@@poenpotzu2865I started to imagine the idea of Shanks' sword having the griffin fruit, and in my head I imagined that he stole it from the celestial dragons to have a way to get out of Mary Geoise riding on it after denying living as one of them in order to get down the redline
Shanks: but I always called you dad! Roger: well i really wasn't, i just liked you and buggy calling me that, which reminds me, I'm gonna drop you off somewhere, I got some hot piece somewhere in the world where she's gonna help me get a kid! Shanks: daddy?
I’m guessing the time that Shanks learned he was a CD was when Roger gave him his hat and the reason he cried was because Roger had a Yondu moment with “he may be your father be he wasn’t your daddy.”
I think it's possible that Shanks already knew he was adopted at this point, but he hadn't been told who specifically was his biological dad. Being told your biological dad is a genocidal maniac probably wasn't the nicest of news, so it'd lead into the kind of moment you're describing pretty well.
Unrelated, but remember Shanks considers a town on the West Blue (that still exists, that's how he can get sake from there, so it can't be God Valley) his home town. I think Roger and Garp where more similar to each other than they gave credit, and Roger Dadan'd Shanks in the West for a while xD
I don't think I've ever been surprised to see someone with a mustache until now. This is the first video I've seen in like a month and I feel like I missed an entire arc
I imagine Shanks meeting his family was like Quill meeting Ego (his dad) in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Starts off smooth, and all at once he realizes how monstrous they are.
Tekking really opened my eyes with this video, everyone is assuming that Roger knew that Shanks was garlings kid, but I really like the idea of Shanks not finding out until adult. In fact, we could go a step further and say that while he was at the Holy land he saw or heard about the "gum gum fruit" being transported and that's how he knew where who's-who was
Well Shanks basically lives as one, like he parties all the time and lives like an emperor And if he had celestial dragon money and resources he could probably also protect a lot of people as well Like their life style is not the problem, their racism and superiority complex is
One thing to mention is that regardless of their past, for some reason Shamrock still calls Shanks his brother, and by Celestial Dragon standards even the fact that he acknoledges he's kin with an underworld earthling is grotesque. Remember how Doflamingo spoke of Rosinante after he found out he's a rat? I want to believe Garling, and subsequently Shamrock to be somewhat of a nobleman taking pride in his bloodline, being like "whatever path you choose Shanks, I am proud of you, because you're a Figarland" or something like that, which would explain how he would be able to leave Mariejois in the first place without a serious manhunt. Shanks' attire, posture and overall aura of him exhudes nobility, which makes me believe he actually spent a good couple of years in Mariejois, not just days or weeks, where he honed is skills alongside the God's Knights. What better place to learn everything about the world, even combat knowledge, than the literal center of the world?
Good Idea, taking what he can from Mariejois and then leaving on his own terms. Plus Shanks according to the Gorosei does serve as a maintainer of peace amongst pirates for world balance. Plus, maybe even jokingly, Shamrock and Garling would call Shanks the King of the Trash Heap 😂
I also doubt that Garling made the choice so simple for shanks. Like Doflamingo, who grew up in Mary Geoise, thought to be accepted back he'd kill his own Father. I 100% believe there would be some caveat that Shanks refused. It could even be something as simple as; "to come back you must get rid of Rogers hat". But, personal headcanon until proven otherwise, Garling told Shanks he had to kill one of his former crew members to prove his loyalty and on a whim-picked buggy. I think it would be an epic reveal for the eventual Shanks flashback and I also hope that buggy is there and hears that and that is what gets him to finally forgive Shanks
@@patrickzalatoris3206"what Doffy would do to shanks" brother that dude wouldn't even dare to anger Kaido what the fvck would he do to Shanks who is a fellow emperor 💀
One idea I just had, maybe Roger's last words to Shanks were a mission of sorts. This is wild speculation on my part, but Shanks during his stay in the holy land would have been in the perfect place to learn about the Nika fruit and other WG secrets. And Roger of course knew that they were too early. So perhaps he tasked Shanks with returning to the Mary Geoise specifically to gather that information and possibly do something else that Roger believed would give future generations the best possible shot at succeeding where he failed. A mission like that would be a pretty stark acknowledgement that Roger would not be around to witness whatever would come.
I have the same idea. I think Roger said something like "go to holy land, find some information about gomu gomu/nika fruit, take this fruit..." Being celestial dragon, son of holy knight capitan is best way to spy that place
I am an identical twin, I am 3 minutes older. I am the older brother and I have always held it against him and have always done the "older brother" tasks.
Even if he was “stolen” by Roger something tells me when Shanks returned to Mary Geoise he wasn’t met with a party. I have a feel Garling is the type of person who doesn’t care about blood but cares more about his twisted version of right and wrong. I imagine garling the kinda guy to hear his son is a pirate and immediately disown him.
Shanks: So like what is life like up here Shamrock: Its alright i guess? Shanks: And whats that guy doing? Shamrock: Hmm oh thats my personal sword carrier Shanks: ... Shamrock: .... Shanks: good talk brother
I mean, we assumed that Whitebeard saying Shanks makes his old scars ache was all Roger...but Whitebeard was at God Valley. So a pretty good chance that they were well aware of who his father was. But Whitebeard being Whitebeard doesn't actually hold it against him. He was just a kid and still is a kid, his rival's kid really, so screw "that guy".
That assumption never made any sense to me considering among other things, Whitebeard had a much better reminder of Roger on his own crew who he saw every day lol
@@SilverSlugs16 Exactly. But it makes perfect sense if Whitebeard was talking about Shanks dad who he looks just like and we the audience know was a complete monster from that brief God Valley flashback.
After Rodger execution I think Shanks spent a couple months, or maybe years in the holyland collecting as much information before leaving. That’s where he got his sword since it looks like his brother blade. He could also potentially have a Gryphon beast, since the anime version of the kid fight might’ve hinted that. Shanks recruited Yasopp between 1502-1505 since Usopp is born in 1505. Roger died in september 1500. So it makes sense in the timeline.
What if the reason the WG insisted on executing Ace wasn't because he posed a threat to them, but really as retribution against Roger for kidnapping Shanks. Figarland's son was "taken", so they retaliated by taking Roger's son.
would also give some more justification to the literal pogrom against pregnant women that the government carried out just to try and snuff out any chance Roger's son would survive. they didn't even know he was having a son, or that he impregnated anyone, they just knew he was seeing a woman and decided to kill all pregnant women who could possibly be carrying Roger's child.

Please keep doing what you’re doing, and I couldn’t imagine a better reviewer to be watching as we enter the final saga! Thank you for all that you do!!
11:20 Maybe the last thing Roger told Shanks was that they were going to return him to Marie Geoise since he was still a kid and the crew would have to split after Rogers execution!
There’s a Japanese channel called “Drop the Pizza” that has a theory about Shanks being the bad guy (a theme in Oda’s past works is the bad guy appearing as a good guy in the first chapter) and that Shamrock is actually a celestial with revolutionary ideals. Would love to see Tekking cover their ENG translated videos, as I haven’t seen any other western influencers cover their work! As always appreciate your dedication to the title we love so much!
Garling: steampunk tailcoat jacket or a coat? Shanks: Doesn't matter, most of the times I like to wear by shirt unbuttoned. Shanks was still way too young when Roger was executed. He cannot have immediately started his own crew. He probably jumped from ship to ship and then eventually, travelled to Marijoa. He might have trained as a Holy Night and got his Gryphon before running away.
Now hear me out, Roger could have been telling him that he should go live with his birth family in Maryjoa, see their way of life and where his family came from, before committing the rest of his life to being a pirate. I can see that having been the screaming in tears moment rather than it being the first time he told him. On the other hand it could be the first time he told him because when exactly has Roger been a responsible and careful parent to anyone?
And THIS is why, if I ever have twins, I'd never tell them who was older. In fact, I'd have the nurse or midwife play a shell game with the babies, shuffling them about so I'd never know which was which
Since we see Shamrock was sent to get Loki and the way he hates Shanks I wouldn't be surprised if Shamrock is the one who brought Shanks back. As a teen Shamrock gets permission to seek out his brother convinced Shanks to at least travel back and meet the family. After viewing how the CDs are scum he decides to leave abandoning his brother who sought him out and choosing the family he was raised by
I believe that the person who wanted to talk to the Gorosei about a certain pirate was in fact Shamrock because I think at the time this was not only when Shanks come up to Mary Geoise but when Shamrock discovered he had a twin that was alive so he went to the Gorosei for answers
If Shanks is indeed his birth name I could see it because of how vein the celestial dragons are. I could see a name tag on both twin babies so they could identify which one was which.
Feel like you're gonna hit 1 million subs before thise June, high hopes but dude I've been seeing people post you on Tik Tok all over recently. Tekking is the Merman version of Madam Shyarly. 🧙♂️
You know Tekking. Ive been thinking about with the Celestial Dragons is the Red Line. I've previously come to the conclusion that they're a type of Tepui, a type of mountain thats very very flat (the one on the movie Up), but then the Harley happened, and my geography senses tingled. Now, I believe that instead we have a Flood Basalt thing going on. Flood Basalt is a type of plateau that happens when basalt magma surfaces in great quantities over the years. One characteristic of basalt is that is makes "terra roxa" as we call it in Brazil, a very red and fertile type of dirt. Whats MORE interesting though is that Flood Basalt is known to be the remnants of certain great extinction events when too many eruptions occur at the same time and literally flood the ground with lava, that later settles as flood basalt and other things. One characteristic of such catastrophes is that besides the earth quaking a lot and magma surfacing everywhere is that the plumes of ash literally cover the skies in an extended volcanic winter (like the one that led to Frankenstein's monster being written). Those plumes of ash block the Sun out COMPLETELY, plunging the world into darkness and then slowly rains down, making all the water on the surface acidic, it is the cause and contributor for a LOT of death. So what if the earth god triggered such an event that settled in the form of a huge serpent of burning magma? What I mean to say is that this perfectly fits the description of the First World. From the color of the ground and its shape to the verses detailing the end of the First World of Harley, it makes sense. Furthermore, the sound of sizzling water from contact with magma could also be compared to the hiss of a snake. Geography truly is everything.
So is it ever explicitly stated when Shanks obtained Gryphon? He was found as a baby by whiteboard. I’m assuming the Sword wasn’t with him then. Did he get the sword when he returned to Mary Geoise? It seems likely that Gryphon is part of some type of Figarland family heirloom. Did Shanks steal the sword when he returned home? Was this the return visit Shamrock spoke about?
I wonder if at some point Shanks had his own Crocodile moment, maybe the v.1 Red hair pirates had a REALLY bad encounter which either ended the crew or pushed it do disbandment, after which, alone and beaten, Shanks turned to the Celestial Dragons, gave a try, learned something over there that pushed him back into the sea
I like to imagine Shanks solemnly, seriously, inviting Shamrock to come along with him to the "lower realm", to see what he lived through and how he ended up the way he did. It might open his brother's eyes a little bit, too. But then I also like to imagine Shanks just putting on shades and jumping off the window of the Holy Land's tallest tower, and his family runs to check, and sees him fly off on Griffin, flipping them the bird.
Ik I missed his past few vids like 3 or 4, but um....when did tekking gain the ability to grow a stylish facial hair?😮 Bravo tekking, you did say the Elbaph arc's manliness would put hair on a man's chest in the first Elbaph arc review, who knew it sent your testosterone through the roof like this😂.
I'd actually like to imagine that he spent a few months or years with the knights. Something about the way he's been moving in the series feels like he knows more than someone who didn't take that final voyage to laugh tale should. I think that his time in the holy land informed him of the true nature of the world (at least as the celestials recount it). They could've potentially helped shanks master haki and become a much better swordsman. I also feel like when he did leave, it was done kinda quietly because I feel that the gorosei would not have allowed him an audience with them if he had killed some people and wrecked a bunch of property on his way out.
Tekkin just amuses me for a minute, What if... Shank was actually trained by the God's Knights but was a natural in combat, Haki and conquerors haki to the point that that's why Shamrock doesn't like him cuz he beat the expectations of Garlin but since he was unavailable to control Shanks and let him go

Please keep doing what you’re doing, and I couldn’t imagine a better reviewer to be watching as we enter the final saga! Thank you for all that you do!!
Fisher tiger would have climbed the red line when Shanks was 17-19 years old.
I haven’t watched this yet but I’ll listen to it while a work thanks tekking you make my work days go by so much quicker with your videos 💯
Yoooo Tekking.. the facial hair is the way bro. Its reminding me of when Charlie decided to not cut his hair anymore. Very ELBAPH!!!! Of you
Well, it's been a long time since I last watched your videos, bro. You've grown a beard and mustache-I’m surprised!, In a good way of course 😁
In fact, I'd have the nurse or midwife play a shell game with the babies, shuffling them about so I'd never know which was which
Hey Tekking 👋 Big Fan.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom kind sir i shall never forget the family that stays together stays together
Dang came to the channel after a minute. Bro got mustache now!!🔥😂
First time I’ve been this early lol thanks for all the content you dish out 🤙
Since we see Shamrock was sent to get Loki and the way he hates Shanks I wouldn't be surprised if Shamrock is the one who brought Shanks back. As a teen Shamrock gets permission to seek out his brother convinced Shanks to at least travel back and meet the family. After viewing how the CDs are scum he decides to leave abandoning his brother who sought him out and choosing the family he was raised by
"Shanks vs Doflamingo" Tekking over here coming up with the matchups no one else thought of lol xd
I've never been this early to a video. This is great.😂
I believe that the person who wanted to talk to the Gorosei about a certain pirate was in fact Shamrock because I think at the time this was not only when Shanks come up to Mary Geoise but when Shamrock discovered he had a twin that was alive so he went to the Gorosei for answers
Tekking looking like shanks now with the mustache 🔥🔥
One piece aside, beard tekking is going hard. Suits you well
Tekking! Love the mustache!
Great job growing the beard, can't wait to see it. But right now the mustache looks like you drank some hot cocoa and got a cocoa mustache lol
Holy I’m just realizing tekking has a mustache and a beard, he’s finally growing up😭
Hey , twin here. Let me tell you. The 5 mins makes a huge difference. I am the elder sibling.💪💪💪
0:44 This is the laughter of a man corrupt with power 🤣
If Shanks is indeed his birth name I could see it because of how vein the celestial dragons are. I could see a name tag on both twin babies so they could identify which one was which.
Shanks heard bink sake once and the rest was history
Lol. Loki's eyes may be obscured by bandages, but even he can see why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch!
Feel like you're gonna hit 1 million subs before thise June, high hopes but dude I've been seeing people post you on Tik Tok all over recently. Tekking is the Merman version of Madam Shyarly. 🧙♂️
I'm just waiting for the "St. Leprechaun" name reveal.
The beard is looking good on you bro 👊
Shanks: What!? I'm adopted!? Nooo!
Roger: YAAAR
Its been like a month or two since ive watched a tekking video and i think you should keep the mustache and beard looks good on you!
I’ve known a few sets of twins over the years. The minutes absolutely did make a difference to them. 😂
TIGHT GOAT!
Lookin gnar bone Tekk
Loving the beard Tekkening the Viking lord of elbaf
2:19 yes, he is 30 seconds older and he doesn’t let me forget ut
I wonder if at some point Shanks had his own Crocodile moment, maybe the v.1 Red hair pirates had a REALLY bad encounter which either ended the crew or pushed it do disbandment, after which, alone and beaten, Shanks turned to the Celestial Dragons, gave a try, learned something over there that pushed him back into the sea
Would love a spinoff prequel to one piece about shanks. Like you said it really works too. Would be so fire.
4:12 YOU WHAT
I could see Shanks trying to flex his Celestial Dragon lineage if it was a way for him to either see or properly bury Roger’s body.
Ik I missed his past few vids like 3 or 4, but um....when did tekking gain the ability to grow a stylish facial hair?😮
Bravo tekking, you did say the Elbaph arc's manliness would put hair on a man's chest in the first Elbaph arc review, who knew it sent your testosterone through the roof like this😂.
This was an amazing spinoff.
What if shanks aided fish tiger in his escape!? 😮
my bro tekking is growing an epic beard 🗿
Tekkin just amuses me for a minute, What if... Shank was actually trained by the God's Knights but was a natural in combat, Haki and conquerors haki to the point that that's why Shamrock doesn't like him cuz he beat the expectations of Garlin but since he was unavailable to control Shanks and let him go
Nobody:
Shanks: nah I’m out dawg 😂
Love your beard Brother 🤩
