When sharing the message of Christianity, we must make it clear that Jesus Christ is so much more than a wonderful example and great teacher. We can lead people to believing that Jesus is perfect God and perfect man by sharing the Gospel and creation. The easiest continuity is by sharing the creation in Genesis 1 and then following that up with John 1 which explains that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit always were! It also helps understand the roles in the creation story. The more we share about sin, God’s love for us, redemption, and Jesus the clearer who is becomes. It’s important that this is understood. Be Encouraged!
When sharing the message of Christianity, we must make it clear that Jesus Christ is so much more than a wonderful example and great teacher. We must help people to understand, so that they can believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is both perfect God and perfect man. Our sins needed to be imputed to the God-Man, Jesus Christ, and His righteousness needed to be imputed to us, sinners saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). "He [God] made the One who did not know sin [Jesus] to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21). Only someone fully God could have fulfilled all the prophecies about the Messiah, in human form, yet be the gift of salvation; and only someone fully Man could have experienced everything humankind experiences, especially in the area of temptations, yet, as fully God, do so without sinning. As fully Man yet fully God (begotten of the Father means that Jesus is like the Father in all ways…including holiness and divinity), Jesus was the ONLY perfect Lamb, the perfect sacrifice to bridge the gap of sin between man and God, bringing reconciliation. True love made Jesus willing to become fully Man while still being fully God. Philippians 2:5b-8 sums it up nicely, “Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage. Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death-even to death on a cross.” Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.
