  • Principles of cavity preparation for Inlay and Onlay cast preparation and inlay onlay restoration by Aspire32 is made by Dr. Suresh Shenvi and is a continuation of the video series on cast restorations. Cast alloys can be used to restore intra-coronal ( Inlay ) or extra-coronal restorations ( Onlay, Crowns). Principles of cavity preparation for cast restorations are the rules which the dentist needs to follow in order to get very good success in cast restorations. In this video, we explain the bevels, the types of bevels, flares, preparation path, taper, skirts, collar, and many other features that are routinely asked in the exam. Easy dentistry at Aspire32 helps grasp such topics of Dentistry in the simplest possible way for dental students and dentists.
    This video of Aspire 32 is made by Dr. Suresh Shenvi who has cleared various exams like ADAT, NBDE from the USA, DHA from Dubai, and various Indian Entrance exams like PGI, KCET, NEET. I am MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics by profession. I am also an author of dental books on the entrance exam and I am also currently a faculty at KLE University and a receiver or best teacher award.

    Hello,I had a doubt,
    1)Does dental inlay,onlay have more long term durability than normal dental fillings?
    2)Which process has more chances of mircoleakages - dental inlay onlay or normal dental fillings
    (Incase of fillings on molar teeths)

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The success does not only depends on type of restoration Material. For example in small lesion the composite are durables too but in case where multiple cups are lot we have to consider other restoration. So its not just about caries in molar, it depends on the size of it and the amount of tooth structure remaining. Thats how we select. Micorleakge depends on multiple factors too. Like which cement was used, if its in composite then it also depends on the type of composite and how u cured it. Do watch the dental materials series on Aspire32 to understand it better

    Hi sir could you please tell out of the inlay - onlay - crown - which causes the most post operative sensitivity and which is the least ??

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sensitivity is not dependent on the inlay or onlay. It depends on how good is the seal between restoration and tooth
