    If there's one thing I know about LeBron as I've watched him and been a fan for years. It's that when he has a bad game on free throw shooting he'll adjust again to some slightly different form and when that doesn't work he'll pretty much go back to what's comfortable.
    Honestly the one thing that's constantly perplexed me about his entire career. Personally just from shooting around at my gym I used to have the same hitch (from watching LeBron) where I'd take it over my head and flick it and I was a terrible 3pt shooter and free throw shooter (only made 2 threes in my high school career and shot 60% from the free throw line lol) then just watching videos like this I learn that a straight up and down, less complicated release is ideal and adjusted. (watched some Kobe/Kyrie/a past vid from coach nick). I can at least reliably hit 3s and free throws now
    Obviously we're on 2 entirely different realities lol but I wonder how difficult it is to change your shot once you're this advanced in your career and maintain it

      Flow. You want to flow, rather than be stiff and jerky.

      More consistency and effective energy transfer. His muscles made his arms strong enough so he felt the need to take off the bend and dip, but if you look at players with 90% ft, they all do that.

    As a long time fan of Lebron, I think one of his top weaknesses is to continue to create the same quality ball movement in the final minutes of a game like he does for the first 90% of the game. His shot clock over usage and lack of ability to drive to the basket during the last few minutes has put them in much harder positions than needed since his Miami days.

      I play the piano but what you said caught my attention. “You can't polish bad technique and get great results” damn that’s good & so true! Very tough as well cause even though it’s detrimental it’s so hard to break a habit that feels comfortable. You have to start from zero with the correct form that will just feel so foreign. Everything inside will tell you “go back to whats comfortable” but you have to ignore that & keep repeating the correct technique until it’s 2nd nature. Your results will reflect how bad you wanna improve.
      Once you have corrected your mistake you can’t abandon the training that helped you if you wish to sustain success with it. You can relate this to many things in life. I rambled a bit lol sorry, it was just a great comment….

    He's my favorite player and I'd really like to see him work with lethal shooter, kcp was average last year but since he worked with lethal shooter he's been a big threat from mid-range and 3

      He should work with Stephen Curry or Malcolm Brogdon since those guys shoot over 90% from the FT line.

    Is there any correlation between misses and game situations? Even during his career highs for FT shooting, he had an issue making it during clutch situations. It makes me feel it’s less technique and more mental.

    I can remember a top view shot of his freethrow, ball came from midline of his body after the dribble and shot it using his (Of course) right arm. I can remember a guy named Michael Jordan ( again top view from the shot clock camera) dribbling from his right arm favoring his right side (right foot forward, left foot back),then lets his left hand touch the ball while maintaining the position of the ball in line with his right foot and shoulder and of course the ring, then shoots it straight.ball was already locked up straight to the ring from the very first dribble (of course it's not perfect all the time) creating no angle whatsoever, while LeBron created a little angle from his midline (remember ball goes to his left after dribble) going to the ring and his shoulder. That ball going from his left creates a 'little' variation ( right hand position on the ball and again the angle) from point of release. That's where the problems lies, in my honest opinion.

    He has more weaknesses than just a free throw. Left shoulder turnaround in the post is a noticeable weakness also

    I feel he should do a knee dip and bring his arms up at the same time, then push up with the legs and follow through at the same time so that the ball leaves his hands at the same time his legs finishes on his toes. Check mj, Kobe, and curry ft forms.

    I'll never forget the time I was having "the goat conversation" with my cousin and we were watching a cavs vs rockets game and bron had a chance to either win or tie the game with the freethrows. we both agreed that the goat wouldn't miss in situations like this, so confidently, i bet that bron would. and he ended up missing both. I did a quick search. It was the game on March 1, 2015.

    I really feel like his ft is a mental thing. He's just gotta relax and go thru his form. Sometimes LeBron's biggest flaw is he thinks too damn much. Let the game come to you bro. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    I noticed when he started shooting his free throws differently. Around the time when ray allen joined the heat. Ray probably taught him his ways. LeBron used to bend naturally at the line, now he stands awkwardly straight up (just like ray allen) call me crazy but i said what i said lol

    another amazing thing about LB is he just adapts all the time, he has no signature moves, no real most favorite spot of scoring, he just does (at least try to) what is needed all the time...it is just respectful for someone at his level at this age at this stage of his career, still try to improve on little things...such a sarcasm for so many scrubs in the NBA now who take tens of millions dollars but stays at scrubs level without fighting for years...

    Sometime people can't adjust, no matter what. Shaq was never able to. It's a part of life. And we're talking about in clutch situations. As long as you know who can shoot free throws on your team is what count the most.

  • @NoRulesFilmSchool
    @NoRulesFilmSchool 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The process has looked better than the results, he looks so much more comfortable you'd hope he'd be at least 80%, but hopefully he sticks with it and it stays at this level or gets better 🤞🏿but watching LeBron play over the years he may change it 3-4 more times again before the season ends 🤦🏿‍♂️

    • @jamesmarhen
      @jamesmarhen 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That could happen. I feel like he gets comfortable with a motion and it works but then he'll go through these stretches were he struggles a bit and rather than just trusting the motion will get him back in line, he abandons it and tries something new. He's always been a streaky shooter and he's developed his shot so much since he started but he's also never been just a natural shooter so too often he seems to not trust his technique. In the Spurs Finals they won they were playing off of him and he just seemed to not trust himself to draing 3s consistently and then the end of game 6 and all of game 7 he just ditched his lack of doubt, trusted his technique, and was dominant. LeBron seems to overthink too much.

    no flame, but I thought his biggest weakness was his defense? Outside of getting a nice chase down block every now and then, he isn't really a great on ball defender(compared with a lot of other HOF level players), or a great team defender. I honestly thought this video was going to be about his defense lol
