I've learned over the years to make my planner my best friend. It helps me keep track of everything! Must admit I've not used it a lot for my quilting but am going to start. I need to keep track of current & future projects. My family has noted that my quilting projects are actually getting finished (in record time)! Specifically for a Quilter's planner, a nice feature would be one that has pockets & perhaps pages that can be added in, like a 3 ring binder. I love the one that has the pencil holder also...that is a great idea!!!
I have used many planners over the years when I worked as a teacher. I have not tried a planner for craft/sewing projects. I think I would enjoy the Scrappy one you showed on your fireside chat. Now that I'm retired I don't always pay attention to the calendar and I'm not usually worried about dates and deadlines, more about the planning and keeping track of the details.
I use planners to help keep me organized. Without them, I would be a total MESS!! Ha! I usually fade out of using a planner by half way through the year... but I'm getting better each year.
We would push our thumb into the bottom of the chocolate to make sure it wasn’t the icky jelly ones. My favorites were the caramels. I need a planner to use for next year to get organized.
I am a planner person through and through! Raising 5 children and having a husband that traveled extensively for years I couldn't have done school, dance, martial arts, and more without one! Now the children are grown, but 3 grands and 2 sons in law added to the family mix plus me working part time could be chaotic but I calender everything!!!
Merry Christmas, Pat! Yes, I do rewrap a pretty box of sweets after opening it sometimes. I guess it still feels like a present that way! Looking forward to quilting along with you in the new year.
I've never used a planner for quilting but would love to get one! I used a weekly/monthly planner when my kids were younger and I was working and it really saved my sanity with all the different activities of 3 kids and work projects at once, so I'd love to try a planner for my quilting projects
@@blebecky Did you know there is a wonderful quilt shop in Shiloh called Country Fabrics? Amish owned and most fabrics are $8 yd. I think they say they have over 10,000 bolts of fabrics. Do you ever visit Ohio?
@@cathiedawson5961 All my family is long gone. I haven't been back since '76. My mother said I was better off with my memories since the farm was bought by a corporation, and all the buildings except the farm house were torn down. The farm was on Rt 314 on the left hand side as you drive towards Shelby, about 3 miles before you cross the RR tracks at Stiving Rd. I don't know if the tracks are still there. There were 3 houses clustered together, 2 shared a lane and one was across the road. I don't remember east or west, etc. I was 11 when we moved to Phoenix in '62. I no longer remember the names of roads. I'm sure the area is built up. I also had family in Shiloh who owned a huge dairy farm. I'll give you my email if you'd like to visit more: blebecky@yahoo.com I'll check out the quilt shop on line. Thanks.
Hello Pat, I have only been quilting since last January. I never wanted to make a quilt (bcz of the work involved) but, last Christmas my husband surprised me with a sewing machine that could zigzag (previous I used a featherweight). I was so grateful for this gift I wanted to make him something special like a quilt. Since then, I made 16 quilts. I never thought about scraps until I found you, so I am extremely grateful for your guidance. I become so motivated over your helpful suggestions. Thank you so much. 👍 Have a wonderful Christmas and God Bless you, Greg & family, Chris-Raleigh NC *Please forgive me for not being up to date with technology. Maneuvering around websites is slow going for me. I’m not a FB person, though I’m thinking I may have to get on it ☺️
It's Christmas Eve here in Australia, it's very hot and we are waiting for the thunderstorm to get here. Skies are black and rumbling is in the distance. Heading out to the studio to do some final gift wrapping and then want to do a couple of sewing jobs. Hopefully will get them done in time. Might have to do a Santa's elves overtime tonight. Have a wonderful Christmas. Put your feet up and enjoy. Cheers
Hi Pat, Your videos are so interesting, fun and helpful! I’ve been quilting since 2002, but only tried using project planning sheets in a regular notebook for keeping track of projects (sporadically). Sounds like the Traffic Jam project would be a great way to begin the new year a bit more organized! Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas from Georgia🎁🎄Patty Guy
Merry Christmas Pat. Thank you for all the wonderful chats. I use my planner to plan a craft and/or tracking just how long it took to accomplish an item! You are amazing and FUNNY too!

Happy Holidays from Hawaii. Love the 2.5" squares scrappy idea, whether random or planned - great way to use scraps.
Ho ho ho. You look really cute with your Santa hat on!
I use a planner for work that’s used the month/day option. I think the Scrappy Project Planner would be great for quilting.
Merry Christmas and happy new year!

A chocolate "map" is critical!! :)
I use a calendar more than planners. This year I hope to do more planning... specifically sewing planning. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
I'm more of a last minute person than a planner. Happy Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
Merry Christmas from Mansfield Ohio! Thank you Pat for sharing your knowledge and keeping me inspired to sit at my machine.
Hi, Cathie. I'm originally from Shelby. Moved to Phx in 1962.

I love the concept of the traffic jam quilt. Is there a way to make it larger, like maybe a queen size. Merry Christmas from WA state.
I’m not a planner but maybe it would motivate me to get quilting again. I haven’t made anything in a year.
Gingersnaps are one of the cookies I make!
