Your approach is exactly what another channel called The ACS Library did. It's just that whoever ran that channel seemingly abandoned it before he got through the whole ACS so I'll be looking forward to your videos for sure. Thanks!

Yes he was who inspired me! Except I wanted it to be a more classroom like experience, and also finish the series!
Some of his information has become outdated as mine eventually will too, but I will make sure to keep the channel up to date!

My oral is 4 hours for Private Pilot Check-ride. Everything outlined above is in ACS is tons of information. Also, my DPE states you need it by memory. You are not allowed to look up anything up in the FAR-AIM. No looking up anything. The Oral is way more difficult than the written exam. The DPE will try to trip you up to state something incorrect. If you get an answer incorrect, than the DPE will go down an audit trail. If you fail a question, more than two questions, you will fail your oral. Yes, be scared of your oral. It's not fun at all.

Sounds like you have an extremely militaristic DPE. I would bet money he actually did serve in the military. Definitely the worst kind of DPE to get. Feels like they have something to prove with every question, I’ve been there man. But this is not the case for all, DPE’s and I would say the high majority of them are not that strict.
Also being able to reference the FAR/AIM is a crucial skill, there are thousands of paragraphs of verbiage that apply to you as a student/ private, and I hate to say it but you’re not memorizing all of it, and that’s where being able to reference the regulations quickly comes in handy.
Now I do think it’s best that DPE’s are very strict to be honest, while it may suck while you’re trying to get your own license. There’s been too many incidents lately, and I believe we can crack down on the amount of incidents and accidents if we are constantly keeping our standards high, as a strict DPE may do.
That being said, it’s also important that your DPE is being fair, I’ve heard stories from women pilots around me about DPE’s seemingly treating them differently, whether that be, giving them a harder time, giving them an easier time, either way, it’s not right, and if you feel your DPE is going to make your life hard simply because he doesn’t like you, or has something to prove, or has to make sure his pass rate is where he wants it… I highly highly recommend finding a different DPE as hard as it may be. But if he’s just harsh, while fair, I wish you good luck.

@@Simpli-FlyIt Yep, the DPE stated that he did serve in the military. And yes, I do not think he likes woman. He did give me a hard time also. We have very few DPE's. Also, I did work hard to know my FAR-AIM and I have it tabbed and can find information quickly. My FAR-AIM looks like it's been ran over by a truck. However, my DPE said put it away as you can not fly with a FAR-AIM. I fly in southern CA. We have some of the worst weather - Turbulence,Thunderstorms, Fog, rain, high heat, strong winds and the list goes on and on. We have the most traffic, most crowded airspace.
