“The road to Auschwitz was built by hate and paved with indifference” is probably the most important quote I take away from WWII. We’ve seen that mentality bleed into our society and it terrifies me that people don’t see how this can still easily happen.
Wasn’t the subject the Great Depression? A mention was made to the 1930’s as a subject but he was supposed to focus on the Great Depression instead this made as much sense as being told to speak about the wheel and focus on the time of it’s invention yet focusing most of the monologue on how it is present in our vehicles and a multitude of other tools today. That stated definitely enjoy most of the work this entertainer does with this included simply because he is a likable character not because this made any remote sense in the slightest a number of things simply felt that you would not get them unless you know what is going on in his head at the time he is speaking otherwise context is missed
Ok I'll bite: what about his rant was incorrect (and the person asking the question was a person brought up from the audience. Your first criticism is very strange: It's HIS show and he can talk about whatever he wants!)
Great depression made people xenophobic and suddenly Hitler. I know he only had 10 minutes and had to wing but, but that's not how the 30's went. Germany wasn't homogenously xenophobic. Half of Germany did try to stop Hitler but the Weimark Republic also indulged in severe overreach that emboldened Hitler's support even further. That part has nothing to do with xenophobia but Germans feeling hard done by their own government.
@@Trazynn the thing is is pretty impossible for a weak government not to kneecap people when they have been kneecapped themselves. It’s referring entirely to the rise of nazism in Germany
