I caught a 4.25lb smallmouth at Willow this past weekend. I was using a 4' 6" micro rod, felt like i was pulling in a whale. River looks fun, I'll have to try it once I bring my kayak home.

I love topwater, but the grass at the river makes it so stressful. How do you deal with that?

how far downstream do you typically kayak from your launch location? Is that current hard to kayak back up?
@BRANDAM I get dropped off upstream and picked up downstream. I usually cover a few miles
