You definitely have preferences for chiller songs where the vocals stand out more, but 5-star is the complete opposite, it's what skz always stood out for: their noisy music, that's why the fandom loves this album too much more

Most of the songs grow on me (except for a few that I ~instantly love~). Like on the first time I listen to them I'm like "yeah ok not bad" and then the more I listen the more I love 'em. And then they're on my fave playlist iykyk

this video has been a humbling experience for me ngl cause i didn't think i would find anyone not liking hall of fame and superbowl like these two changed the trajectory of my life, they were on repeat all day all night, it really was a life changing experience for me. skz were spitting when they said they have something for everyone's taste palette, so glad you still found songs for your playlist from this album.
I appreciate that you keep it real when reviewing songs. 5 Star wasn’t my favorite album either. I loved Hall of Fame and Collision. There were some songs I liked (Super Bowl, Get Lit, Topline) but it felt like it was missing something, you know?
But it’s okay because they have countless songs I love and I know Mountains is already gonna be a hit!

They are legends with huge discography.They are making history in billboards continuously 4 time #1in 200, most pre order in k-pop history, top most sales, they are most awarded in 4th gen( best group , best performance group, album of the year, most popular group, group of the year etc.) first group that make many records, first and only one to perform in many events, shows and festivals, first in k-pop in history to k-pop group attend the metgala. And many more achivement.
They are the most successful group we have .
Stray kids have all the qualities which make them legends of k-pop . Plus also make apart from other generation of groups like Big Bang, exo, Bts, snsd, black pink, twice and other many groups is -
• Self- made - They are the First fully self made group in k-pop. Chan picked all group members, they made the name,concept, and logo.
On the other hand other groups are made by the company.
• Self- produce - Stray kids is a self produced group from the start of their discography made by themselves. They are the ones to make beats, melody, write lyrics, compose songs,record the song,and edit, arrange the song etc. other groups become successful thanks to other producers, composers, and lyricists.
• Innovation - They step out from stereotypes of music and make new organic , fresh creative,innovative music that is lacking in other groups, other groups play safe to please the people and make repetitive songs.
• Artistic value -stray kid's half of group is doing dance , producing, composing, writing songs before they debut ( 3racha and Lee know backup dancer) and with skz player and skz record they always give music to the world because they love what they do. On the other hand, many other idols are coming to industry for stardom,frame and money they didn't care about music and doing other things like modeling, acting,advertising etc forgetting about their main job singing and creating music.
• Genuine Music - stray kids give depth and meaning to music, categories such as " " EXPRESSION OF EMOTION'S" EXPRESSION OF LIFE"

• Brilliant producers - all members are producer's 3racha is a regular member of KOMCA ,Bangchan has the most song credits -181,
changbin -152, Han-148 and all other members have above 20 songs credits. Didn't see any groups with all producer members or with so many song credits.
• large spectrum - they make songs about many different topics like from hellevator to rock star. astronaut, circus, school life, question, mirror, insomnia, side effects, Airoplane ,voice,my pace, who etc they have a large spectrum of songs.
• Genres - they cover genres from rock , EDM, soft, Hip hop, ballad , electro, R and B , experimental music ,folk (thunderous ),heavy metal etc have like 40- 50+ gener. They have a huge discography. Didn't see this many genres in other groups.
• Great Creator - stray kids are the creator and presenter of the song . That is very unique in k-pop.They put every emotion in every song. Because they know the depth of the song. Didn't feel emotion in other groups because they are just the presenter of the song .
• Genius Lyricists - they are very clever,creative and unique, with many Wordplay, 3-4 different meanings in lyrics. That is very rare in the k-pop industry. Hellevator, noeasy, oddinary, chronosaurus, Rock is the example of this.
•Social awareness - stray kids have the courage to bring up topics that are taboo to talk but they are important topics of youths like depression, loneliness, insomnia, phobia, side effects social pressure, etc that topics come from them is mesmerizing. And i respect them to be brave enough to bring this topic.
•social work- stray kids is a one of the group they help people from donation to UNICEF,and other organisations,or with volunteer work or in EDM project or by doing social work,or with meaningful lyrics or to communicate with people to give advice to never give up, how deal with depression or they say they are always here to listen. They always help people one or other ways.
• Realistic - stray kids make very realistic songs, they are relatable to the people many groups promote fantasy and imaginary concepts far from reality.
• Talents - they are very talented rappers, singers and dancers. All members are singers and dancers, rappers, composers,producers,song writers and many more they have unique voice strength. This many Talents are so rare in k-pop .
• Concepts - stray kid's image is like normal human beings they achieve everything by hard work which is why people feel more related to them. In k-pop others groups promote idol image like god , that normal human is unreachable to them.
• connection- Stray kids is one of the groups that has deep connection with people to the point, like they are telling our story. Their music is described as "life philosophy" . Their music comes from experience.
with another group you don't feel that deep connected with them .
• Youth inspiration - Their journey is very inspiring. In their journey people see the hard work,how to overcome the struggle, to never give up, love others, be positive. They come this far because of hardwork and dedication. They are inspiring so many people. Many people look up to them.
They are the most impactful group in the k-pop music industry.stray kid's music will be dominating in the music industry for many decades. Stray kids came from zero to top by themselves.They are working hard and achieving the success they deserve. people love Stray kids music that you not only listen to k-pop sound in their music but they give something new, fresh, innovative and experimental to the music industry with their songs.
Stray kids know for quality of music and dedication for music.They are very creative and unique in music.
Stray kids is inspiring to so many people. Their music is something connected with people .They give motivation, inspiration to express yourself it's ok to be unique everyone is beautiful the way you are.

They are top producers . Only groups in k-pop that are self made ( chan picked the members) and self produced groups .

Brilliant song - venom, freeze, grrr, mirror, miroh, maze of memories, chronosaurus, 3racha side effect ,top, 3racha , slump,god's menu, thunderous, TA, cheese,muddy water, the sound, slump,top etc.

From start to now they give so many beautiful songs.
People need to watch the intro of each album to know how they come up with the idea and concept and meaning behind the song and all details and work they do on every song.

I had a similar reaction when 5 star came out but it grew on me with time. The same songs that I thought were 'ok good, not great' are on my on repeat playlist now.
5-Star was my first cb and I was soo lost! New to Skz, new to kpop- I was overwhelmed in the best way!! 😆 Lol Hall of Fame had me levitating, Dance Like Changbin was gorgeous! Superbowl had my insides squirming! Some got me right away, others grew on me, like now I know all Skz songs do! I would've never listened to a ballad by choice, but a Skz ballad- sign me up! I'm so glad to have all of Skz discography to match my mood, and we just keep getting more! ❤😌😁
5-star was my first Skz album/comeback and it certainly did not disappoint.

yea i feel like these songs are somewhat less of the type to blow you away immediately like some of their other tracks (they seem to have more of a comparatively lower-key sound), but are definitely the ones that grow on you the most as you listen to them a few times bc they’re so catchy and addicting (have def turned into some of my favs that i listen to all the time)
Hall of fame captivated me immediately with its sound, and when I saw the performance, I understood why it was so exciting.

I believe, the Hawking's line was more like: (we're) Inmortal. Like Hawking in black holes...dadada. Two different sentences, because they were kinda just name dropping famous people. This one took me a bit, but then I had Bang Chan's like going on my mind in a loop "Hear the people call my name" so...
Gotta confess, ITEM, took me a while to warm up to it, because it was hard to listen the ITEM ITEM I ate them, instead of just ITEM ITEM ITEM(? Also, it is a really... like, the gaming references can get you a bit lost. Yeah, I think the ITEM is their charisma, their hard work, their talent, their flavour, maybe. But the full reference is for games, when you have a legendary item, like a cool special weapon in a shooting game. It is definitely a running/gym song tho lol
They do grow on you, don't worry. Also, SKZ has a big discography that while very cohesive in their signature sound, it can be all over the place, and we do have personal tastes, so don't worry, Nigel, truly. You do appreciate them, and that's more than enough.

DLC is perfect, and the video for it is GORGEOUS. Hope you checked it out, even if off camera.
GET LIT, yeah, by it's own is... fine. I like it, it did take time tho, and the visuals of the MV did help. It's more of performance song, than a just listen song. Like Hall of Fame, kinda.
Collision... just, the trumpets, and the phone ring.... they were amazing for me. Also, it is a Han song, and those always hit for me. FNF is just so pretty and nice, and heartwarming. Youtiful is so warm, and it is so so perfect, idc. Time Out is the perfect summer song, that's it. No more needed.
Nigel, sweetie, do not worry if you didn't vibe with the whole album at first listen (or still don't vibe with the whole of it months later), SKZ makes music for all of us, and as long as you admire, and respect their work, it will be fine. Keep enjoying being a STAY, and do take care.

I'm really trying to force myself to listen kpop but the truth is that kpop doesn't make something different, i understand and i appreciate the work and talent the girl and boy groups have and put into everything, but at the end of the day i can't be a fan of kpop when i don't enjoy the music, im only Army and when i listen to Bts it's just hits me , before i didn't even listen to any othe music but pop, Bts always bring something new to the table and i like every memeber parts in a song and they doesn't change the beats that's why (and many other reasons) i would chose Bts over any other artists or kpop group , definitely Bts got it all : best rappers, most unque vocalists, best dancers, producers, song writers, personalities, the freedom to do wherever music they want and always try something new without to need the company permission❤❤ it's okay Nigel if you don't liek these groups music....
I think super bowl is not a song for everyone, I used to not really feeling it, but it grew on me, as for Hall of Fame you should watch the live version, that's FIRE FOR REAL. Love from Italy❤
The quality of this album is amazing, they have definitely grown as songwriters, composers and arrangers. Stray Kids always choose what they want to convey to us, and not what is popular. They always said that first of all they make music for Stay, and not for awards and charts (which distinguishes them more from other groups).
5 star is so fucking good - your preferenves are just a bit diff...i WILL SAY many people that dont listen to more hardcore experimental songs like this album it grew on yhem over time
For me Skz songs are in 2 parts once that just straight away makes me want to turn off the lights start disco lights and just party and ones that grow on me so much that they won't leave me alone. cherry are those that will make us cry rivers.

Nigel, i feel you need to listen to the album a few more times, because most of the time it takes a while for it to hit! Im actually curious on your opinion on all songs after several listens, because then, THAT would be how you truly feel about the songs. People tend to just miss some things if heard just once, like some hit you straight up the first time, but the others creep up on you and later you don’t know why you didnt love it the first time 😂

I may be ultra defensive bc this is the album that made me a STAY (I AM A TOPLINE GIRLY THROUGH AND THROUGH IT IS MY SONG) so I cannot see in any form where you are coming from. its a skip[ albums simply because I don't have Youtiful on my playlist and skip it EVERY SINGLE TIME. I think its too sappy for me (which ik that Nigel likes) But I'm a visuals and noise music person and that's why these songs hit the way that they do for me bc its all about self-empowerment, and look how far we've come and f the haters and all that but also like important topics (like FNF being abt the environment) or just enjoying the simplicity (DLC just being abt being carefree) is smth I really love in an album,. But Ik Nigel you like more meaningful stuff like levanter the view the slower more impactful songs and most of the time I have the more energetic ones on repeat even when I'm crying lmao. That's a decent rating tho!
I enjoy this album but some songs needed a few more listens to grow on me. You may find that for you too Nigel.
