Engagement with Young Alumni Award

The Brandywine Alumni Society received the Engagement with Young Alumni Award, which is presented to an affiliate group that develops programs and events that encourage the recruitment and participation of alumni under the age of 30. Society President, Meaghan Daly, accepted the award.
Last September, the society sponsored “Dining Under the Stars,” a popular monthlong event in the town of Medina. The sponsorship aligned with the strategic plan of the Brandywine campus and connected the Society with numerous businesses. Over four weekly dinners, the society engaged nearly 300 people, including over 100 local Penn State alumni. More than 25 percent of the Penn Staters were under the age of 30, meeting one of the society’s goals of connecting with recent graduates living in the area.
This impressive effort was given further impact when the group was featured on live television, with one of the local stations spotlighting the Alumni society’s collaboration.
