Will Smith also wouldnt be Will Smith without Don Simspon Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay.... That trio literally made Will Smith the TV-comedian into Will Smith the megastar in just a single movie. Also thats the trio which decided to pull off something even crazier and make Nicholas Cage into an action-hero.
Will has said in interviews before that even tho he regrets missing the matrix, he is also glad. He said one time, at that point in his career, he was too young and cocky to really let Neo become what Neo ultimately became, and he said that Keanu did a far better job then he would have done. I actually can picture the movie with Val Kilmer and Will Smith.. wouldve been great I bet. But, the feel of the movie wouldve of course been different. Its crazy how this happens with movies. The characters that could have been.. it would just change so much. Will Smith as Neo? Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz? How about this, Bruce Willis was basically last, a backup, for a diehard. They wanted Stallon, and then Arnold, and then Kurt Russel. Willis was a nobody at the time. But thank god.. I mean Die Hard transformed the action movie genre, it was the first action movie to have comedy. Like instead of stallon or arnold just some big unstoppable muscle dude saying almost nothing, you have a kinda funny but badass dude kickin ass. Die Hard is the transition from 80s action to modern action.
is because keanu did a perfect job in showing how unreal everything felt in that movie, I feel like Will has too much energy for that role, kinda like how MIB had a more comedy and lighthearted feel to it because of him, while The Matrix has a more serious sci-fi feel to it
people plug in Keanu's accolades with that movie. When Keanu was in that movie, none of us were like, "oh he was perfect for that role"..in a serious tone. It was more like, "yeah..it was a good movie. Keanu did Keanu" ANYONE could've played his role.

Didn't realize Will has genius level intellect having an IQ around 120, scored a 1600 on his SAT, can solve a rubik's cube in under 2mins and passed up the opportunity to attend MIT. Humble man.

I'm thinking about the biggest movie stars of the past 25 years. DiCaprio, Clooney, Pitt, Smith, Depp, Cruise. I think it's a contest between Cruise and Smith for who's the better hype man and salesman. Smith always gives it his 110% trying to sell his movies and keeping it upbeat, positive, etc. People probably don't realize this and think it's just all natural, but this takes conscious effort. When I was a teenager, I would describe behavior like this as "fake" or "selling out", but now I just see a dude who's fucking hustling and doing his best to sell himself and his work. He's busting his ass. Just for that constant and never-ending hustle, Will Smith deserves major respect.
