They did. You shouldn't flare it on landings, the big tail plane covers both the elevator and the rudder once the tail skid touches ground. Land it on the main gear and keep it level for as long as possible and let the speed bleed of until the tail falls through by it self.
Awesome WW1 planes, that look so cool and scale! Great landings for sure and then taking into account the winds they're flying in amazing for sure! Excellent camerawork, stills and editing mates! BIG thumbs up! Cheers chaps!
Hello Guys, help me please. A yellow plane with German decals landing at 0.20. It is very similar with Fokker E1 but the tail is different. Do you know anybody the type exactly? Thank's in advance! Regard Val.
I have to say true scale landings , i would think back in 1914 /1918 the fighter pilots only had a few hours flying time and then sent to a service unit so i should think most landings back then were bumps a daisy .lol
I love WWI aircraft, so this was very satisfying to watch - simply beautiful models flying!! 🥰👍
Glad you enjoyed it tim, check out our playlist of 8 more videos of ww1 landings here - th-cam.com/video/DrjeMCQf0pI/w-d-xo.html

A lot of those landings would have had me checking my drawers, but most ended well.
Fokker triplanes just seem most comfortable on their backs!
thanks doug, I wonder if the real fokkers tipped over as well ?
With that top wing adding so much mass above the CoG, I'd be surprised if they didn't!
