      If only...I'm in a real pickle! Always have been fit and active, lean...Halt age 47 mystery bowel cancer arrives and rocks my world as such,ok I'm still here to tell the tale so ..I'm winning (sort of) age 48 whack Menopause strikes!! My god 🤦‍♀️...12 months on age 49 and already 3 stone heavier and not because of over eating as I can't as I have half of my insides missing now thanks to cancer...anyway..6 months later and smack..just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ seriously what the bleep! I'm as round as I am tall practically but only the middle section...I'm totally devastated in what's happening with me and I just can't drop even a pound! I survive on next to nothing as I can't eat anything with sugar or fatty...Help 😢

    Great video Dani. I did WW for a while and lost 40 lbs. However, it was temporary as the diet itself is unrealistic due to it's severe calorie deficit. Because of that, I gained 20 lbs immediately after.
    But now, my wife and I have really turned our eating habits around. We have been making significantly more meals at home (with help of your recipes!), incorporating more fruits and veggies. Slowly, we are seeing improvements!
    Thanks for your videos as you really do make a positive impact with your recipes, good advice and positive attitude!

      Thanks for sharing this, Mike. I know a lot of people (including myself) can relate. Weight loss can feel tricky - especially because the diet industry is always selling us quick fixes. But when approached with ease, patience, and a bit of resilience - we really can create those day-to-day changes that result in lasting weight loss.

      @@CleanandDeliciousDani I want to ask you about having to add protein powders and other supplements into the diet once I, as a 61 year old woman, have physically and metabolically changed due to aging and menopause and all the fun stuff. I normally don't add much protein source to my meals naturally. I sway more to a vegetarian menu than flesh foods. But because of what I hear, that is that I need more protein in my diet, I am making sure to have eggs in the morning or a nice protein-packed yogurt. And for supper I do have a piece of chicken or other flesh source. All this said, what are you thoughts on a changing menu as we change. Thank you!! There just is so much information that it is too much to juggle. I feel that as we age, we need less food but more nutrition in what we do choose to eat. Thanks, again!!!! HUGS

    Wonderful tips. However, when you are properly hydrated your urine is light yellow (think pale lemonade) not clear! Clear is over hydration and can lead to kidney issues, cellular issues and sodium level issues which lead to wider organ issues. (I grew up with kidney issues and am overly informed from specialists at this point!! ) so shoot for pale yellow not clear for health! Thanks for an informative video!

    Great video, and on point, as always.
    I'm not on a weight loss journey myself anymore, but I still need to work on a few of these. My biggest thing is getting enough water during the day. I think I need to experiment with some infused water recipes to mix it up.
    As for the mindset piece and being gentler with ourselves, one modality of therapy that can work quite well is called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The negative thoughts we have are going to come up and, many times, we automatically believe those thoughts are accurate. In ACT, one of the principles is to separate ourselves from our thoughts. At the end of the day, we can't necessarily control our thoughts, but we can notice them and decide to give them power. So if I have the thought, "I am worthless," I would try to notice I am having that thought and re-frame it by saying to myself, "I am having the thought that I am worthless." I know it may sound silly, but it can be really helpful because it's helping us to divorce this idea that every thought is going to help us.

    • @CleanandDeliciousDani
      @CleanandDeliciousDani  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never heard of ACT (I will look into it for sure!) BUT very much relate to and align with this approach to self-work. AND your example does not sound silly at all - I actually use this myself when journaling and when working with clients. Our brains can do some funny things - so the practice of separating self from thoughts is powerful! As always - thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback! So glad you are a part of this C&DFam!

    I often wonder when is the right time to show a video like this to a child. It often reminds me of that joke of a baby needing their first therapist as soon as he/she is born from day one because birth is traumatic. They need to be given a ribbon and maybe even a cake as a reward for showing up. It's not like the mother did any of the work. This video had good intentions I believe, but I think it really lack the full reality of the situation that a person would experience and unfortunately I would not be able to explain all of the points that you touched upon. So I'll just mention a few. First off is the price. It's easy to talk about quality, but in the real world price rules. So as an example someone making $12.50-15/hr with a kid and their rents around $1,300 with anaverage home is $420k for a shack. That person isn't thinking about oh I'll just go out and buy organic whole foods and $7 cage-free eggs and la di da. Well first off they can't even afford to shop at whole foods lol and two their soul has already been crushed from their manual labor job and their child. I'm sure the idea of everybody eating whenever they want to and having the dishes and pans pile up in the kitchen will be perfectly fine for the mother as she tells everyone to honor and listen to their bodies. She can never invite anyone over and feel proud of her home. She must protect her family from all those bullies who call her place a pig stye. Her child tells her mother she's going to watch how to eat more healthy and be mindful on TH-cam as she carries a huge plate of food into her bedroom and locks the door. That's great news the mother says as she's vacuums the hallway full of candy wrapper, and some nacho cheese from the night before.
    People read comments before they watch the video that's how short of attention span viewers have. They won't even know how many steps you have in this video. Most people usually only have two steps in their food plan. Rule 1) hope. Rule 2 Follow rule one. In the future people will go to prison for inappropriately touching their feelings.
