That's so awesome. I actually just bought one today. Then I did some research on it, which I should have done first. They say they get pretty tall. So I didn't know what I was going to do when I got too tall. But now I know. 👍
Thanks so much! Our tree is being grown indoors and it is seven feet tall. We are going to follow your advice and hopefully we end up with three plants as well. Fingers crossed.
Great info. Does anyone know if you should let the freshly cut ends dry/scare up for a period of time before planting, like a you do on a cactus or just put them straight in ?
Nice Video, when u first cut the main trunk and left it rooted, what else did you do to it? Nothing? Just let it grow? Mine lost leaves because of a frost, the top is black... Should i cut the tip off?? Thanks
I'm at a quandry, I guess this is what I'm going to have to do with mine. It's extremely health and over 6 feet tall. I'm moving to a new house and it's just too big to safely move without cutting it up. It kinda breaks my heart since I've raised it from very small.
@@dominusplantarum It's always a good idea to sterilize your saw with boiling water before cutting, otherwise you could transfer disease from other plants or trees to your Pachypodium. ;)
How long did it take to get new leaf growth? I took the plunge with a 10 footer three weeks ago that needed re-potting anyway. I have yet to see any new growth.
@@esharke1 I read that it takes 4-8days. Cut, place on newspaper/paper towel so sap is absorbed so plant-end is completely dry. The room or outside area needs low humidity (below25%) and temps. above 70-80 Degrees Fahrenheit; the warmer the better. I live in Arizona so both requirements are easily met. Also heard it's better to do this in Spring.
I just purchased a very large one of theseBut I have to go remove it from the ground! do you have any advice how to remove it from the ground? Do they have very deep root systems?
You may lose the entire plant and its cuttings by simply cutting the trunk into several pieces. From what I have seen, they will not take root, will rot or dry out. Unfortunately nothing is answered here, the before/after pictures are of very little use in knowing what to do next after cutting.
I have a handful of these and was wondering if they could be reproduced asexually. Thanks much for the info! I will be doing this to a couple of mine in a few weeks when it gets a little further into spring. Cheers!

Can you share what you do after you cut them to make them take root and grow.? I'd appreciate it.
Very nice to learn!! Thanks for show your solution. 😊

How did it turn out 4 years later?
I love how this video starts out!
Thanksfor sharing information about this rare plant.
Great Sir, it looks wonderful. can you explain how you do that? how to germinate or propogate them. thanks in advance
So, thx for sharing. I wonder whats your secret to get the unrooted sections to root? Ive tried several large pieces with no luck.
Yeah me 2
How long did it take for them to root/grow to that size?
Once you cut it, how long do you have to wait to pot it?
Oh my god, this is great. I never knew this could be possible. I love Madagascar palms.
Thank you, short to the point and no magic nonsense.
how do you get the cut part of the plant to take Root?
How long should you wait to plant a cutting into dirt?
When is the best time to do this sort of trimming and replanting?
great...it is very brave of you to cut them... congratulations
How to rooting Madagascar palm thank you🙏❤️
I just bought my first Madagascar Palm and it has 6 plant in one pot. I was wondering if I beheaded one just for experiment do you I'll do the same ?
This contributes nothing. Your instructions are "cut it in to pieces." What about dry times? Rooting hormones? Soil to use? How much to water? Etc
🤭 I was specting instructions how to cut it
En qué fecha se poda la planta de Madagascar
When I cut the plant in pieces do I just put them back in dirt or do I wait for them to reroot?
That's awesome. I'm afraid to cut mine though. It's so old and is having its best year yet.
Cutted tip how to make roots ?
Hi i live in Miami FL what time of year should I do that to my plant and how long does it for new growth to come out
Thanks dear man to informative video
Thanks A lot
Please a vedio for watering schedule please
How to make parts root rather than rot? How to dose the water so that it does not dry out during this time?
I found white spots on the leaves, how to fix this problem

I'd probably liet it dry out for a few days and then dab ithe ends with cinnamon.

Hi sir.... I have a single tree, how could i make a branch of baby tree.?

Gracias por compartir tus enseñanzas, gracias desde mi lindo mexico
Que puedo hacer después de una helada! Mi planta se pudrió de la parte de arriba

Thank you so much.mine is also getting big and high.and chiefly wanted to propagate it.but didnt know could cut and put in soil.and they can grow.
where is the "How to cut your pachypodium" part?
Good Idea! Just use a common folding tree-saw, i bought mine at a hardware store.

Matthew, did you get any new growth from your cuttings a couple of years ago, or did they not survive? Thanks!
how many years does it take for it to grow about 1 meter? :)
Mine is only outside during summer months and it took about 5-6 years to grow that tall.
Incrível! parabéns pelo vídeo e pela explicação!
Once you cut them, how long do you let the pieces sit to scab over before you plant them?
Anyone ever get an answer for this?

I accidentally damaged the top of my Mad. Palm..it took a while, but it is now sprouting separate sections and leaves!!
They look beautiful!!!
Just got one are they slow growers?
Water once a week and they grow fairly fast. This bigger the pot the bigger they grow.
I just purchased a very large one of theseBut I have to go remove it from the ground! do you have any advice how to remove it from the ground? Do they have very deep root systems?
Not at all. Very easy to remove from the ground even if it is very big. Mine is over 2m tall.
leider wird hier nichts beantwortet,.. die Vorher/ Nachher Bilder nutzen hier sehr wenig, um zu wissen, wie man nach dem Schneiden weiter machen muss🤷
Nice! I was afraid about to cut my pachypodium
Are they posionous?
Do not ingest at all
Wow no way! My indoor one is 7 feet- almost gave it away after 13 years.

Thank you... great video
*are those cacti?*
No, they're succulents. All cacti are succulents but not all succulents are cacti.
Mine grow just as fast wide as tall. Water and feed often, and itll give you a more natural shaped tree.
thank you!
I hate these kind of accounts. They never answer people in the comments looking for specifics.

Nice.
Nice video
Exelent!! im going to cut my palm!
👏👏👏
Да уж, познавательное видео. Сто вопросов и не одного ответа.
super
This is Madagascar mutilation.
better name: trident shrub.
"how to cut" dosent show anything about how to propagate lol
Cut the main plant to make more plants, meaning you also plant the cuttings individually, propagate 1 plant to few more ,if they all grow.,
Wauoo lindo
You must cut your pachypodiums before they start creating this horrible codex 😂😂😂😂
Sounds like straight BS to me. The lies
