Just an fyi: the ZumanJaro sign was actually down for more than half the season this year. It wasn’t there, then it was, then it was gone again. And that was well over a week ago.
Or it's happening at a different time or needs a different type of permit such as demo with explosives which may take longer to get approval. Or both if they want to remove Latern and Twister carefully to put up on the used rides market before dropping the top hat in that direction to save on repairing the parking lot.
@@timk987None of those permits were approved. They are all submitted and pending approval. If they were waiting on information or permits for Ka, it's more than likely they would wait until everything was ready and then file them all at once. Of course this isn't guaranteed, just speculation and observation of past events.
It’s all conjecture at this point. A part of me thinks they may remove all the non vertical track from the top hat and leave Zu and the top hat track in place similar to the Rolling Thunder hill under El toro. I’m not attached to the ride enough to know if seeing the top hat every day (and knowing you can’t ride) is a W or an L. Kings Island pays homage to Son of Beast with a monument in the queue for Banshee. Something similar could be done for Ka. Something saying “Long live the King” at the base.
My hope is that upper management caved and are going to keep Ka open for another season as they finalize a plan for the space, because removing 5 rides without notice and without a new ride to look forward to would be a PR disaster especially since Ka is one of their temple rides. But that's my selfish hope cause I never got to ride it and I was planning on going next season
I hope so too but from what it looks like there's stuff that needs to be done with the state which they're way behind on if they were to want to do that at this point
I hope they don't scrap Green Lantern, another park could benefit from it that could use it, they could convert it to a floorless coaster for a better experience.
It’s a shame they scrapped it. It could have gone to Darien Lake which is hurting bad for attractions. There main coaster ride of steel is down to one train and is coming to an end
I believe Kingda Ka will not receive a vertical tower spike but extending tracks, an LSM system, and a new station where the Parachute Tower, Twister, and Green Lantern were once located.
This is exactly what I was on to when the rumors about green lantern and parachutes was "announced" it would make total sense to just extend the launch tracks and put LSM's that can get it up to 128MPH in one go.
It isn't going to be reimagined after the nightmare they have had reimagining TT2!! You have to be crazy if you think that you actually think they want to waste more money when there trying to get themselves out of debt🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!
I believe it won't have a spike, but an LSM system like red force. They are moving the station back so it can still launch in one go, and they are also going to extend the layout in place of green lanterm. I also think they will go with intamin for this.
@@ChrisD72 That was in part due to selecting Zamperla to do the work, when it was a project on a scale they’ve never done before. Guests loved it, but design flaws are what took it down after less than 2 weeks of public operation. Intamin made a proposal that the park was unwilling to accept because it included an extended layout that would have required the removal of Iron Dragon, and the park wanted to keep that going as one of their family coasters. Great Adventure has room to work with, both in the parking lot as well as the land in and around where Green Lantern stands (Twister, Parachutes, etc). There is more than enough space for an extended layout, and if the popularity of TT2 (for the short time it was open) is any indication, I think we see Ka stick around in some form, preferably with Intamin doing the work this time. Modern Intamin is way more reliable than in the early 2000s, and they’re the one manufacturer I trust to do it justice.
I think it’ll be reimagined just based off how iconic it is and since they put three permits in at the same time for the other attractions. Also there are no white markers down near ka and the removal permits are where the white ones were. There is also three orange ones that form a triangle where a spike would go behind it. Obviously anything can happen but that’s what I think
It isn't going to be reimagined after the nightmare they have had reimagining TT2!! You have to be crazy if you think that you actually think they want to waste more money when there trying to get themselves out of debt🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!
@ one word. Intamin. They have built themselves a track record over the past decade and will be successful and actually offered to redo dragster but cp didn’t want to remove iron dragon which is what intamin wanted to do.
@@jacobrotkowitz3978 Ya and cedar fair hold grudges they will not work with intamin remember with this new merger it essentially cedar fair running the show.
@ I understand this however they were heavily considering intamin for top thrill 2 until they realized they wanted to get rid of iron dragon. It’s been so many years since this grudge they had and intamin has built a great reputation and you have to realize that it’s not just cedar fair running the show there are six flags executives in there also. Look we will see what happens but speaking from a money standpoint converting it would be much less expensive than to remove it and build a giga and ka is iconic and a GP pleaser. We will see what happens but this is just what I think
Yes 6 rides are done. 4 new ones will be up and running in 2025. And 2 will be up and running in 2026. The big replacement one that everyone wants to know about will be called Launch Coaster. I'm opinion is that they should leave it up and tear down some of the other boring rides instead
@ they can do that too, but if they’re already going to add a spike to King Da Ka then it already takes away some space from the Vekoma or Tilt coaster. It would also just elevate the ride even more
I’m thinking if they don’t revitalize kingda ka into an LSM launch coaster, GADV will probably get either a giga or a first of its kind strata from B&M.
I don’t think a strata lift hill is out of the question. I don’t think it’s likely but I think it’s possible. That’s a HUGE plot of land. I’d say something bigger than Fury for sure though. If you look at Cedar Fair they had plans for or built Gigas at every single top tier park and Knotts could always still happen if they work things out with residents. Great Adventure and Magic Mountain join the chain as candidates for investment at top tier park levels. We also know Cedar Fair never hesitates to remove expensive to maintain rides. They already modified one 400ft Intamin. They have another sitting right here in a park with no giga and an unloved stand up. And honestly I bet Superman at Magic Mountain has to be considered a removal candidate too - and that could honestly be a place to install a giga too.
Here is my thought. I'm very much in agreement with you. My reasoning? Flash: Vertical Velocity. It was a last minute addition for the 50th anniversary. Why would it be last minute? Because something else had been planned that had to either be abandoned or postponed. Most likely a revamp/re-imagining of Ka was originally planned for the 50th, but due to COVID, slow economy, etc. plans got pushed back. So, they put in the smaller, cheaper investment coaster as "something" for the 50th before proceeding with the bigger, more involved project which, now that the merger has gone through, can happen more readily due to the combined portfolio and assets. There may be some rethinking being done because the TT2 transition hasn't been as seamless as they would have liked, but TTD had a ton of issues when it opened as did Superman at Magic Mountain, but I do believe the ride will be extended somehow. (Personal feeling is that spikes are overplayed at this point and they could do something more interesting than that with the added space. 'World's Tallest Inverting Coaster' has a nice ring to it.)
I hope they keep Ka. I never got to ride it, and my wife and I had been hoping to do an east coast trip in the next year or two and Great Adventure was a must for me, particularly to ride Ka and El Toro. But with only El Toro, it's definitely not as important for me to go out of my way for, especially if we were just doing a NYC or PA trip. If the do end up TT2ing it, i'd still be bummed that I never got to do the hydraulic launch... but a strata's a strata. I'd still be hyped for that.
I hope they relocate green lantern to Michigan’s adventure cause they could Michigan’s adventure could use a coaster and they could give it the floor less train treatment
Man you are a breath of fresh air! I agree with you 100%! I don’t think Ka is going anywhere. We will see an extension to its layout. I don’t get the “different” type of permit Ka would need to remove. It’s was built with a crane and can be dismantled with a crane. Only thing I can think of is a “different” permit would be for just station demo and track work to reimagine the ride.
It isn't going to be reimagined after the nightmare they have had reimagining TT2!! You have to be crazy if you think that you actually think they want to waste more money when there trying to get themselves out of debt🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!
The only thing you build with explosives is roads and tunnels, but buildings, towers, silos, and even Cedar Point's Space Spiral have all been brought down with explosives!
@@ChrisD72 and once the problems are worked out with TT2 and the ride runs with no issues then what? Yeah, they are having train problems but the ride works. Not reimagining Ka will be a huge missed opportunity. Nothing is guaranteed with Falcons Flight and Ka could reclaim worlds tallest coaster. You never know
I don't see Kingda Ka being removed and this plot of land is primetime. I would hope they'd put something that's functional and can get plenty of riders in per hour.. a nice RMC, wing coaster, intamin/vekoma launch or a dive coaster would all be good for this plot of land. IDK about a giga the layout would have to be insane and traverse the area
I do believe that there's infighting between sfga and six flags corporate. I wouldn't be surprised if they pumped the brakes on a teardown and looking at the options. I wonder if there's enough room to do magnetic launch without the spike. They have more space than cedar point to work with....
They will have to go some to make it the worlds tallest and fastest! They would have to add another 183 feet for it to match Falcons Flight that opens next year!
I hope they extend this. Having that top hat is such a draw. Rather than a swing launch like TTD, you could have a standard lift hill, either chain or launch, into a layout and then onto an LSM Kingda Ka launch track, over the top hat and then either finish as usual or have a speedy twisting new final section.
Maybe they could just replace the launch system and keep everything else as-is so they won't run into the issues they did with Top Thrill. I'm guessing it's more complicated than that...but here's hoping.
Yea absolutely correct! Everyone jumped the gun on speculation. 5 ride removals in 1 year at one of the most prestigious parks in the country without any magic new construction (like cedar point happened to get lol) 🤷 But I think all the removals may kill the park's 2025 season. Ka may remain open for one more season. If it costs a million bucks a year to maintain, announce its closure and they'll have half the world at sfga before june. Easily make their $ back. Something is going on and I don't think its closing at all. Intamin pitched an upgrade to TT2 that would have required removing iron dragon, cedar point didn't want to go with. They may have Intamin reimagine ka because it's their track and trains and they obviously wouldn't have the problems Zamperla did messing with their own stuff. We shall see... 👍
Ok this is me, the plot of land looks like if intamin did there take on it “the redo” they would want to extend the layout “like it was reported for top thrill 2 with the removal of iron dragon. But with how that project had gone I don’t think they would like to “redo it”. Now on the other hand u have six flags management who has worked with intamin recently and would most likely not work with zamperla. To me everything points to a intamin redo to LSM, but in my opinion it’s so unlikely with everything listed.
Kingda Ka has a longer section of launch track than top thrill. If they redo kingda Ka they wouldn’t necessarily even need a spike to provide additional momentum to crest the top hat
Install a vertical LSM lift for Kingda Ka and extend the track layout with additional LSMs. I know that would probably suck for many but at least they could keep the tower. 😏
The only thing that makes me doubt this is the TT2 fiasco. Sure, they could always go with Intamin but if it were to be reimagined, I don't think Zamperla will do it.
The thing with that is that if Six Flags was smart they would know that TT2 was a prototype and that once they fix it Zamperla can make strata swing launch coasters
We have to pay attention to how Cedar Fair behaves - and this is still very much Cedar Fair. Cedar Fair holds grudges. They won’t work with Intamin. And it appears Zamperla has ended up in that category now too. Both options for modifying the ride are ruled out IMO. I think the only reason a demo permit for Kingda Ka wasn’t available to find with the others is because it’s a bigger job that’ll need more resources and red tape - it’s not done yet.
maybe they make Kingda Ka longer without a spike (it has a longer launch track they may be able to do it with lsm's without a spike from INTAMIN this time)
I mean the last day for Kingda Ka was crazy. The energy was unbelievable but the ride ops were literally crying. Apparently the staff was told that they could tell guests that Kingda Ka is permanently closing. Yes an extension is a different ride but I don’t think they would scare people like that. The rumor has been right so far about Ka closing so I believe they’re going to take it down.
Kingda Ka is an absolute gem for SFGA, I may be in the minority who enjoyed it more than Dragster. Such a unique, intense launch, can't imagine the world will ever see anything quite like it again! Long live Ka! 🤘❤️
There is a lot of removals and survey markers at several other parks including Over Texas (La Vibora), Kings Island (Vortex), Cedar Point (Snake River Falls/ Prof Delbert's Frontier Fling), and Canada's Wonderland's (Dragon Fyre area). While enthusiast are salivating at the potential coasters, I think one thing the Cedar Fair brass wanted to bring to Six Flags was Better food offerings. Sometimes in larger than expected spaces such Cedar Point's Farmhouse and Grand Pavilion. I'm not sating that coasters aren't in the card for these parks, but trying to be a voice of reason. As for Ka specifically, your points are valid and particularly interesting given that Tony Clark had disclosed that Intamin wanted to do an extended layout to Dragster. I, however, agree that would diminish TT2 value this soon. I think they want to make Great Adventure great again, but more like Kings Island, where every attraction is solid but not necessarily note worthy on the World stage. Many prefer Kings Island to Cedar Point, so I'm not trying to be negative about what might happen at Great Adventure and a gigi may very well be in the cards (Kings Island has one).
I have two theories… 1. Ka stays and just gets a full refurb and a new coaster goes into the Green Lantern plot of land and interacts with KA 2. KA gets reimagined and we see a new area from the boardwalk to Green Lantern/Superman
I personally don’t think Ka is going anywhere, they may give it a makeover but I don’t think they’ll get rid of it. That and El Toro are their major draws. Also I think if they were doing away with Ka they would have made an announcement so they could take advantage of a rise in the attendance from people wanting to ride the coaster one last time or get to experience it before it is closed for good. They would need something pretty darn special to replace it. If they do get rid of it I would want something along the lines of a Velocicoaster.
I feel the plan was to convert Ka, but when Zamperla botched TT2, they scraped that plan. And when looking over budgets, decided to scrap it. That's why this is so sudden. Plans were changed, causing drastic course correction.
I totally agree more with you those orange markings around kingda ka are for fiber optics and fiber optics and I looked up online did not get alot of info but look like LSM uses some kind of fiber optic
If they keep it, just have Intamin convert it to use enough LSM's to not need the swing launch. Then remove brake fins from the airtime hill and add a bunch of track where Green Lantern was.
Whatever it is I hope the golden kingdom gets a refurbishment similar to what’s happening to Kings Island or Kings Dominion. I grew up with Great Adventure in the 2010s and even though I only saw the little play structure and Ka itself, I remembered that the whole area used to have more attractions and experiences for guests that weren’t just limited to the little exhibits or Kingda Ka itself. Without any of those rides the golden kingdom area definitely looks dead and just quiet which is sad considering how with RT gone they have so much space to work with to make the land more vibrant and immersive but idk how far six flags will go with it. I’m all in favor for a spike or some kind of extension to Kingda Ka as long as they don’t knock it down because the ride itself is equivalent to the castle at Disney parks, It’s the representation of six flags great adventure. I would also personally like to see a wing coaster in the plot of green lantern called the “flying seagull” or something LOL so it goes with the board walk theme or just more carnival type rides in the area for the expansion. If not maybe something else. I hope they don’t take down Ka. That ride is truly the main draw to the park P.S. they had space behind the parachute that was never used and I personally believe these plans have been in the works since 2022 when the parachute closed so they can prepare for an extension for kingda Ka. But that’s just a theory.
Jersey Devil isn't even reliable or good and the last thing this park needs is another janky rmc with a disgusting support structure and a layout that was built by a 5 year old
green lantern is HORRENDOUS lol goodbye and good riddance. i miss scream machine!!! losing Ka would be horrible 😔 i noticed the sign that states Ka could experience a rollback was gone on saturday. it was located in the queue line in the last row of bars near the bamboo. it was not there saturday. was there the week before. very interesting
Im surprised no one is mentioning this. Unlike Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka has duel sided stations. So converting it into LSM launch with rollback would required them to completely demolish their duel sided stations. And create a brand new tradional station. Combine that with the issuse of Top Thrill 2, its very unlikely that is happening
There is also the option of simply just replacing the hydraulic launch with LSMs and nothing else. Would actually work on Ka since it has a longer launch section than top thrill has.
@ I mean really you have no idea and NOBODY here knows for sure. The fact they haven’t applied for a permit to demolish Kingda ka but have for green lantern is odd if they wanted to straight up demolish it so bad
@@RCmaniac1231 Really you say i have no idea but then how do i know so much insider information about this and i dont get my info off you tube i get it from legit sources.
@ it’s all speculation until the park says shit or the demo permits appear. So far they have not showed up for kingda ka but they have for green lantern and some other flat rides
Hi Amusement Insiders! Are you gonna upload an Alpenfury update sometime soon? I am so curious as to how the construction is going and if they have gone vertical. Thx!
Based on the lack of permits for ka and zdod i could def see them just extending ka’s layout a bit to accommodate LSMs, just not with zamperla. They have room to do some crazy modifications but I suspect they probably won’t make it much longer. Maybe i just don’t wanna believe it but with no official statement from the park (and the ride ops saying “enjoy the last train of the night” and not “last train ever” on closing night) i think it’s staying put either in its current form or reimagined. I am sad I never got out there to ride it though :(
This only proves what I've been saying for weeks! If Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro were being removed then why are there only removal permits for 3 rides? I think Cedar Flags has figured out what the issues are with TT2 and now they've decided to get a jump on the reimagining of Kinda Ka! There was so much panic around the removal announcement of Top Thrill Dragster only to learn months later that a spike was being added. The company has had to eat a little crow and because of the New Jersey regulations, Intamin will be required to do the project. Zamperla has already created the blueprint for the ride so now it's a cakewalk for Intamin to work their magic! In the next few months, we will see the same type of construction for the new spike and everyone can start to relax!
It isn't going to be reimagined after the nightmare they have had reimagining TT2!! You have to be crazy if you think that!!! You actually think they want to waste more money when there trying to get themselves out of debt🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!I
I'll take that bet! If the plan was to scrap TT2, they wouldn't still have engineers working on it! If Kingda Ka was coming down, there would have been a permit for that too. There have been markings spotted where the new spike is going, but maybe you missed that part. There's no way the company would get rid of such an iconic coaster! I guarantee you they've figured it all out and are adding LSMs to reduce operating costs. Get ready for Kingda Ka 2.0!
There are no markers for a spike located in the park though, but there are markers within Ka's station. My question would be why are there markers in the station? Did Top Thrill have station markers when they needed to modify the station for the spike and swing launch?
I’ve been going back and forth and there’s also been A LOT of broken telephone with this situation. I’m slightly leaning towards some type of reimagining of Ka. I’m not 100% certain with anything though. Anything could happen. Like I’ve said, just gonna let time reveal all.
Long time member at the park and from what I've heard new coaster in green lantern spot kingda ka is a revamp and I've heard that zumanjaro will be relocated and redone shape wise where parachutes is they would make it in the shape of a triangle back to back instead of in a row but who knows?? Lol
It’s crazy their gonna take out that many rides when theirs not a whole lot of other coasters that can handle all that capacity left over but then again attendance will drop big time because of this
I originally doubted a TT2 makeover.. but then again Zamperla might be offering a very good deal to try an save face. They will get TT2 up and running. Also who is to say they dont reuse the tophat for something completely different. Also who knows, they might move the station and create a large enough launch track section to just have a single LSM launch. I think if they spend significant money on it, there will be some layout changes. I have no idea, but what ever they do will be big
Something that hasn’t been talked about much - Ka’s launch track is WAY longer than dragsters. Idk for sure but I wonder if an LSM launch could get the train over the top without a swing launch
When we were all speculating on Dragsters reimagining, Xcelerator at Knott's was also experiencing major downtime. With Zamperla revamping Senzafiato into ThunderVolt for a different park, I thought it would be really cool if Xcelerator were moved to Cedar Point and oriented to launch opposite Dragster's top hat and replace it's brake run with more lsms so that when it transferred to the Dragster Launch it would have pretty good speed to make it up and over. I think it would have worked, but having ridden Top Thrill 2, I don't think it would have been as good (but it may have not caused any issues either).
I agree with your take that if it were to get reimagined just like TT2 that would shoot CP in the foot even more than they already have. Maybe theyll actually have Intamin add the LSM launch and have the launch go veritical so the launch doesnt have to get drawn out.
TT2 spike only extended like 130’ past the turn into the station. If Kingda ka was going to do a similar conversion with no extended layout, the spike wouldn’t come close to hitting the parachutes/twister.
Wild speculation: Kingda Ka stays, gets a spike, and gets *extended* into a strata-giga hybrid using Green Lantern's plot of land. This would involve demolition of *most* of the existing ride, and would likely include a rename/retheme, which would explain the reports of its imminent demise, but would also keep the park's crown jewel attraction *and* avoid making Top Thrill 2 obsolete by offering a completely different experience.
Here is my thinking too. Zamperla owes them big time for the top thrill 2 embarrassment. Not only do they have to fix their mistakes on top thrill 2, but they owe them for a lost season of having that thing down. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me at all if an agreement was reached to have ka updated as to make up for top thrill 2.
I feel like if they don’t remove kingda ka and they put a coaster were green lantern is I feel like it could be a RMC Hybrid coaster, but if they do remove kingda ka and green lantern then they are planning something big like a giga coaster
Random thought. Intamin wasn't really working in a timely fashion when they were brought to the table on reimagining dragster. I wonder if they were seeing the merger and went to a different approach for Ka. As much as I don't wanna see the launch go I'd still rather see a proven company such as intamin do it and make it right.
I truly think they’re gonna let intamin upgrade kinda ka and do the same thing as dragster with the spike. Feel like they know they should’ve let intamin handle it from the beginning. They have upgraded LSM systems too
I gave it 100% that they are not reimagining, ka because of the issue Cedar Point has had with TT2 Green Green Lantern , twister and the parachute tower are all been confirmed to be demolished. They would not remove all that to reimagined. Ka. And they would not close the drop tower if they were reimagining ka I give it 100% they demolishing. Ka too It just hasn’t been confirmed yet
EDIT:... OPTION 2 WOULD BE THE biggest baddest 4d S&S coaster out there... but now way six flags invests in that with the maintenance they require. The more i see this... id love to see a revitalized ka with an extended layout. Thats about the only thing Id accept for repeat visits
Should we also add the land that use to the jungle we walk through to King Da ka. That use to be kiddyland. Your thoughts are well founded, hopefully something comes from the removal of so many rides something really big most likely over a few seasons.
An important aspect might also be Trump's stupid tariffs on European products coming in the future. It will most likely make roller coaster prices (from all the big companies like B & M, Intamin and Zamperla (I guess those three are the most important ones to mention, considering Six Flags Great Adventure's situation), Vekoma, Mack Rides and many more) skyrocket, so Cedar Fair / Six Flags will suffer quite a bit under those tariffs, making a major investment significantly more expensive. Ofc, this doesn't only include Great Adventure, and not even just Cedar Fair / Six Flags, however this is a situation where it will most likely have quite a negative impact.
A giga coaster is not what this park needs right now I mean if they're going to revamp the boardwalk and do away with it Cedar Fair is probably going to put something like a Mack Stryker in Green Lanterns area hopefully well themed
Ka was about 25 to 30 million to build back in 2005. So the question is, will Six Flags spend 25-30 million for a brand new ride or reimagine the current Ka? That’s the million dollar question
It isn't going to be reimagined after the nightmare they have had reimagining TT2 . Theres no way cedar fair will want to go through that nightmare again. You have to be crazy to think that. Also they are trying to get out of debt so why would they waste a lot of money on reimagining a 20 year old coaster that make no sense.
@ so with that being said, do you think Six Flags will spend 100 Million for an expansion of Great Adventure? They already spent 30 million to build Ka which is 50 million in today’s money. Then, you scrap it only to replace it with another sizable investment 🤷🏽♂️
@@zelowatch30Its not iconic to cedar fair and they dont care if it is to coaster enthusiasts. Too cedar fair it's just another roller coaster thats costing them a lot of money in maintenance and parts it also old almost 20 years old. Parts are not even being stocked for this roller coaster anymore as it too old. if a part breaks it has to be manufactured at a very expensive cost then shipped to the park. Its not new or groundbreaking anymore. Ka will also lose the worlds tallest roller coaster record in 2025 that is going to happen. These are all valid logical reasons for it's removal.
@ChrisD72 I doubt it will just be removed without a thought in place. I mean sure, it makes economic sense to CF but new attractions is what keeps people coming back. KA's investment really paid off at least to Six Flags.
There's no reason they couldn't have this ride ready to open for 2025. Possibly at the beginning of their season but certainly by midsummer? Especially if Intamin is behind the project.
My guess. Ka will get an extension with a second lsm launch on the camel back, speeding up to 165 mph going into a massive and record breaking 650ft inverted top hat mirrored to the existing one 😮
Im actually sad about green lantern having ridden Chang back then.. i just live kinda far away. .. i genuinely liked Chang, Mantis, and Georgia Scorcher.. not Vortex (Carowinds) For Ka.. I trust your speculation as much as Ryan and CStudios.. so let's hope the lack of a permit means I can at least get both hydraulic strata coasters.. i was waiting for flash to join the ranks at least. Even if ka is merely not fully removed
the space you show is even larger than tt2 so a spike might not even be needed, maybe just an extended single lsm launch like what intamin originally proposed for dragster. to my understanding cedar point didn't go that route because they didn't want to remove iron dragon. green lantern is confirmed gone so its not out of the question. this way cedar point can keep their record for tallest multi launch and ka can still exist without breaking the bank
I’m really, truly hoping since Cedar Fair always wanted GAdv, they give us the investments we truly need. A B&M Strata would be perfect. A giga would be way too similar to nitro.
I’m happy I’m not the only one who thinks this, every other ride got permits but not ka and zoomenjaro

@@ChrisD72that’s on,y because zamperla reimagined that
@@ChrisD72
That was in part due to selecting Zamperla to do the work, when it was a project on a scale they’ve never done before.

@ one word.
I can't believe cedar point didn't want to remove the BORING Iron dragon they even got wild mouse to be the new family coaster
Yes 6 rides are done. 4 new ones will be up and running in 2025. And 2 will be up and running in 2026. The big replacement one that everyone wants to know about will be called Launch Coaster. I'm opinion is that they should leave it up and tear down some of the other boring rides instead
I 100% agree!! Now that they have the whole Green Lantern plot they can maybe end the ride with something that can be a standalone mega/hyper coaster?
Why would they do that? They have Nitro? My guess would be a Tilt Coaster for Green Lantern plot or something Vekoma
If it’s a B&M Strata, I will feel much better and relieved about the entire situation because that would be epic.
I really hope it’s not a b&m giga. It’ll just be a 50ft taller version of nitro
I would love to see a giga around 370 foot tall and 7000+ feet long

@@ChrisD72where did you get that information from. Six Flags has not come out and said anything. That statement is not a fact

It’s being removed ………
I think LSM KA would be incredible and tbh I don’t think a giga holds the same weight as KA asmuch as I love gigas especially with the GP
I really liked Kingda Ka's construction timelapse.

With the completion of falcons furry I would not be surprised to see six flags corp work with Intman on this plot of land.

This is unlikely but it would be cool if it comes back as the worlds tallest fastest and now longest launch coaster with one launch
They are not going to reimagine ka they have already decided not to do that.
They are not going to reimagine ka they have already decided not to do that.
@ so are you just going to reply the same exact thing to every one of my comments
It may have a longer launch track but it has to climb higher in the air than Dragster
It would most likely be Intamin
@@rollercoasterheaven2170 This is Cedar Fair. They won't be working with Intamin.

maybe they make Kingda Ka longer without a spike (it has a longer launch track they may be able to do it with lsm's without a spike from INTAMIN this time)
I agree with you - mostly so there is a coaster in the US that rivals Falcon’s Flight. I bet the spike is 500 feet.
Kinda happy I got on Kinga Ka when it was relatively new.
That is an interesting perspective on the situation. I agree the focus on food offerings makes sense
Vortex was removed couple years ago. . But i think we will have the baddest giga ever

I have two theories…
1. Ka stays and just gets a full refurb and a new coaster goes into the Green Lantern plot of land and interacts with KA
2. KA gets reimagined and we see a new area from the boardwalk to Green Lantern/Superman
They are not going to reimagine or refurb ka they have already decided not to do that.
@ I’ll believe it when I see it
I personally don’t think Ka is going anywhere, they may give it a makeover but I don’t think they’ll get rid of it.
Unless premier or intamin can do it
Or maybe Zamperla agreed to do it at like almost cost or even less lol
In NJ only Intamin can re imagine the ride, it's a law by NJ. Great Adventure was offered 3 options. 1 option was work with Intamin to redesign it.

They wont be keeping it keep dreaming!!
That ride is truly the main draw to the park
P.S. they had space behind the parachute that was never used and I personally believe these plans have been in the works since 2022 when the parachute closed so they can prepare for an extension for kingda Ka. But that’s just a theory.
This plot of land screams RMC T-Rex to me!!!!
No that would be weird we already have an RMC Raptor

losing Ka would be horrible 😔 i noticed the sign that states Ka could experience a rollback was gone on saturday. it was located in the queue line in the last row of bars near the bamboo. it was not there saturday. was there the week before. very interesting

It’s crazy their gonna take out that many rides when theirs not a whole lot of other coasters that can handle all that capacity left over but then again attendance will drop big time because of this
I am with you on this 100%
dang a classic parachute ride and a top spin, that sucks
I’m so sad! This is one of the greatest rides ever. It’s THE reason we travel all the way to Jersey.
I hope they add a dark ride based on The Amazing Digital Circus!
Wild speculation: Kingda Ka stays, gets a spike, and gets *extended* into a strata-giga hybrid using Green Lantern's plot of land. This would involve demolition of *most* of the existing ride, and would likely include a rename/retheme, which would explain the reports of its imminent demise, but would also keep the park's crown jewel attraction *and* avoid making Top Thrill 2 obsolete by offering a completely different experience.
that sounds wildly expensive

Here is my thinking too. Zamperla owes them big time for the top thrill 2 embarrassment. Not only do they have to fix their mistakes on top thrill 2, but they owe them for a lost season of having that thing down. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me at all if an agreement was reached to have ka updated as to make up for top thrill 2.
They are not going to reimagine ka they have already decided not to do that.
They have upgraded LSM systems too
I think Zamperla offered them a killer deal to convert Ka since they screwed up TT2
I think they'll install a longer launch and do it with lsm, like with Red Force
I gave it 100% that they are not reimagining, ka because of the issue Cedar Point has had with TT2
Green Green Lantern , twister and the parachute tower are all been confirmed to be demolished. They would not remove all that to reimagined. Ka.
And they would not close the drop tower if they were reimagining ka

I agree with you. Ka will not be removed and the investment is gonna be “Huge”!!
RIP to Green Lantern (formerly Chang) as one of the world's most underrated and underappreciated roller coasters.
I heard the new coaster will be named Roaring Thunder
Your thoughts are well founded, hopefully something comes from the removal of so many rides something really big most likely over a few seasons.
why can't the plans for the replacement going over kinda ka turn around. that would also make sense for a closure
Removing three rides to only “redo” 1 would be awful as well!
Your logic makes sense on all fronts.
@@ChrisD72 Because its iconic. They don't have to do much, just add lantern's track to it and it will be a super coaster much more thrilling.
I think they will re-use the ka tower for something with a longer layout that is more reliable.
I do signage for a major park, and I’m gonna chuckle if they took the Zumanjaro sign down for a refurb and that’s all that happens.
Zumanjaro’s sign has been off for most of the season, idk how ppl just realized now
Did they end up getting a new entrance like promised? Could they be moving there entrance to the green latern area?
There's no reason they couldn't have this ride ready to open for 2025. Possibly at the beginning of their season but certainly by midsummer? Especially if Intamin is behind the project.
My guess. Ka will get an extension with a second lsm launch on the camel back, speeding up to 165 mph going into a massive and record breaking 650ft inverted top hat mirrored to the existing one 😮
Im actually sad about green lantern having ridden Chang back then.. i just live kinda far away. .. i genuinely liked Chang, Mantis, and Georgia Scorcher.. not Vortex (Carowinds)
For Ka..
Imagine that instead of a spike, they would add a second tower :O
Six Flags Investors stated SFGA will receive a record breaking launched coaster so yeah KK is getting redone
Yeah except for the fact they said they’re going to remove it so unfortunately not
Optimistically a spike for KA and a giga going around it.
Removing ka artificially makes tt2 the tallest coaster in the world currently…
I’m really, truly hoping since Cedar Fair always wanted GAdv, they give us the investments we truly need. A B&M Strata would be perfect. A giga would be way too similar to nitro.
I will put it this way. If they remove Kingda Ka I got no reason to get a season pass to this dirty theme park again. I will switch to Hershey
They didn't file permits to tear it down.... Just the other 3 rides
Nah you’re missing that there are orange paint markers all around ka
What if those at footer markers
I don't want to be a pessimistic person here but i have such a strong feeling they're going to put a really tall mac spinner 😐
As long as they dont ask Zamperla for Ka rework, Everything would bei fine 😂
