The all new BMW G20 3 series (3er) has just been launched at the 2018 Paris Motorshow. We present you the history of the 3 series launches as shown in the official BMW launch commercials.
It all actualy began with the BMW 2002, but the first official BMW 3 series was the E21. Second generation of the BMW 3 series was codenamed the E30, and with it came the first ever M3. Next generation BMW 3 series was named the E36, followed by the E46 and E90, which all had their M3 variants.
With the F30 generation of the 3 series, the coupe lost the 3 series name, becoming the 4 series. This included the M3, which in coupe form got the M4 name.
Now there is a new generation BMW 3 Series, codenamed G20.

Feels kinda sad listening to how proudly the e46 was presented now knowing that it’s plagued by such a serious design flaw (thinking of the subframe cracking).
