A short compressed video of the famous ladder section on Tour du Mont Blanc, from Tré le Champ to La Flegere, filmed in POV. Ladders starts at around 2000m, and section ends at Tête aux Vents (2132m)
Were you able to do it. Feel proud. Now you know what it is to break through fear and take a blind step. Courage is demonstrated with actions and not with words. Now, next time take a harness and the via ferrata anchor carabiners. Never take anything for granted, even in a short step that supposedly seems easy to you. Greetings from a mountaineer with a lot of experience.
Nice video, very fun! For anyone else coming across this deciding whether to take the ladders or go around, they weren't nearly as scary to me in person as this video makes them look, though. I think the wide angle of the camera lens makes the paths look more narrow and the drops even bigger. In the end we were really glad we did the ladders.
I hope they aren't as bad as it looked on this video. I am a 64 yr old mom, taking her 24 yr old daughter, and I fear of tripping hazards with those metal grate steps and such, but I want to push past the tripping and falling mentality and do it. Nice to have read your comment.
This was the part that had me worried beforehand, back in September 2012. As I recall, the second ladder (the one you shift left to) was by far the scariest/most exposed, with basically nothing underneath. I just counted out loud, and did it, looking only up. After that, even the following part with that first long hand railing didn't seem so bad. The rest (including that long one up the rock face) was mainly just strenuous - as was much of the trail up to Lac Blanc. But you could not pay me enough to go DOWN those ladders.
@@NextCornerByClaesTolleback Is this going up to Lac Blanc in that section? I'm doing the Haute Route in a few months and thinking of starting with Lac Blanc then continuing to Le Tour for the first night, which would presumably include this section in reverse?

I did the TMB in 2006. We didn't know about this section and came to it on the first day. We had to climb down.
thanks for sharing that! I have fear of height and am debating whether to do this section or not

All respect you made this part! I saw you was afraid of hi, I recognise that as I have the same problem!

Which part of TMB is that?

@@randyarcher9345 Well, there are many options availible, but if you hike the "Tour" towards Argentière, then you should pass the ladders going down..
Oj vilken vandring stark av dig 👏🏻💪🏻
Kan inte sluta tänka på vad som händer om en fågel flyger upp och skrämmer en. Burrr!
