Just my speculation. Maybe the whole of Fontaines main city is connected through pipes. Even the prison. And maybe the traveler will be caught up in some stuff, so he ends up being put in front of the court and they throw him into prison. Then he escapes through the pipes. And ends up in the "underground" industrial part of Fontaine. (Idk if it's underground just my imagination) And from there he starts solving Fontaines problems. But that's just an idea of mine. I'm hyped tho that's for sure.

I think it’s because it just has a really different vibe, especially when viewing it through this trailer. The animations in general usually give a very different vibe than the game itself so it could be that.
