I already purchased de Caravan G . I have St Augustine grass. I live in Austin Tx . Most of my grass have fungi we put it 3 days ago . Do you think is enough for one year?
Good video Ron. The fungicide in Caravan G is azoxystrobin which works well on brown patch and other diseases, but not dollar spot. Also, you need to rotate fungicide classes so that you do not develop resistance issues. A good rotation would be Headway G which contains two different fungicide groups, group 11 azoxystrobin and group 3 propiconazole.
Thanks for making the point about rotating fungicides lambert1702. It’s not something I’ve done but certainly makes sense. Good call on Headway G which has an active ingredient specifically for dollar spot. 👍😎
Hey Ron...you keep my lawn addiction going...my neighbors think I’m crazy...looking at my lawn everyday for anything that catches my eye. Example: fungus, fire ants or grub worms. Great video!!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Love it Wize Guy. There are definitely worse things than spending time in your lawn regularly. Fungus and grub worms are especially nasty. I've dealt with both in my lawn which is why I believe in this product so much. Since switching to it, fungus and grub worms haven't been a thing in my lawn. The fact that I only need to apply it once per season is also really attractive. Glad that you're enjoying the content man. Let me know if I can help with anything else. 👍😎
I´ve got brown patch on my carpet grass turf! I have applied Scott´s Disease X during the past month. Probably due to the biblical deluge of rain to which La Niña is to blame, the results have been mixed! As some of the brown spots on the leafs of the grass have subsided and as it grows they get cut with my Scotts Elite 16". However, on other areas, it is as rampant as before! I rinse my mower when I change areas and use a spray on fungicide on the blades too to not spread the disease. Albeit, I do not stand on chlorine and water for my shoes... I should have use my bagger mower, albeit, I have been using my rake in my 2,000 sq.ft. of lawn. I also purchase Scott´s Grub-X. I haven't used it yet as I want to use it late in November when the last strong rainfall start to subside to save on water and enjoy the 4 month protection well into March when the grubs start to emerge until May! Thanks indeed for the recommendation and to where to buy the Caravan G!
You're welcome Robert. If you're still having lawn disease issues, try Headway G. Can get it or Caravan G here: golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide
Im loving your videos. They are the most concise and actually informative ive been able to find. They are real treat for a lawn nerd like myself. Dollar spot you can tell its that by looking at the blade and they will have what looks like burning that isnt from the top or bottom consistently. You will see green spots surrounded by burned out areas(for a lack of a term i can remember) and like dark rings around the green spots in the blade. where like grubs eating from The roots you will see consistent the grass dying from the top down because its trying to pull back to save the plant instead of it being a fungal disease that kills the blades where its contacted it.
Thanks Tyler. If you enjoyed this one, you'll definitely like these: Acelepryn G: th-cam.com/video/GypMS7TDmJw/w-d-xo.html Fungicides: th-cam.com/video/bzLFna5WAUI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching sir.
If you're dealing with armyworms, go with Acelepryn instead. If you do that, use Headway G for your fungicide. Can get both here: golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide
I love the simple combo products! However I have to spray on the regular to keep my PGR going so I do a lot of tank mixes. I mix tnex with 20-20-20 fert (always less then 0.2 N per 1,000 sqft), iron, and whatever insecticide or fungicide I want to apply. Your way is much more simple and clearly works.
Thanks Dangerlawn. I do like simple; especially when it comes to fungicides, insecticides and herbicides. There are liquid products that work well too but I've found Caravan G to be a great one and done type product that takes care of the nasties for the entire growing season so I don't need to think about it again. There's more than one way to get the same result though. If your method is working for you, then stick with it. 😎👍
Wow. Thanks for the expeditious reply, I was not expecting one. I am targeting dollar spot and brown patch and whatever is making little webs in the grass. I put down the product according to the recommendation on the bag.
Caravan-G is effective against brown patch. It doesn't target dollar spot. For dollar spot, you need different fungicide. Headway G or Pillar SC will control dollar spot. Headway G: golfcourselawn.store/products/headway-g-fungicide-granular Pillar SC: golfcourselawn.store/products/pillar-sc-fungicide-liquid-brown-patch-and-dollar-spot-control Hope this helps.
I understand. Although the product did not work on the brown patch and/or the insects that are still showing up in my yard. I would not recommend this product as totally effective. It may work to some degree, but for the price and lack of results I would recommend something else.
Thanks! I'm dealing with a fungus issue now.. yard has been beautiful but the past 3 years fungus has been an issue.. i cancelled nature's turf (im in atlanta too) becuz i don't need generic treatments.. i need what "my" lawn needs. i can do bad by myself... but far from bad is what ill be
I hear you Tony. Are you considering giving Caravan G a try? In addition to Caravan, make sure your lawn is also getting enough nitrogen. With warm season grass, maintaining proper nitrogen levels helps with keeping certain types of fungi (dollar spot) away. Let me know if I can help with anything.
Ron Henry I don’t like the price point but I am considering it. Last week I applied Spectracide Imminox with Insect control to the front yard and BioAdvanced to the back yard both in liquid form attached to the hose. So I’m waiting to see the 14 day results on that. The front has dollar spot the rear has several big dead patches but I shoveled the earth and saw no grubs and the few roots there were strong. I aerated a week ago as well. I put some top soil on the dead spots to help them recover fast.. grass tries to grow. I plan to put down a granular fertilizer later this week. I think it’s Scott’s Summer Lawn Food
Ron Henry Update: I tried the BioAdvanced in the backyard and Spectracide Immunox in the front.. the front showed progress so after 14 days I applied Immunox on both the front and backyard. Using a water hose sprayer. All the dollarspot was gone after the second treatment in the entire yard. Immunox is my goto next time. Just gotta remember to only partly turn on your water so the chemical doesn’t evacuate too quickly
Gotcha BermudaLawnNC. That combination coupled with a healthy nitrogen diet should keep fungus out of the lawn. Did you apply as a preventative measure or were you dealing with lawn fungus?
Thanks for the insight into Caravan G, Ron. Was not aware of the combination product But frankly, I have to question using the one-product-for-all approach in the spring, at least based upon the published information for best use of the insecticide and fungicide components in Caravan. From what I have read, insecticides like thiamethoxam - the active ingredient in Caravan - work best on active grub infestations which usually occur in mid to late June and into July. The insecticide is supposed to somewhat break down and be less effective if applied in early spring. On the other hand, Insecticides like Chlorantraniliprole - the active ingredient in Grubex - are designed to break down more slowly so that they can be applied in early spring. The approach I have been using is to apply Grubex in the spring - and then use a product like Headway G or Strobe G - which I believe contain the same fungicides as that in Caravan - in June when the weather turns more hot and humid. By separating the two in this way, you get to apply them at their supposedly optimum times. At least that's the way I have been doing things the past several years, and it has been effective for me. By the way, I have no vested/commercial interest in any of these products. I am simply a homeowner seeking to sensibly control both fungus and insect problems. And I live in the New York metro area, as a reference point re time of year.
Thanks for chiming in Steve. You're right that Caravan G is best applied in May/June while Acelepryn can be applied much earlier in the season. The fungicide component is good for 28 days or so. If treating an active fungus issue you'd want to follow up Caravan G with Heritage or Headway G depending on the fungus problem you're facing. Appreciate you watching.
Lol loved your on the caravan g train. I will have to further investigate to learn diy, our pest & lawn guys ruined our yard big time now I do not trust another company coming in. Great video.
Glad you found it useful Yoly. Caravan is a great combination product. If all you need is fungicide, then consider Headway G: golfcourselawn.store/products/headway-g-fungicide-granular
An even better product Tim is Acelepryn. I recently did a video on it here. Awesome stuff. Thanks for watching. th-cam.com/video/GypMS7TDmJw/w-d-xo.html
Hi Antonio. For a combination product, Caravan is a good choice. golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide/products/caravan-g-insecticide-and-fungicide If you want them separated, then Headway for fungicide and Acelepryn for insecticide. golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide/products/acelepryn-g-insecticide-grub-and-armyworm-control golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide/products/headway-g-fungicide-granular Hope this helps.
Hi Ron great video, the only issue for me is that I live in New York. And cannot get Caravan G, what other options do I have for my lawn? Please inform. Thx!

Thank you so much for the information, I've been fighting brown patch for the last year. Been using Lowe's and Home Depot products but going to try your solution. Thanks
🌞 Yes, that is a great product! High priced online, but not too bad at a local Ewings. Only used once per year actually saves money in the long run. Extra money for your Milo! 😀
Hi Mark. Yes, you can use Caravan G on a fescue lawn. I don't see any grass restrictions on the label. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks for watching.
Yep. You’re good to go Jeanpierre. Just be sure to apply at the correct rate on the bag. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks for watching the content.
Hi gg jin. Now into June is a great time to apply it. If all you need is a fungicide, check out this other video I did that has some great options: th-cam.com/video/bzLFna5WAUI/w-d-xo.html
FYI, azoxystrobin will not treat dollar spot. I think you were meaning to discuss brown patch. There are cheaper sources of azoxystrobin. Also, grub prevention is better than fighting grub infestation. This product would be best applied as a preventative using a split application in the spring (although grubs are likely too large to be affected in the spring) and again in June/July to target eggs and grubs up to 2 instar. This insecticide works similar to imidacloprid so Temprid FX is another alternative. Personally I like liquid insecticides and fungicides. Spraying is so much easier, and with the right tip, application of a systemic product is very consistent.
Thanks for sharing your experience SMK. Headway G has both azoxystrobin and propiconazole but I've found that by using azoxystrobin and keeping nitrogen levels where they need to be, I've not had to use a product with both fungicides. I really like the Caravan G product because I've had excellent results with over the past 3 years since I started using it. I used to use several different products (one for grubs, another for ants and another for lawn fungus). Those various products (and time associated with applying them) has been reduced to 1. Everyone might not get the same result as me, but several other people that I've recommended the product to have had great results as well. Depending on your setup I can definitely see how spraying would be easier. 👍
@@Eli-qr9hc Really once per season. If all you care about is lawn disease, Headway G or Pillar SC are better choices. Headway is granular. Pillar SC is liquid. You'd do an initial application and then perform a follow up 21 days later. That should clear up what you're dealing with. Great video! I have had a large brown spot on my lawn for 3 years can't get rid of it. Going to buy this now! Can I use this and also their down my fertilizer at the same time?
Hi Steven. Yes you can apply the same day you apply fertilizer. The 2 products work differently. Are you certain it's a fungus issue and not some debris (large rock, concrete, etc) under the bare area?
First I have been introduced to this product, Thanks! One important thing to mention is that Azoxystrobin is not labeled to control Dollar Spot, which is a common disease in reel-mowed Bermuda. I would recommend supplementing this with with a product containing Propiconazole for dollar spot control. We should discuss fungicide resistance too but that’s a whole new video!
Great advice Brian. Syngenta's Headway G product amzn.to/2VoyWhm contains the Azoxystrobin and Propiconazole stack that you're referring to. I've had such good results with Caravan G which only contains Azoxystrobin that I haven't had a need to add an additional fungicide. I also tend to keep a healthy level of nitrogen in my lawn which also helps keep dollar spot away. Thanks again for sharing. Great comment! 👍😎
Hi Chris. I get the same thing occasionally. I don't do anything about them as they tend to die off by mid morning once it starts to warm up. How many are you dealing with?
Ron Henry I just checked and it looks like there are a couple more that I noticed from the other day when I first noticed them, looks like now there is about a dozen or so, but they are spread out !!
Heya Ivan. Yep! Not too far from Buford. Thanks for watching the content. Happy that you found the content useful. Let me know if I can answer or help with anything.
Does this product both kill AND prevent insects/grubs? If so, what is the prevention period? You mentioned applying in April, does that mean it will act as a prevention from April all the way through October when temps start going below 55F?
Hi Todd. It takes care of ants and grubs yes. I might have to kill the occasional ant hill in late July / August but even that's very rare. Literally I apply this product once per year on my lawn and I haven't had any issues with grubs or fungus. I've been using it for 3 years. I should have made a video on it sooner. I've just been receiving emails about fungus and grubs so I figured I'd share what's been working for me. Hope this helps.😎
Hi Bdawg02. Top dressing can help with grass growth but Caravan G won't have any influence on the grass growing in. It's strictly a combination fungicide and insecticide product.
Ron, If nitrogen feeds fungicide then why is it good to use all in one, when theres brown active patches? There SHOULD BE exceptions mentioned, and teachings accordingly. Bill
@@RonHenry Ron, Im not at all contending the info you provide is very solid and I use your advise. It is however a fact that nitrogen promotes fungus, simply google search "does nitrogen feed fungus". So knowing this Im looking into a better approach. At this time Im applying 10 lbs caravan G/mnth on the light side, seeing the fungicide is monthly, and fertilize/atrazine seasonally on Citrablue grass. Bill
My bermuda grass has the brown spot on the same exact area every year. What are the odds of it being fungus? Front yard and we don’t really walk on it and no chemical burn
Does it improve as the season progresses Junior? If so, it's quite possibly spring dead spot. There also may be some debris under the surface that's causing the problem.
Awesome XXTHEBIGKEVXX. It's good stuff. Great preventative product to keep nastiness out of your lawn. This product coupled with a good fertilization program should do wonders for keeping your lawn healthy.
Is this product safe for new sod? I have new Bermuda sod. Everything was going well. However, I have two large sections that were green. Now they are turning brown.
Great video and info, I will definitely give this a try. Question how can I tell the difference between brown patch and heat stress. I applied a fungus and grubworm application in late April/early May and my lawn has big brown spots on my side and front of my lawn. Any help/video would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Without seeing pictures of the lawn, it's tough to say spidey197012. If your soil is healthy (verified by soil testing) and you're watering enough (1 - 1.5") per week for Bermuda, heat stress shouldn't be terribly bad. When my lawn has turned brown from heat stress, it's always started in the highest points of the lawn since those areas hold the least amount of water. Feel free to send me pictures if you like ron@ron-henry.com 😎👍
Hello Ron. This is my 2nd str8 year I get Grey leaf spot in my Zoyzia. It's pretty much in the same place as it was last yr. I pretty much scalped my lawn in the spring and applied Lebanon Fungicide. When I cut my lawn a few days ago, I noticed some more oval spots on the blades, just like last yr. I am going to cut back to watering once a week, and not apply any herbicide to prevent stressing the lawn out. Any suggestions to kill it for good? Thx Ron
Killing it for good isn't easy TJohnson. What I would do next is consider switching fungicides. Caravan only has azoxystrobin. I'd give Pillar SC a try. It contains 2 different fungicides which helps it control diseases better. golfcourselawn.store/products/pillar-sc-fungicide-liquid-brown-patch-and-dollar-spot-control Hope this helps.
Hi Don. If you need an insecticide too then yes. It contains the same fungicide as Heritage G but also includes insecticide to take care of grubs and other lawn pests. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Can get it here: ron-henry.com/caravang
Hi..good video..I just put down headway G for my dollar spot and wanted to know when should I start seeing recovery? Do you recommend a second application?
In a couple weeks you should see the damaged grass recovering. You can do a follow up application 28 days after the initial. That should be enough to take care of it for this season.
I love your content. It's been a huge help as I try to learn the ropes of lawn care. I do have a question. Have you looked at adding silicon to your turf? I'm trying it out on my Bermuda lawn right now as it's supposed to help the lawn naturally fight disease and environmental stress impact.
I really appreciate it Corey. That's the goal. To share the mistakes I've made with my lawn to speed up the process for someone else. I've put lots of sand on my lawn which I guess is technically silicon? 😎 I've not heard of it being a natural disease deterrent but then again, I've not recently had any issued with fungus or disease in my lawn since I started top dressing; and using Caravan G. 👍😎
Hi Yvonne. Depending on where you are KBG may require 2 - 2.5" of water per week as temperatures go up. If the turf isn't heat stressed you can get away with less.
Hi Tm. I would apply it to the sod itself instead of the bare sod. The active ingredient in Caravan G (azoxystrobin) is absorbed both by the grass foliage and roots. Though not related to fungicide or insecticide, I would apply a carbon soil amendment treatment like Carbon Pro G to the bare soil before applying sod. Hope this helps.
Great informative video. However, I noticed spreader settings are for professional spreaders. Does anyone know the setting for Scotts speedy-green 2000/ 3000 models? Please, no math formula's.
Hi Stan. I found a spreader conversion chart for you here: storcoopmediafilesprd.blob.core.windows.net/atlasportals/all-media/centralregioncooperative/documents/residential_spreader_settings.pdf Let me know if that does the trick. Thanks for watching the content. 😎👍
Caravan G is a combination insecticide and fungicide while Headway G is strictly a fungicide. If your goal is to control disease, Headway G is a better choice.
Ron Henry sure perhaps since I am not on rush I can get the bag for the 85$ you mention during the winter. That's what I did with Tenacity too last year 😜
Sounds great, Ron. Great video. You mentioned an early April application. What area of the country are you from? I'm in the mid-west (actually St Louis). Would early April still be suggested? Or later in the season?
Hey Ron I put down some Grub X and Disease control by Scott's, I will following up in a week with your recommended product. Should I continue to water my grass it's in the high 80's? Thanks
Hi Yvonne. If your lawn is Bermuda, it really only need 1 - 1.5” of water per week. How is the lawn looking? I wouldn’t water anymore than 1.5” per week. Too much watering can cause fungus issues in the lawn. Let me know if I can help with anything else. 👍😎
You're right Tom. If you're not dealing with an active fungus issue, a single application in May/June is great as preventative. If you're using it to cure an existing fungus issue, a follow up application with Heritage or Headway G in a 21 - 28 days is a good idea. I have a video here on them: th-cam.com/video/bzLFna5WAUI/w-d-xo.html
I had the problem last year of my grass turning brown and dying a couple of areas so I bought this stuff. I'm in New York so it's the middle of spring. It's just a good time to apply?
Hi night owls. Are you sure you grass is dying due to fungus or grub issues? If so, then "Yes" now is a great time to apply. Even if you're using it as a preventative, now would be a good time. There are several reasons for grass to turn brown. Not all of them are related to fungus issues. With all that said, if you've not applied a fungicide or insecticide to your lawn as yet, Caravan G is an excellent choice. If you'd like to see a more up to date video that covers it in detail, check this out: th-cam.com/video/bzLFna5WAUI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching.
@@RonHenry thanks so much! I have ample irrigation on the lawn, I fertilize and mow properly, so I'm 95% sure it's one of those issues. Great videos btw. Was having those issues last year, came across your video and bought the product then. Searched for it again and rewatched.
Good information. I think I've almost figured out a good maintenance plan for Tall Fescue. I know my fungicide game was lacking this year. I'm in the Charlotte, NC area. My local sod and seed provider has a recommended program that I intend to follow. It lists monthly Headway G applications for May, June, July and August. I'm working with 16,000 square feet. Based on the application rate, Headway G will cost me dearly. You think one application of Caravan G will get me through the entire summer?
Hi Deon. That seems like a lot of fungicide to be applying monthly? Do you have a fungus problem that you're dealing with? Headway G is has an additional active ingredient for lawn fungus so it should be more effective that Caravan G. Having said that, I wouldn't apply fungicide to your lawn monthly unless there's some issue you're dealing with. I've never done that. Spring and Fall applications should be more than enough. If you keep the soil healthy and mow regularly, you should have far less issues with lawn fungus. The only product you should be having to apply monthly to a warm season lawn during the growing season is nitrogen. Granted, I also apply PGR and carbon products but that's to decrease mowing requirements and improve soil health. I'm from the school of that that herbicides and fungicides should be used sparingly when required.
Hi Don Flash. Once you apply the fungicide the outbreak should stop which will allow the grass to grow back in. You shouldn’t have to dig anything up. The grass will fill back in over a couple weeks. If you’d like to see an issue I dealt with in my lawn and how it recovered, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/bzLFna5WAUI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching.
Heya Reef. The Edgeguard isn't listed on the label but the precision green is. I would start at a fairly low setting of 4 and see what kind of coverage you're getting. The label specifies 3.5 - 4.5 for the Scotts Precision Green spreader: www.domyown.com/msds/Caravan_G_Label.pdf
New subscriber here... love your content... Question: I have a fungus and possibly a grub problem on my Kentucky Bluegrass. Sod was put down in early June too. Since it's mid-August, can I apply Caravan G now?
You can FNMCaffeine. Caravan G is a great choice if you also need an insecticide. If you're wanting to just treat lawn fungus, then Headway G is a better option. It contains 2 active ingredients. ron-henry.com/headwayg Hope this helps. Appreciate you subscribing!
Hi Linwood Scott. Are you certain that the brown areas are from fungus and not heat stress? It won't hurt to put Caravan G down now but I'd also want us to look at your watering to make sure the turf isn't drying out too much. Also, are you keeping adequate nitrogen in the lawn?

Hi Sheril. Yes they're better for Zoysia because of how they cut the grass. Zoysia is happiest when mowed between 1 - 2 inches which is really difficult to do with a rotary mower without scalping the turf. You can still apply Caravan G now. It's a fungicide and insecticide so it's not like pre-emergent where there's an idea time of the year to put it down. Applying it now should take care of grubs and lawn fungi in your turf for the remainder of this growing season. Let me know if I can help with anything else! 😎👍
Hi Ron I am having trouble finding a place for peat moss but it’s all sold out at big box stores. What kind should I look for to do my over seeding and how much would I need for 3200 Sq ft of turf? I will probably have to order and have delivered. Also what should I do with dead grass spots from brown patch/ disease before getting someone to core aerate?
Hi Donna. Hmmm. If the big box stores don't have it, you might be able to find it at places that sell top soil or and sand in bulk. That's where I would look outside of the big box stores. If you can, get some azoxystrobin down prior to overseeding. That should knock out the fungus issue. Can get it here in granular form. ron-henry.com/heritageg Hope this helps.

Lincoln. There's a product from Mirimichi green called 9-0-1 C that's also very good. It contains about 9% nitrogen so if you're looking for a nitrogen hit in addition to adding carbon, that could be a good option. I'm not sure if it's available in 1 gallon volumes though.
Thanks Ron I will wait a few more weeks but typically I get hit with bad fungus every year end of June and the rest of the summer. You still recommend I apply caravan G one time in Beginning of April here in south jersey? This will prevent fungus all summer?
Hi Nick. I would get the Caravab G down a few weeks prior to when you normally have issues with fungus. When it comes to those types of problems, every lawn is slightly difference. For my lawn I’ve had good success with late April/early May applications. It will prevent fungus for up to 21 days.

Thanks Christian. I appreciate you watching sir.
Going to give this a try. Out here in Firestone CO. most yards have really taken a hit. Fungicide nor insecticide seems to be working.
If you're dealing with armyworms, go with Acelepryn instead. If you do that, use Headway G for your fungicide. Can get both here: golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide
Another nice video!
Glad you enjoyed DS!
Headway G: golfcourselawn.store/products/headway-g-fungicide-granular
Pillar SC: golfcourselawn.store/products/pillar-sc-fungicide-liquid-brown-patch-and-dollar-spot-control
Hope this helps.
That's a good idea Tony. Keeping enough nitrogen in the lawn is a great way to prevent dollar spot. Let me know how it works out. 😎
@@OfficiallyTonyGianni that's awesome. Glad that you found a product that knocked out the fungus issue. Good deal. 👍😎
Is this good for St. Augustine turf in Northeast Florida for gray leaf spot?

Since u asked I use azoystrobin (spelling?) via disease Ex and spray propiconisole.
Gotcha BermudaLawnNC. That combination coupled with a healthy nitrogen diet should keep fungus out of the lawn. Did you apply as a preventative measure or were you dealing with lawn fungus?
Ron Henry preventative
Good deal.

Also all my lawns are st Augustine lawns
Caravan will work on St. Augustine lawns. golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide/products/caravan-g-insecticide-and-fungicide
Does caravan g come in a liquid form or water soluble
To my knowledge only granular
I wonder if this would help my zoysia lawn. There is a 6’x12’ spot that’s green with gray/yellowish spotting. And if so how to apply and directions

@@Eli-qr9hc Really once per season. If all you care about is lawn disease, Headway G or Pillar SC are better choices. Headway is granular. Pillar SC is liquid. You'd do an initial application and then perform a follow up 21 days later. That should clear up what you're dealing with.

This product available in canada
I don't believe so Nancy.

Hi Chris. Is the area where the mushrooms are sprouting really damp with poor drainage?
Ron Henry no sir, they are in my backyard which is a slight incline so the drainage is really good !!
That sounds like what I get Chris. Every now and then, I'll get a mushroom or 2 sprouting up but usually gone before lunch once the heat comes up.

Does Top Dress over dirt patches help grass to regrow with caravan g use?
Hi Bdawg02. Top dressing can help with grass growth but Caravan G won't have any influence on the grass growing in. It's strictly a combination fungicide and insecticide product.

Nitrogen feeds fungicide? Where did you hear this?
@@RonHenry Ron, Im not at all contending the info you provide is very solid and I use your advise. It is however a fact that nitrogen promotes fungus, simply google search "does nitrogen feed fungus". So knowing this Im looking into a better approach.

Yep. It's safe for new sod Jason. Just ensure you stick to the application rates on the label and you're good to go.

Hi..good video..I just put down headway G for my dollar spot and wanted to know when should I start seeing recovery? Do you recommend a second application?

I really appreciate it Corey. That's the goal. To share the mistakes I've made with my lawn to speed up the process for someone else. Let’s say you’re planning to drop new sod... would you apply this to the bare soil first?

Great video Ron. One question. I thought fungicides only had an efficacy of 21-28 days? Could you clarify
New subscriber here. I have 2 large brown patches. Probably fungus. I will treat it. Will it come back green or will I have to dig up and plant seed?
Hi Don Flash. Once you apply the fungicide the outbreak should stop which will allow the grass to grow back in. You shouldn’t have to dig anything up. The grass will fill back in over a couple weeks. If you’d like to see an issue I dealt with in my lawn and how it recovered, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/bzLFna5WAUI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching.
Ron, would there be any issue with applying Caravan G three weeks after a Scott’s Disease Ex application?
I’d give it 28 days Daniel B
I'm trying to get rid of the browns patches for my school soccer field. its December. Can I put it down now?
Yessir. Go with Headway G. It's a better fungicide: Headway G on Amazon: amzn.to/3eKsvNr
@@RonHenry thank you so much. How many bags will I need for my Soccer field?
7 at the low rate. 13 at the high rate sir.
Hey brother I'm applying this, this week, do you know if that's the same setting for scotts edge guard dlx?
@@RonHenry Thanks Ron for the quick reply! BTW, what's the difference between Headway G vs Heritage G?
Ron we are at end of June. Just noticed my lawn starting to see the brown areas. Can I use the Cavan G now
Hi Linwood Scott. Are you certain that the brown areas are from fungus and not heat stress? It won't hurt to put Caravan G down now but I'd also want us to look at your watering to make sure the turf isn't drying out too much. Also, are you keeping adequate nitrogen in the lawn?
@@RonHenry caravan g will be purchased. Had lawn care company come out and it is brown patch. Had my soul test done and the N, P, Fe, Mn , Zn were high. S, Cu and B were low. Any products that I can put down in July? I’m in Maryland.
@@RonHenry the My Soil Test suggested a pH & micronutrient product but not sure what to select.
@@linwoodscott2658Hi Linwood, this will work given your soil deficiencies. golfcourselawn.store/products/12-12-12-starter-fertilizer-with-3-iron-and-bio-nite%E2%84%A2-granular-lawn-fertilizer

Is a reel mower better for zoysia lawns, as well? Is it too late to apply Caravan G now, in late June?
@@RonHenry Thank you, Ron!! Appreciate the response.
No problem at all Sheril!
@@RonHenry Azoxystrobin the same as Disease Ex? I just applied that for the second time this month and last done in July with Fungicide to follow at that time. I just purchased Propiconazole 14.3 is that ok to put down now before aeration an seeding. What should I do with the dead grass?
I get brown patch fungus every year. In Texas sept we start lower temps in nights. About early oct I get brown patch. Knowing that when would u apply this product ? Course I need to kill worms\ chinch bugs but I can use spectricide for that I just DO NOT want patch. So if I got this stuff when would u apply ?
If your primary goal is to get rid of the brown patch, you'll want to use Headway G. amzn.to/3aEIrRZ The ideal time to apply it is in the early fall before the brown patch develops. For taking care of grubs you can use Caravan G. It's best applied between May and July: amzn.to/2Kti0Eq Let me know if I can help with anything else. 😎👍
Is it anything as good or better than Carbon Pro or an online place to order? The Site One in my city never have the gallon size and I don't want to buy the 2.5 gal.
Lincoln. There's a product from Mirimichi green called 9-0-1 C that's also very good. It contains about 9% nitrogen so if you're looking for a nitrogen hit in addition to adding carbon, that could be a good option. I'm not sure if it's available in 1 gallon volumes though.
@@RonHenry Thanks so much for replying and all the the good information you provide.
No problem at all Lincoln. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Caravan's web site says it provides 1 month of fungus protection. The insecticide is all season just to clarify.
Sounds good Roy. Thanks for pointing that out. 😎👍
If fungus is your main concern and don’t need insecticide, you might consider Headway G which is a better fungicide that protects for a few weeks longer. You can get Headway G here: ron-henry.com/headwayg
That was a great way to explaine the difference of the two visually.
Glad you liked it Greenpea. Thanks for watching.
