  • SA Power Networks install animal guards on the tops of power poles to stop Grey Headed Flying Foxes (bats) and other animals from getting injured and causing power outages.

    This is a great initiative. Great to reduce outages but I love that it will help avoid native animal life deaths as well. Fantastic!

      @SAPowerNetworks I did read this and was confused how they are a protected native species yet we have had a massive growth in their numbers. What has changed? Also why are they protected if their numbers are at the point of becoming a pest?
