Player is set to control K.Rosberg/McLaren but you can easily change it from the champs files.
As you might know this was the craziest year of the Turbo era and BMW took insane amounts of power from their Brabham BT55, by using rocket fuel. M12/M13 engine was also used in Benetton. Gerhard Berger reported wheel spin at 300 km/h. Crazy machines.
I have driven various seasons with RSS 1986 cars and also with these Kunos Lotus 98T based cars (with all skins) and I've come to the conclusion that these Kunos cars are superior. RSS cars are way too oversteery and uncontrollable... well at least for me.
However these cars didn't have enough power and they barely reached 310 km/h on Monza and Jacarepagua, so I have added more power.
Also, the ground effect from the titanium plate was probably the most apparent in 1986 so the sparks are ESSENTIAL part of the genuine experience. I added them to this mod.
I didn't like the cockpit adjustable turbo at all. Sure it's accurate but it worked almost like a DRS button and it made overtaking and winning the races with it way too easy. Removed.
Cars will have to pit during the 15-25 lap races. No need for ANY CM settings or apps. This has been achieved by simply reducing the cars' total fuel capacity and fuel consumption. Ai skills are delicately set in the champs files.
Just adjust your pitstop preset during the practice/qualifying and the process will be automatic when you enter the pit during the race.

MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL LOTUS98T KUNOS CAR!!! (if you want to use the vanilla car in the future. This mod overwrites it).
Install the car with Content Manager or UnRAR the files to steamapps/assettocorsa/content/cars and overwrite everything..

This season has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I'm playing with Rosberg McLaren as set in the files and I just had a Osterreich race. Pretty damn amazing work, Prost leading the championship and PIQUET and Mansell close. Great great work, thank you!!!

UPDATE: Increased steering rod ratio a little bit which made the car easier to turn on the Monaco hairpin.
UPDATE: All new gloves, suits and some helmets added.

Thanks for these!! Can you please check/correct the duplicated sections in the Spark Mod's .ini file if possible?? A little confusing w/ multiple duplicated sections same for both 93/86 uploads. Appreciate the great effort and thanks again!!
You're welcome man. These are a labour of love for me. I actually play them myself every day. I have collected all races between 82-98'ish and I want to make these as accurate as possible (results wise).
Sparks... both use the exact same method and files. It's the same extension folder (already intact in the mod) and the one particles file that is placed in the Assetto Corsa/extension/config folder. Plus the colliders file (also intact as a default inside database) in all my seasons. So basically if you have installed the particles.ini once you don't have to do anything when you put in other seasons. The sparks work automatically in all my other seasons too (if there are any) as they all use the exact same files inside the cars folders. 1988 season and 1991 season have them too. I'm adding them to other old seasons too. You install it once, it's all ready for the other seasons. Cheers
Where and how to install the BBC Overlays file
Hi Juan, that download link is in the video description too. You need SimHub and Gary Swallow plugin for that overlay. That is a bit tricky. Let me know if you run into problems.
