often and is not mobile or elusive enough to get out of sacks and keeping the drive going. You want to win the Super Bowl? Guess who you got to beat to win it? The answer is Patrick Mahomes, you need a Quarterback who can go drive for drive with Patrick Mahomes and outplay him and Travis Kelsey to win a Lombardi. Can Geno do that? I am going to say HELL NO! So we need a young guy with good arm and is accurate but is mobile and makes better decisions then Geno. I don’t know if JJ McCarthy is the answer or not or we wait a year till the next draft because this years QB draft class appears to be pretty bad.
You’re aware qb’s don’t play eachother. Right? They play the defense of the team the qb is on. Was Russ better than Peyton manning? Was Russ on Tom Brady’s level? Geno is good enough to win a sb. It’s a team sport.
@ You are aware that Geno already played Patrick Mahomes two years ago on 12/24/22 in KC and lost 24-10 and got dominated by the Chiefs yet you think a future meeting would go any better then last time? You are welcome to continue with that Delusion that Geno could beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. I prefer to be realistic about it instead take actual steps like improve the offensive line and get a more dynamic and better decision making QB that give the hawks a real chance not a laughably delusional one like your suggesting.
@ you missed my entire point. Whose job would it be to stop Patrick Mahomes? Geno or the Seahawks defense? Or do defenses not matter and it’s just a qb duel every nfl game? For the record I don’t think the chiefs are making it to the Super Bowl this year. I think it’s going to be the ravens or the bills.
@@caseymagee5251 I don’t think our defense is good enough that they can completely shut Mahomes and Kelsey down yet. They can slow them down but still think the chiefs will be able to score points so it will be up to Geno and that line to be able to control the clock and ball. Which is what the chiefs do best if you have watched them at all lately. Geno would have to take over the game and will the hawks to victory, at this time I don’t believe he is capable of this after watching him over the past few months. If you watch how the chiefs win They usually rely on Mahomes and Kelsey to take over the game and make dynamic plays that the other teams defense can’t stop. Do you really believe Geno can do this? Because I don’t think he can.
Kalen DeBoer's coaching style has a nasty glitch: when he gets his QBs to the title bout, and they falter, he abandons them for greener pastures. Do Not go by DeBoer's coaching. It's faulty.
Get rid of Geno asap. HIS QBR which is most important stat is 24th out of 32. He is a curse on the team. I would get Fields as next best FA qb since Darnold is back with vikings. I would then draft Caleb Kubiak in next years draft.
Test 23 yr old qb plumlee. We have 3 QBs already. Try em out. Plumlee being one of them...if fails, draft the following yr with a high pick. Heck with getting another QB. The ones we have are cheap
I would kick the tires on Zac Wilson and do everything we can to keep Geno on a two year contract with a third year option paying him league average salary with bonuses or incentives for more
IMO, the JJ talk is just that, TALK. Vikings are not going to trade him, prob going to pull do a GB with Love plan, have him sit behind Darnold for a couple of years, then start turn to him. If the Hawks go for another teams young backup, I would rather Hooker (DET) or Travis (NYJ). Both had mobility traits before injury in college, have had time to completely heal & adjust to NFL games.
Hmm. Penix. Yes, silly. Here's another one I've been thinking of since watching Marshawn and MikeRob's podcast: Let our former boys choose the future boys. Not QB, no, the Offensive Line. Hire them as OCs. Making you laugh yet? Well, I'm totally serious.
Bring in Bryce Young and Zach Wilson as waterboys. JJ Mcarthy is the only QB out there that is obtainable and possibly better that Geno in a few years.
Dan, even there is 1% chance of succeeding on drafting a qb it is worth taking the risk than non attempting to draft a qb at all is a crime in my opinion because of the upside of a rookie qb. i don’t understand the paranoia on qb failures. Allen, Mahamoes Lamar did not came with a guarantee they are sure hit qb’s.
My 1st choice is trade Geno to Indy for Richardson . We probably need to send our 1st round pick to do it. 2nd choice would be to sign either Zach Wilson or Trey Lance to compete with Geno and Slinging Sam. May the best man win.
I say keep existing contract or extend. Geno may or may not be elite but he can’t succeed without a functional Oline and running game. No one can really.
Brutal.... The right thing to do is whatever it takes to keep the pocket clean and leverage Geno's skill. Bring in anyone else and they're gonna get their brains beat out too. Want to make Seattle into an instant contender, Geno and DK to Jacksonville for Trevor Lawrence. Commit to the Hogs.
Yes, it’s substantially better to continue winning nine or 10 games and draft in the middle so you never get a quality quarterback. Seattle should try to get a trade with the Raiders for Geno Smith. He would play well there indoors cause he sucks outdoors the numbers tell it all
Inconsistent O-line. Inconsistent run game and Inconsistent OC yet let’s blame Geno. We lost Wilson because of the O-line. Our GM is the problem. Develop the O-line. Bring in a mentor for Grubb and keep working on the defensive we will be fine. Defense wins Championships. LOB
I saw that discussion and immediately decided it was BS. Are you quite sure Salk knows what he's talking about? I've heard a lot of silly stuff out of his mouth - particularly his continued rants to trade DK earlier this seaon...
Some can't walk and chew gum.... some can't run....and pass accurately. But then there are those wonderful moments, or minutes of wonderful clarity....then all of a sudden...the wheels fall off and the ball goes to someone on the other team. But difficult subject or answer.
Plot twist, we let Geno go and bring back Wilson for 25 ml/Yr. Make home games great again…. Either way, we NEED a QB who wants to run, that’s the only way we have had success in the past since our line has always been 💩
Replace Geno with Sam, Draft Will Howard out Ohio State. Replace Ryan Grubb and Leslie Frazier with legit offensive coordinator/assistant head. Replace Aden Durde with experienced defensive coordinator.
Whoa. That’s a lot. What makes you think Frazier and Durde aren’t good to have around? Macdonald is the one running the defense. And I don’t think you’ll get your wish on Grubb, sure seems like they’re sticking with him.
I'm in on JJ Mcarthy. A meniscus tear is not a permanent injury( hes 21 yo) Has a quick release and athletic. Watch his tape. High level processor. And he's got 3 years left on rookie deal + 5th year option. Would free up ton$ of cap space.
I am surprised that Mason Rudolph never gets floated as a possible candidate for a reclamation project with the Seahawks. He has all of the physical attributes, he is shown better processing abilities in the last year or two, he beat the ass off of Seattle last year with Pittsburgh, he would be cheap, third round pick 76th overall, it seems like a great person to take a flyer on? Any reasons why not?
Because at best he’s serviceable. A lateral move. If you’re hell bent on saving money and hitting reset and going with a young QB no matter what I suppose he’d be a decent bridge, but I’d rather just keep Geno in that case n
I can see that. Think he hasn't been with the best teams with reputation for QB development. Definitely shows flashes of above average arm talent and since the first couple of years shows very much improved processing, probably cost a couple of million dollars for one year and would not be any kind of a downgrade from geno. Right quarterback coach might unlock something there all of the physical attributes are there?
@@SeahawksForeverDanViens If he's a lateral move in ability to Geno and we can get him cheap, he seems like the perfect bridge QB to me. Say goodbye to Geno. Use the saved cap money on OL. Still draft a QB that will replace Rudolph in a few years. Sounds like a good plan to me.
Move on from Gino, bring back Drew Lock and have him compete with Howell for the starting job, and with the savings up grade the O-line. I actually think Gino will stay, but I threw this out only if the team decides to go the cheap route.
Let Geno go, give Howell a year to show what he can do.Hall can back him up and you can still draft a q.b. Do not pay big for stop gap q.b. Use money saved by letting Geno go to improve line and other areas of need. Good backs, good line, and good play calling will let Sam be efficient. If he fails, no big deal he is cheap and on on last year of rookie contract.
This is exactly what I have been saying.Free up $ from Geno,Tyler,Dremont and likely others for other needs such as obviously #1 the O line and hopefully we have a down year and draft a qb high next year once there are more pieces in place to protect that qb.Keeping Geno will only cost $ that could otherwise help build the team aswell as only hurt the chances of getting a top rookie qb in the draft for the foreseeable future and no matter what Geno only has a couple years left anyways

Saw some intriguing things from joe Milton against the bills....
Jesus Christ. Internet 12s are getting worst every year. Literally insufferable.
Only TH-camr that calls out how dumb our fanbase is Murf over are TopBillin'
Stop feeding in dumb narratives.
Top Billin? He's clueless
Jaxon dart is the answer
Better help is a scam and have lost multiple lawsuits over it
I tried it once, they set me up with a therapist who blamed all my problems off my zodiac sign.
Geno is not going to win you a SB. He's too good to get you a top 10 pick and too bad to actually field a competitive team, at his current cap hit. If we want to get out of the 9/10 win purgatory, the hawks need to move on from Geno.
Geno isn't the problem
Geno is a great QB. Getting old so still need to look to the future.
No excuse for someone that has only 7k subscribers to take over 3:30 minutes to finally get into the topic
Please feel free to watch other shows.
Option 3 - Cut/trade Geno , sign a Vet and draft a QB.
Sign Carson Wentz and hire Frank Reich for OC. They had success together in Indy 2021.
No extension!
Limited resources. Fix the OL and get a new OC. If some lucky QB option materializes then fine. Scary stats.
If you watch how the chiefs win
They usually rely on Mahomes and Kelsey to take over the game and make dynamic plays that the other teams defense can’t stop. Do you really believe Geno can do this? Because I don’t think he can.
I say we should try to get Joe Milton or Justin Fields.
Kalen DeBoer's coaching style has a nasty glitch: when he gets his QBs to the title bout, and they falter, he abandons them for greener pastures. Do Not go by DeBoer's coaching. It's faulty.
I'm so sick of the idiots and morons blaming geno smith
Geno is good for another couple of years.sam can learn the system and maybe take over then.
one thing about Geno Smith he can't play under pressure..
I’m down with them taking Jaxson Dart
Get rid of Geno asap. HIS QBR which is most important stat is 24th out of 32. He is a curse on the team. I would get Fields as next best FA qb since Darnold is back with vikings. I would then draft Caleb Kubiak in next years draft.
I'm glad you're not in charge oh bitter one.
@SEPTEMBERMAN I think I would be an excellent GM for sure.
It's really not hard at all . Draft Jackson Dart no matter what it takes let him beat Gino out which he will do
My thoughts are that Frazier and Durde
Seeing Macdonald is calling the defense there is know reason to keep them around.
Nonsense….you don’t know what MM has in mind for play calling in the future….
What?! 🤦♂️👎
*no
Replace Geno take saved money and upgrade the offensive line.
You didn’t really listen to anything I said did you?
Malik Willis QB from GB would make a good learning QB under geno
Geno is not an elite quarterback.
Bring in Bryce Young and Zach Wilson as waterboys. JJ Mcarthy is the only QB out there that is obtainable and possibly better that Geno in a few years.
#3 move on from : Geno as there is always alternatives,
Also move on from Dre Jones, Noah Fant, Derik Hall, Rayshawn Jenkins.
No thank you on Richardson.
I like the talent but he's to injury prone. Maybe if they released Richardson I'd take a flyer but that's it.
38 is very cheap - what chose Seahawks have other than signing GENO 😢
Not a chance Minnesota parts with JJ McCarthy. Pure fantasy.
I say keep existing contract or extend. Geno may or may not be elite but he can’t succeed without a functional Oline and running game. No one can really.
KEEP GENO!
Geno takes all the blame for his TRASH O LINE.
I wanna see Geno with a competent o line
Why did we let Drew Lock go? He was a great backup.
Don’t get rid of Gino get rid of Snyder and draft some offensive lineman
How bout trade for Joe Milton? Guys got a cannon for an arm. Good speed....
He would play well there indoors cause he sucks outdoors the numbers tell it all
Joe milton?
I suspect if the Seahawks had about grade on him they’d have taken him before the 193rd pick.
@ Fair
Jaxson Dart!
LOB
Geno gots to go
We need to move on from Geno.
Seahawks fans. Most unedcated in the world
What are you hoping to accomplish with this comment?
As a Seahawks fan, I can't even disagree lmao
Based on what …you some genius?
This from the guy who misspelled 'uneducated'.
Learn to spell, absent-minded one.
DO NOT RELEASE GENO, 4,300 yard qb
We will never win with Geno
I saw that discussion and immediately decided it was BS. Are you quite sure Salk knows what he's talking about? I've heard a lot of silly stuff out of his mouth - particularly his continued rants to trade DK earlier this seaon...
Some can't walk and chew gum.... some can't run....and pass accurately.
But then there are those wonderful moments, or minutes of wonderful clarity....then all of a sudden...the wheels fall off and the ball goes to someone on the other team. But difficult subject or answer.
PLAY OUT HIS CONTRACT THEN SIGN FOR 1 YR (MAYBE) WITH SOMEONE IN THE WINGS
Draft a QB in the next year or two. Pawn Geno off.
pay Geno his finale year trade Dk drop Locket
Plot twist, we let Geno go and bring back Wilson for 25 ml/Yr. Make home games great again…. Either way, we NEED a QB who wants to run, that’s the only way we have had success in the past since our line has always been 💩
Replace Geno with Sam,
Draft Will Howard out Ohio State.
Aww nooo, I'm fine with all the coaches except Grub I would love to see an experienced OC
I'm in on JJ Mcarthy. A meniscus tear is not a permanent injury( hes 21 yo) Has a quick release and athletic. Watch his tape. High level processor. And he's got 3 years left on rookie deal + 5th year option. Would free up ton$ of cap space.
@@johnmariatucker9707nothing will happen until Vikes know what happens with Darnold….maybe not even then….
@brianmyers4444 Agreed! But the Dallas Turner trade cost vikings alot. They only have 3 picks in draft. Low 1st rounder and 2 day 3 picks.
At this point….remove both quarterbacks.
Baker mayfield too resurrected his career
Hard to have any faith in seahawks leadership
Geno is bad, he’s got to go 24/32 qbr. He’s the reason we sux.
Richatdson
Richardson
Can’t throw accurately.
He’s terrible. No.
@@SeahawksForeverDanViens lmao very blunt
Seahawks must draft QB 3rd round WILL HOWARD from OSU 🙏
Not gonna happen. Just sfu about this nonsense. Without an offensive line, it won't matter.
Go get cam ward
No way you can get up that high to take him.
Get rid of Gino he's no good for nothing
I would rather have Drew lock than Geno!
Still draft QB.
Thanks I appreciate the reply!
I still love Drew Lock 😂
I don't think he's the QB solution but he was definitely a good dude. Hated to see him go
Just tell us you take too long to say anything just talk and hurry up
Let Geno go, give Howell a year to show what he can do.Hall can back him up and you can still draft a q.b. Do not pay big for stop gap q.b. Use money saved by letting Geno go to improve line and other areas of need. Good backs, good line, and good play calling will let Sam be efficient. If he fails, no big deal he is cheap and on on last year of rookie contract.
Crazy
This is exactly what I have been saying.Free up $ from Geno,Tyler,Dremont and likely others for other needs such as obviously #1 the O line and hopefully we have a down year and draft a qb high next year once there are more pieces in place to protect that qb.Keeping Geno will only cost $ that could otherwise help build the team aswell as only hurt the chances of getting a top rookie qb in the draft for the foreseeable future and no matter what Geno only has a couple years left anyways
Sam Howell is an interception and sack machine and always will be.
@@princeseabronco5328 nope
Sell Geno.
