I love Rad's design, never really thought he wasn't related to the Heeler brothers, as family don't always lookalike and sometimes certain genes, can skip a generation. I hope we get to see Rad and Frisky more in future Bluey episodes.
Same.y hubby and I have dark brown hair. My mom and his mom had black and near black hair. His dad was a brunette. My dad was a light brown, but yet my daughter came out blonde. The odds via a genetic calculation was about 7-10%. Her blue eyes however were 99% with .5% in each green and brown 😅
Until I saw this video it never occurred to me to even entertain the notion that Radley might not simply be Bandit and Stripe's brother. Genes combine in strange and interesting ways, but also, he might just get his hair/fur done, use almond milk shampoo, etc. Why wouldn't he have his own look? I agree, I want to see more about Rad and Frisky!

I find it funny that Uncle Rad references everyone who mistakes Bluey for a boy, but my favorite interaction between Frisky and Rad is when they meet and she says "Um... Yeah. Didn't you fall in the pool at the wedding?" Then he answers, with a shrug and no hesitation "Probably" I love the plot element of god-parents marrying into the family, and it's so cute them calling her Bluey's "faerie godmother"

I love Uncle Rad’s design because it reminds me of the beach. When you look at his fur and see how the beige color transitions to a blue color, it looks like where the sand and ocean meets at a beach. ❤
I like how everyone in the show, even extended family, has this kind of innate caring side and desire to be involved in the kids' lives in a positive way. Like obviously it's a feel good show with family messaging, but that's just something that not everyone gets to experience so seeing Uncle Rad get along with the girls so well even though he doesn't get to visit them often is just really heart-warming to see
I like how all the brothers look different. I think it makes everything feel more routed in reality. It'd be weird if they all had the same markings and colourings. When dogs have puppies irl, there's always a few that look different from the bunch anyway lol
I always figured that Rad was like me, with the random genes showing up. My parents and sister all have brown or black hair and brown or hazel eyes. I have red hair and blue eyes, looking the most like my great aunt. (I had a lot of people ask if I was adopted throughout elementary school because of my hair color)
Genes are so weird My aunt(dad sister) came out ginger with green eyes her brothers and parents, dirty blond and blue eyes. many jokes about her father being the milk man. Then I am born, I dont get red hair (which there was big odds for since my mom is ginger too) but I got the green eyes, and my aunt faces, I look so much like her. that people often think she is my mom.

I've always loved Rad's design and the way his hair looks. He's got that certain roughness to him, like guys who have their long hair in a ponytail and maybe a light beard. It really helps with his image of being a carefree fun uncle and working on an oil rig really helps put it all together.

Uncle Rad seems like a fun uncle! Something I have wondered is why the older generations seem to have more human names (Chris, Doreen, Bob) and younger generations tend to have more "doggy" names (Bandit, Fido, Bingo, Pompom, etc). Of course there are some pups that have human names too, like Chloe and Jack, but it's just a trend I noticed.
It might be a real life trend my mom named her first cat back in the day Madeline and now most of out cats have more cat names like Storm, Jax, Lightning, and Rover. With exceptions being Leia and Jasper (names picked by my adult siblings)
When I first saw the flashback episode I thought Uncle Rad was not the oldest. From the double babysitter episode I thought he was the younger care free brother but that episode showed him as being bigger. The world of Bluey has so many things to offer not just for kids but also adults. I use life lessons from every episode all the time to teach my kiddos. BlueyMama!!!
1:47 I think that he dyed his hair/fur when he was younger but he stop when he was older probably due to his hair/fur getting more weak from all the dyes.

Uncle Rad's design has always been one of my personal favorite, although I could never relate to him. A bit weird, but I associate myself and the people in my life with characters in a show or youtube vid that I like, as in "oh, my friend I definitely this character" as the way he acts. However I could never really find anyone who is like Rad, he's that unique I suppose. I would compare myself to be stripe, and my older brother to be Bandit himself, I wonder what it would have been like if I had a thrid brother 🤔
I always thought Rad was adopted, or like a friend of Bandit/Stripe that spent all his time with them, like how Jack spends all his time with Rusty, his home life isn't necessarily BAD, he just spends more time with his friends, developing a brotherly bond.
Bluey has always been so inclusive, I'd love for this theory to be true. Especially because they don't acknowledge it in a straight forward manner, he's not a step or adopted brother. He's just their brother.
I kinda like how long rad's hair is, Australian cattle dogs are short haired right,? do they have a long haired variety? if not clearly Rad has been using more than good shampoo right?
So as a hairstylist, my first thought when I saw Rad was that he was basically just ginger. That’s actually really common in humans to have one random redhead every couple generations. I just figured there must be a other “redheads” in the Heeler family 🥰
Rad probably just got super lucky with the vibrant coat genes! I think at first I thought it looked a little weird, but it definitely grew on me and now I love his appearance! I hope we get to see more of him soon.
As an eldest of three brothers, myself, Rad’s differences from Bandit and Stripe make perfect sense! We have to/get to experience every new thing first, along with our parents.
I never really wondered about rad not being fully related to stripes and bandit until this video brought it up but it did get me thinking when i fully realized that none of his immediate family have any prominent red on their coats like he does! I also think him not having any grey fur despite, being the oldest brother, is because he's child free (for now). possibly in a future episode if we see him raising his kid it would be a nice added detail to have some grey in his fur!
Aside from genetics, it just struck me as a way to make him look more distinct since there are already several characters (Bluey, Bandit, Stripe, Socks and Nana) with a fairly similar appearance. It's probably easier for kids to keep track of who's who between the brothers if they avoid making all three look super alike
I really like uncle Bradleys not just his design but his personality. Plus I think that him and Shelia are so cute together. I'm so excited for the special!!
2:07 YES! I’m so glad someone is saying this. My parents have 2 blue healers and one of them had puppies (they are both full healers not mixed at all, so were the puppies) anyways, she had 6 puppies and they all looked just like their parents except one, They had a RED PUPPY! They both are full BLUE healers, it’s still genetics though, it’s like with brown and green eyes. If your grandma has green eyes but both of your parents have brown eyes, while it is highly unlikely, you can still have green eyes, you know?
In Fairy Take there is a quick scene with an adult dog in the convenience store that looks suspiciously like the top half Radley. It isn't just that Rad is just red and blue heeler color mixed...his coat length/texture on the top half is completely different than a heeler. I think Nana had Rad before she met Bandit/Stripes dad (probably at that holiday park).

I love that Rad is different. I've seen cattle dogs that have a mix of red and blue markings, and they are so amazingly beautiful. I designed a mash up of Chilli, Bandit, Bluey and Bingo to see what their older brother might have looked like, and he has attributes of all his family members fur patterns. I figure Radley could be like that somehow.
I love uncle rad being so understanding of bluey being scared of putdown. I have autism and Bluey is one of my special interests and I love it! It just makes me happy and helps me relax by seeing how I wish my childhood could be like
Uncle Rad's design has almost been one of my favourites. I like seeing the style worl around some anthropomorphic features, like hair styling but with dog fur. And his fur-hair design is just stellar!

I kinda see Rad as the surfer/swimmer type and for a long time I thought his fur was blue because of chlorine but that doesn't really make sense when I think about it
I don’t know if this is relevant, but we once had two full sibling dogs (1/4 red heeler, 1/4 blue heeler, 1/2 border collie). However, looking at them you would never believe they were even related. The sister was long haired, fluffy, short, and black and white. The brother was very short haired, tall, and red as could be. However, they were full siblings. That’s what I thought of when I saw Uncle Rad. He’s just gotten a weird mix of the genes somewhere that made him different from his brothers.

The same thing with the color also happens with Labradors some breed different colors. Even breeding two Yellow Labs together can relate to black, chocolate, or silver colors depending on what the other family members looked like

Bluey has always been so inclusive, I'd love for this theory to be true. Especially because they don't acknowledge it in a straight forward manner, he's not a step or adopted brother. He's just their brother.

I never knew rad was a member of the healer family and fairytale was when i learned rad was a healer.
In a way he's the black sheep, or should I say the "blonde heeler" of the family, he's rarely around and lives far

So as a hairstylist, my first thought when I saw Rad was that he was basically just ginger. That’s actually really common in humans to have one random redhead every couple generations.
I just figured there must be a other “redheads” in the Heeler family 🥰

Rad probably just got super lucky with the vibrant coat genes! I think at first I thought it looked a little weird, but it definitely grew on me and now I love his appearance! I hope we get to see more of him soon.

As an eldest of three brothers, myself, Rad’s differences from Bandit and Stripe make perfect sense! We have to/get to experience every new thing first, along with our parents.

I never really wondered about rad not being fully related to stripes and bandit until this video brought it up but it did get me thinking when i fully realized that none of his immediate family have any prominent red on their coats like he does! I also think him not having any grey fur despite, being the oldest brother, is because he's child free (for now). possibly in a future episode if we see him raising his kid it would be a nice added detail to have some grey in his fur!
Never thought I'd be watching lore videos for a kids' show, but ever since my kids started watching this show, I can't get enough. Great video!
Aside from genetics, it just struck me as a way to make him look more distinct since there are already several characters (Bluey, Bandit, Stripe, Socks and Nana) with a fairly similar appearance. It's probably easier for kids to keep track of who's who between the brothers if they avoid making all three look super alike
I love your videos, but I never imagined there was such a deep dive into Bluey. It truly is an amazing "kid's show" that adults enjoy too.

2:07 YES! I’m so glad someone is saying this. My parents have 2 blue healers and one of them had puppies (they are both full healers not mixed at all, so were the puppies) anyways, she had 6 puppies and they all looked just like their parents except one, They had a RED PUPPY! They both are full BLUE healers, it’s still genetics though, it’s like with brown and green eyes. If your grandma has green eyes but both of your parents have brown eyes, while it is highly unlikely, you can still have green eyes, you know?

In Fairy Take there is a quick scene with an adult dog in the convenience store that looks suspiciously like the top half Radley. It isn't just that Rad is just red and blue heeler color mixed...his coat length/texture on the top half is completely different than a heeler. I think Nana had Rad before she met Bandit/Stripes dad (probably at that holiday park).
Rad is such a special character he is open to how clumsy and forgetting he is my favorite

I love that Rad is different. I've seen cattle dogs that have a mix of red and blue markings, and they are so amazingly beautiful. I designed a mash up of Chilli, Bandit, Bluey and Bingo to see what their older brother might have looked like, and he has attributes of all his family members fur patterns. I figure Radley could be like that somehow.
I love uncle rad being so understanding of bluey being scared of putdown. I have autism and Bluey is one of my special interests and I love it! It just makes me happy and helps me relax by seeing how I wish my childhood could be like

Uncle Rad's design has almost been one of my favourites. I like seeing the style worl around some anthropomorphic features, like hair styling but with dog fur. And his fur-hair design is just stellar!
I never questioned Rad’s biological relation to the rest of the Heeler’s just assumed it was a recessive gene hair color type deal

I don’t know if this is relevant, but we once had two full sibling dogs (1/4 red heeler, 1/4 blue heeler, 1/2 border collie). However, looking at them you would never believe they were even related. The sister was long haired, fluffy, short, and black and white. The brother was very short haired, tall, and red as could be. However, they were full siblings. That’s what I thought of when I saw Uncle Rad. He’s just gotten a weird mix of the genes somewhere that made him different from his brothers.

The same thing with the color also happens with Labradors some breed different colors. Even breeding two Yellow Labs together can relate to black, chocolate, or silver colors depending on what the other family members looked like
