I have really enjoyed listening to your videos in the last month. This is my first question about coins to anyone. I recently started looking through coins for fun. One day I ran across an ugly coin that I thought was nothing but then I recalled your mentioning error coins and ugly coins. I thought I should find out if it was damaged while making the coin or if it was damaged later in circulation. Would you be able to help me? Perhaps you could send me in a direction to get help? I certainly understand if you are too busy to find an answer to my question. Thanks for your time.

My daughter just found a 1968 dime as well. Now we are up to four. Two 1968's (no mints), and two 1975's(w/no mint). Nervous to see the outcome, but I Think I hit the jackpot! By the way, Thank you for all your insightful knowledge, and that upbeat attitude. Sometimes it's very hard to watch some of the other informational coin videos on TH-cam, they tend to put me to sleep. Stay cool, and HAPPY HUNTING! 🤗🤑
Yo I have a 1979 D dime... apparently there are no errors, but I have a double die on the D? Do have any ideas?
Unfortunately this is not pocket change it’s all mint state coins and something that we won’t find in circulation as u know u need to fix your video, but I still gave u a like

I just found a 1974 dime with the S mintmark on the reverse AND the S is on the right side of the torch instead of the left side where it would normally be. Of course on the dimes that had mintmarks on the reverse! Lol.. But this dime is extremely cool !!
Hey Justin, I was watching this video and after you talked about 9 dimes from the 70s the.video went to an advertisement. When it went back to your video all of a sudden you're talking about dimes from the 90s. How many dimes from the 70s were you planning on teaching about?

I have a dime from 1976 missing clad layer on both sides is it worth anything or worth getting graded?
most likely water damage, if you look into any water fountain with clad coins thrown in, youll realize that some are missing both clad layers, I personally found these in a dryed up water fountain so that coin probably got the clad stripped off from the chemicals in a water fountain, or some other way.

@@darthroger8246 ok so i was halfway wrong, the coin was probably oxidized, meaning a chemical reaction attacked one of the metals, specifically the copper used in the copper-nickel compound that makes the outer layer of a dime or the clad. clad is a term used to describe something that covers something else, the clad covers the pure copper core of a dime. when the copper in the clad is exposed to oxidizing agent, such as oxygen, the coins copper is oxidized in a chemical reaction turning copper into copper oxide making the dime brown, this process is extremely speed up by heat. this is the same process that makes nails rusty. water can also be an oxidizing agent, and in fountains chlorine is an extreme oxidizing agent. Thats why i found so many in a dried up fountain. an oxidized dime will buy u no different from a regular one, if u want to get it graded though, or sell it if there is some other rarity, than it could be classified as toned brown, accept dimes aren't really supposed to be toned brown, so it would probably sell for alot less, unless it was thought of as unique which could definitely happen.

Hey there I have a question. So if there are noticeable markings on just certain letters, like a couple of letters are not deeply etched out like the rest, but the coin is in a good shape and not worn out. How would you know if it's a production error and not something done during spending rotation?

Hey I think I have a error dime. 1970 D dime. Has a line going from forehead and curves to the back of head below where the hair parts. Also have a 1973 nickel that the edge is offset and In God We Trust is going into the edge band.

What website do I use to check coins
I have a 1970's something Roosevelt dime, I think it's 1977, not sure. I'm sending you pics of it, I'm not sure if it's errors or if someone did what's done to the dime ???a long the outer edge though where it should have ripples, it looks like someone cut the edges off, but it still has the ripples, that's one reason I think the errors are mint caused. Please let me know what you think, I can't find it anywhere online, please and thank you.

All of em are pretty seriously worn. I need to get one of the magnifying things tho.
I'm getting into coins. I've collected a few west mint quarters. Pretty decent shape..I'd say 8 out of 10 maybe even 9.
But I have no clue where to take em or who to contact even if I actually found something.
Hopefully I'll figure that out too in time.

I'm confused about the 70 with reverse of 68 dime. When I look at a regular 68 reverse on PCGS, It doesn't look like the image for a 1970 with rev of 68. A regular 1968 rev is missing those two deep valleys on torch tip. In fact the rev of a 68 looks like a rev of a regular 70. Another thing, the 1970 w/ rev of 68 has the same rev as all dimes up until 1979. This makes no sense.
