So in other words,yes its correct that they started out meant for radio,but they have evolved into soo much more over the years. Thanks for your reaction and comments. Angelina has played previously with Kork, the national orchestra of Norway. She is also the youngest to ever appear twice in the Nobel Peace Prize tributes. When she was eight, she sang What a wonderful World.
Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking angels and reactors to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here at the Nobel Peace prize tribute in Oslo Norway, elegantly honoring with song, the brave recipient, with peace and respect. She paid homage to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware, and call for change, the more hopeful that the leaders of Iran will set her free. Implementing acts of kindness to others is how Angelina always reminds us to live our lives. We ALL need to honor Angelina by following her lead. If more people provide this kind of love and kindness, we will all help make the world a better place. Peace and Love.

Angelina gives us a delicate, classy version of Unchained Melody. Her performance is completely appropriate for the tribute to Narges Mohammadi, the Nobel Peace Prize winner. She is in jail for her stance on women's rights. Her twin children were in attendance for this tribute.

All the angels all over the world want to thank you for your continued support of Angelina. This performance I feel was one of her finest. Probably her finest performance I have ever witnessed live in concert. Angelina looked exquisite, eloquent and stunningly beautiful in that gorgeous gown. The orchestra Kork gave an absolutely masterful performance and backdrop to Angelina's fabulous vocals. A special note Angelina is from Oslo, Norway where the Nobel Peace prize event is held each year. The orchestra Kork is also Norwegian and world famous. Her mother Mery is Iranian just like the peace prize recipient Narges Mohammadi who is from Iran. This poor woman is currently imprisoned in Iran because of her women's rights activist ! She has been in and out of prison for over 34 years. In her life !! . Her twin siblings were both in attendance along with her husband. To receive this most prestigious award for her. The twins are exactly Angelina's age and everything came together in this performance. The song "Unchained Melody " is originally about an imprisoned person longing to be on the outside with her loved ones and family. Great reaction. Personally, I shed a tear every time I listen to this song, and think to myself: That like Angelina, Narges Mohammadi, is Iranian (Grandma Mery is Iranian and Angelina is 1/4 Iranian). Plus, Angelina met the two twin children of Narges who are the same as age as Angelina. Angelina gives her heart and soul like I've never before, singing directly to the heavens and to the heart of fellow Iranian, Narges Mohammadi. If you do not know, Narges Mohammadi has been sentenced to prison for 31 years and 154 lashes of the whip for speaking up for the rights of Iranian women and girls.
What i love so much is her grace and how humble she is. She pay due to the original and at the same time make it her own without showing of to the expence of ruining the song. In about five days she becomes 18 years old.

I thought "Unchained Melody" was a odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later.
Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old.
Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian.
We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change.
In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".
"Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

This is what I suspect: The Treasure of Norway (Angelina Jordan) was asked, if she wanted to sing for the family of the imprisoned woman (she is incarcerated in Iran for 31 years and 154 whiplashes) in Iran. As Miss Angelina´s Grandmother Mery Zamany is from Iran (she had to flee too), Miss Angelina was glad to help. Please remember, she speaks Norwegian/Swedish, English, Persian Farsi and Japanese (Grandpa).

The young singer asked them not to cry when they heard her voice, saying she would probably cry herself when she watched it later. But we think that crying is not a bad thing, it's a sign of joy and emotion. Angelina Jordan has a gift that touches our hearts and souls, and we are grateful for her sharing it with us.

My original intoduction to Angelina was listening to her 9 year old performance of this song. Even then she was spectacular. Many years later, I guess I'm officially stuck in that proverbial 'rabbit hole'.... I’ve been listening to “Unchained Melody” since 1955. Long before the Righteous Brothers covered it in 1965. The song was waiting for this moment and Angelina to come along. Written for a movie where a prisoner is longing for his wife… This is the real deal now. A real tragedy. Angelina is singing for the Nobel laureate. A women’s rights activist who is sitting in an Iranian prison facing 31 years of sentences. She hasn’t seen her family in 9 years. And, they’re sitting there in front of Angelina as she sings... Imagine the emotion… Angelina presents this song softly, delicately and respectfully. A completely different presentation than she did last September in Portsmouth. She could have easily sung the song and the ending with more power. But, she was delivering a message of loss and longing to loved ones who were right there with her. Absolutely the right artist, in the right place at the right moment.

Thanks to the three of you for another emotional reaction to Angelina. Many of us have now seen this video about a 100 times and believe me when I say we can never get enough of Angelina singing this classic. I took this opportunity to look straight at the three of you during the performance and it was actually exciting. Kathy, you were on the verge of tears and if it wasn't for you recording this video you would have broke down completely. Lulu, you were frozen with an overload view of what you were looking at and listening to. Angelina definitely welcomed you into her world during the song. Donna, I know your comments could have gone on for at least an hour but you concentrated on telling us who she was and what she is turning into. You 'get' the whole package idea. It's not only her musical talent that touches us, it is also 'who she is', a kind, caring and loving human being who believes for the world to become a better place to live for everyone we must begin to love one another. The three of you are Angelina 'angels', for sure. You ask, "Is there anything we must do or say to qualify as Angelina 'angels'?" No. But you must acknowledge the following, "Do you feel her love in your heart?" Once there, her love will never leave you.

Every time I listen to her performance for this concert I am blown away by the utter beauty of her, her voice, the orchestra, this performance. I'm not sure our ears can feel more love than Angelina conveyed here in this magical and beautiful song in tribute to Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian dissident, now in an Iranian prison for her outspoken messages and activism for women's rights. In 2014 the prize was awarded for support of children of the world, this year, 2023, was awarded to a jailed activist in Iran who is championing women's rights in Iran. The song was originally written for the movie "Unchained", about a prisoner wanting to return to his family and suits this cause of the women in Iran wanting to return to her family, husband and two children which she has not seen in years, living in France. I think AJ express's the emotion of this situation very well in singing the song

And, if someone understood who the recipient was and her story they would know immediately when Angelina started to sing she was singing directly to Narges Mohammadi and her family (twins, a boy and a girl, and her husband). Near the end of the performance you could hear Angelina 'cry out' for them to be reunited.
