Imagine Emperor Manco Capac riding his white horse on the Fortress extolling his warriors on against the Spanish. Ollantaytambo was the last battle the Inca won. Manco Capac retreated to Villcabamba from here, was eventually hunted down, and murdered.
@@Africanvillageactivities The fall of Manco Capac is a heartbreaking story. He and his wife were hounded from Villcabamba, betrayed by Spanish who had killed Francisco Pizzaro and were hiding under the protection of the Inca Emperor. His wife (also his sister) was stolen, raped and murdered by the Spanish. Her body was placed in a basket and sent down the river. To be found by the Emperor. Manco Capac was eventually discovered hiding around a dismal campfire in the jungle to be tortured and assassinated.

The Coast - Megaliths stones are pre-inkas the ones on machu picchu and the smaller stones added by the Inca at a much later date, The Inca, though an incredibly advanced and sophisticated people did not have the technology to shape hard stone with such accuracy, and even their oral traditions speak of “those who came before.” and what you are looking at now are inca construction. La Costa Peruvian coastal waters teem with shimmering anchovy , sardines and caballa. Local fishermen haul in shrimp, tuna and shark by the boatload. Cuisine of the Cost region was especially influenced by the arrival of Japanese and Chinese settlers who introduced ginger and soy sauce and created new ways to prepare traditional Peruvian food like quinoa and cebiche. La Selva The jungles and rain forests of the La jungle region comprise more than half of Peru’s territory. La jungle is home to a diverse number of tropical fruits like lucuma, cocona and tasty treats like hearts of palm. Native Peruvians and adventurous visitors find the fist-sized local river snails to be quite delectible. La Sierra In the mountainous terrain of the Andes, you will find hearty people who prepare delectably meaty dishes like herb-marinated corazon skewered with sweet potatoes and grilled over an open fire. Alpaca and cuy, guinea pig are local meats that are definitely worth a try the next time you visit Peru. I am so glad you are in Peru Herald enjoy you trip
Well because of you I am now going to have to bone up on my Inca history. I am going to "enter into and finish" what you have planted in my mind. Again thanks for the tour of Peru, what a fantastic journey you brought us on Heraldo. And to Jeffaldo, hasta la vista baby !!!
Pizzaro killed more people in one day than the Inca sacrificed in their whole time. The Americas include, Mexico, Central and South America. Not just the US.
1.- Comida criolla = dishes from the peruvian coast ( ex : lomo saltado, causa rellena, aji de gallina, seco de pollo, etc) 2.- Chifa = dishes with a fusion between Peruvian cuisine and Chinese cuisine (ex: arroz chaufa, tipakay, etc) 3.- Pollo a la brasa = peruvian roasted chicken. 4.- peruvian sea food = ex: Ceviche, jalea, parihuela , etc.
At Tambo Colorado, which I keep going on about, we learned that the Inca would have his dwelling in the largest part at the top, and the society would all live in a room per family, with the more important people having a larger room. They had a communal hall to eat in, as we northern Europeans did.
Wow! That place is amazing and love the hotel. Thanks again, Harald. "lts raining muffs" hahaha. Your humour kills me. Jeffaldo really takes a liking to you and hes a good spirited cat.
Looks to me like at least 3 different people built on that site. Huge megalithic rocks cut with precision, then the smaller rocks simply stacked on each other, then finally the Spanish ruins. Amazing.
Right? I almost want to scream when I see him ordering and eating in those shitty places 😂 ...I should say, though, Lima is the city to go for amazing food.
Lima does have some really good food, but it all depends on the restaurant you choose. As always, the best recommendations come from the locals. My favorite restaurant was Indio Feliz in Aguas Calientes. I would highly recommend that to anyone in the area.
Imagine Emperor Manco Capac riding his white horse on the Fortress extolling his warriors on against the Spanish. Ollantaytambo was the last battle the Inca won. Manco Capac retreated to Villcabamba from here, was eventually hunted down, and murdered.

Harald Baldr, Cusco 2019
The Coast - Megaliths stones are pre-inkas the ones on machu picchu and the smaller stones added by the Inca at a much later date, The Inca, though an incredibly advanced and sophisticated people did not have the technology to shape hard stone with such accuracy, and even their oral traditions speak of “those who came before.” and what you are looking at now are inca construction. La Costa
Peruvian coastal waters teem with shimmering anchovy , sardines and caballa.
La Selva
The jungles and rain forests of the La jungle region comprise more than half of Peru’s territory. La jungle is home to a diverse number of tropical fruits like lucuma, cocona and tasty treats like hearts of palm. Native Peruvians and adventurous visitors find the fist-sized local river snails to be quite delectible.
La Sierra
In the mountainous terrain of the Andes, you will find hearty people who prepare delectably meaty dishes like herb-marinated corazon skewered with sweet potatoes and grilled over an open fire. Alpaca and cuy, guinea pig are local meats that are definitely worth a try the next time you visit Peru. I am so glad you are in Peru Herald enjoy you trip
Everytime Harald signs off I tap my screen to check how much time there is left to see if he's lying to me 😀👍
Well because of you I am now going to have to bone up on my Inca history. I am going to "enter into and finish" what you have planted in my mind. Again thanks for the tour of Peru, what a fantastic journey you brought us on Heraldo. And to Jeffaldo, hasta la vista baby !!!
Harald why don’t you try more local food instead of pizza and such? Ps I love you 😍😆
Thanks Harald ,for your interesting chanel.
I think this was a breathtaking climb😉
When will you come and visit us here in Denver Colorado? I can show you around! Or please visit Mexico 🇲🇽 Oaxaca or DMX
Peru Machu Picchu series more better than Netflix bravo Heraldo nice journey 🤳
How Spanish managed to defeat the Incas is still byond me although it's historically explained .. just look at those terrains and heavy breathing !!
Deception and brutality. The Spanish were demons in the Americas.
@benny SalcedoWhat human sacrifice?
@benny Salcedo But how is Catholic compassion into this? Catholic and Protestant compassion that killed and mistreated the natives?
Pizzaro killed more people in one day than the Inca sacrificed in their whole time. The Americas include, Mexico, Central and South America. Not just the US.
@@hoz49 and they still are.....
Harald your hair looks very good. 👌 Peru is absolutely beautiful and interesting.
You need to have local food man, pizza and pasta aint authentic cuisine in peru. You're ordering the wrong meals.
What should I order?
1.- Comida criolla = dishes from the peruvian coast ( ex : lomo saltado, causa rellena, aji de gallina, seco de pollo, etc)
2.- Chifa = dishes with a fusion between Peruvian cuisine and Chinese cuisine (ex: arroz chaufa, tipakay, etc)
3.- Pollo a la brasa = peruvian roasted chicken.
4.- peruvian sea food = ex: Ceviche, jalea, parihuela , etc.
What he said haha. Number 1 and 2. Definitely. Im sure you will eventually find a solid place that is progressive towards your stomach.
@@HaraldBaldr you need Andean style chicharrònes - roast belly pork. Absolutely divine
At Tambo Colorado, which I keep going on about, we learned that the Inca would have his dwelling in the largest part at the top, and the society would all live in a room per family, with the more important people having a larger room. They had a communal hall to eat in, as we northern Europeans did.
1 of the best videos!! Thanks man. Very exciting to watch.
Who els was thinking about the movie *Apocalypto* when he was talking about Incas and Amazonians?
Sanka Perera I did , haha. First thing that came to my mind.
Wow! That place is amazing and love the hotel. Thanks again, Harald. "lts raining muffs" hahaha. Your humour kills me. Jeffaldo really takes a liking to you and hes a good spirited cat.
I've never seen anyone finish so often in such a short time.
Looks to me like at least 3 different people built on that site. Huge megalithic rocks cut with precision, then the smaller rocks simply stacked on each other, then finally the Spanish ruins. Amazing.
Wait, you said that Peru is the worst country you’ve ever been to for food? What have you been eating?!!! Peru has some of the best food in the world!
Your travels and blogs have taught us so much history of places we would not have known. Greatly appreciated.
Rainbow Mountain vinicunca, humantay lake... Yo need to go there...
Peru looks beautiful!!!! Those rock walls have history!!! You should of done a history bit on them.
Haraldo, try Blue Magic restaurant in Ollantaytambo for Peruvian food. Burundi..
Your videos are so addictive, I past 5 hours watching them lol from 00:00 to 5 am lol good job keep the good work love them!
Is there any oil in that bike, mucho rattles.
So much history very enjoyable. Thanks. Love the Cat
Harald: Do you speak English?
Horse: NO, dummy, I speak Horse!
What a wonderful place. I would love to be able to trek there every day instead of just running on a dull road for exercise.
