This video shows how to repalce the screen bezel on all Apple Macbook Pro and Macbook Air models from 2016-2020 and the Macbook 12" models. Be careful using the heat, use a plastic playing card to slice through the adhesive. You may have to use a thin metal pry tool to start the process.

Done flawlessly on a MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2020 (A2338). Bought the part from Amazon for a cheap 13€. You saved me the 800€ Apple had told me they’d charge (since they only repair the whole screen). Thanks!
For the record, I used a hairdryer on medium heat and covered my screen and keyboard in order not to overheat them. Worked like a charm! Just be extremely careful and only go with the playing card or a very thin plastic tool. Be patient! And do NOT touch the orange cables as you’d damage them really easily.
I bought a 2017 MBP with touchbar for 300 because it had a cracked bezel he wanted it gone cheap. I replaced it myself in 15 minutes with a $10 replacement from Amazon.
Sold that mac for nearly double that price. and then bought an M1 MBA with the SAME issue, Fixed it and now I got myself a really nice daily machine.
I asked Apple just for a laugh and they told me "we would have to replace the entire screen for $670".
This video literally saved me $660.

Kudos to you! The first few that I did were a mess. I now remove the LCD assembly from the macbook to do this. I could never do it like you did here.

If you're doing this on a MacBook M2 chip, keep the black tape on after you remove your Bezel.

Hi, I would like to ask you something. I broke this bezel by phone on my MacBook Air 2020 so there si a little crack. My phone slipped on the keyboard. It happened approx. 2 months ago. After a month, a tiny line showed on the screen. It goes up from the way where my phone fell down on the bezel. So I would like to ask if is it permanently destroyed or can it just be crumpled due to impact? Thank you.

Better not to ask :D The display accidentally stopped working like month ago. When I wanted to see something on the display, I had to touch the broken hole on the bezel. So now I have my new notebook. Thanks for asking.@@arushsingh5590

Do not do this on the 2019 MacBook Air M1. I did. The flex cables are different. They run along and adhere directly to the bezel. There is a significant chance you will damage the cables, or, if you apply enough heat to dislodge the flex cables from the adhesive, damage the display itself.

@@MrAchilles113 LOL. YES. You might get it to work if you use enough heat to completely soften the adhesive, but you're walking a fine line between ripping the ribbon cables and frying the display.

Yes, if you are careful. I have used them for years with no issues.

You can find original. The original will be made of glass, aftermarket are plastic.

No, Apple considers this as physical damage not covered by the standard 1 year warranty.
There are literally now tens of thousands of reported cases of the cracked Bezel on newer generation MacBook and yet absolutely nothing from Apple, despite the very high price (high margins) apple charges.

Don't do it yourself. You will damage the display.
i did it myself, it was easy 😂😊 but you have to take your time and be gentle

There is a very small crack on the side without the cable, so is there a possibility that the display will fail?
Is the crack on the screen or on the bezel? If on bezel then it should be fine, if on the screen you can test the display without the new bezel installed.
