I can't even begin to explain how helpful, useful, and easy this was. I have been trying relentlessly to determine impact factor rather than using InCites or Clarivate, this video is the way to go!! Thank you!
Their is a journal "gas science and engineering" they dont mention IF on their website. I searched using these three ways and found nothing. However, on web of science master journal list they show this journal as SCI-E. I have already communicated my manuscript to this journal sir, should I withdraw it ? Please guide sir as i doubt about its IF and SCIE
Unfortunately this video doesnt explain everything. First of all, only journals that are indexed by the database Web of Science do have an Impact Factor. So there are a lot which dont. Second a high IF does not necessarlily shows high qualty. There are lot of factors that influence the IF. Never compare IFs in differnet subjects as they have a different publication and citation culture. In the medicine they are much higher than in engineering for instance. Also the timeframe of the calculation favors articles that will be cited in the next two years. A citation in the same year or after the 2-year-period doesnt count. Bad for subjects that have a longer citation life such as maths. Also some subjects struggle to fit the framework at all such as architecture or arts history. The IF can be manipulated. and so forth...

Journal's retting and impact factor are same or different?
They are different. Ratings can be based on different factors and who is rating it.

If it is not at their official website or you do not find it via ways I mentioned, it means it does not have IF. It is up to you to publish in it.

Thanks for your comment. Can you mention which of these methods did not work. Also, if you have better way to find IF, do let me and viewers know.
