WRONG DIAGNOSTIC causes BIG problems | HVAC | failed Rheem control board

- In today’s video, we have ourselves a no cool call. No matter what the customer did with the thermostat the system would not operate. My initial thoughts were right to the thermostat, that it was the issue because once I jumped it out from the control board in the air handler (instead of jumping it out at the thermostat), I would’ve known that. It was not my initial thought.
So after diagnosing a bad thermostat which it wasn’t an installing the thermostat determined it was the control board because I wasn’t getting voltage out of the board. And this is what can happen when you’ve been running calls all day and it’s hot and then you overthink it and overcomplicate it! Enjoy

I’ve left the Jumper King at a customers house overnight and just told them when they got too cold to turn off the red switch. When it got too warm turn on the red switch!😅👍

for this very reason i have only used my jumpers once, this entire year, and that was on a RTU and there was no access to the thermostat.

Mr. Krauss, checking power at the thermostat is the step right after confirming 24v at the air handler. if i do recall, the base of the original thermostat was from a Pro1. The Pro1 thermostats are the best thermostats for Techs, honeywell BLOWS. this is day 1 ac tech stuff. didn't see a refrigerant check either. we want good technician work, showin off fancy tools doesnt help you be a better tech.

Didn’t need to check pressures, went back out the next day? May not make you a “better tech” but least you look cool using it! 🤣but the worlds in a better place with techs like yourself!! 🙏
