I LOOOOOOVED THIS. I CAN EVEN UNDERSTAND IT CLEARLY!!!!!!! PLEASE MORE MORE MORE AND EVEN MORE!!!!!!!!!! PLEAS REVIVE THIS WONDERFULL LANGUAGE SO THAT IT BECOMES EASY FOR US ALL HABESHAS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS OURS. I FEEL ASHAMED THAT I DONT KNOW IT AS MUCH AS TIGRINYA OR ATLIST AMHARIC OR ARABIC.
VERY VERY NICE DEEEEEP RHYTHM AND MELODY IN THE DIRECT ANCESTOR OF Tigrigna and strong influencer of Amharic also the RED ZURIA from 38-48 WAS TOP QUALITY!!!!!!
Good Job once again Bro you are very creative and you have a very nice voice so keep it up and yes good job on GeEz its a language not just for church you trying to revive it
geEz qanqa tafno endayker mtaregew tret betam midenek new. ketlbet tsehaye!!! you are not only music player but also teacher of language. we proud by you.
What a nice love song! I do not speak Geez, but as a Tigrigna speaker, I can tell this song was designed with Tigrigna and Amharic speakers in mind. I mean the Geez words similar to Tigr. and Amh. were selected. good job
I am just curious, is there a ቸ ቹ ቺ ቻ ቼ ቾ ቿ letters in GEEZ Language? I am not asking about TIGRIGNA or AMHARIC language letters. I am emphasizing on the old GEEZ language ( currently is in use by the Eritrean and Ethiopian Orthodox Churches). Because in this song I heard him saying “ ፍቅርቺ ሃየለ".
Well, I am not sure about that, will you give me a reference for that? it would be interesting to know. However, the question is: If Geez is used in the church, and the church is preaching Singing "Alemawi zefen' is considered as sin , then Who is the target audience???
@DinDinx1: it is true, there are researchers in Europe who are trying to explore more about the language, but that is insignificant and that is not the point. The question is: who is the target audience of the singer? "Today Ge'ez remains only as the main language used in the liturgy of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, the Ethiopian Catholic Church, and also the Beta Israel Jewish community."
Hetep resurrecting Ge'ez by song smart move. So you can now make video teaching and showing writing in caption along with hearing the pronunciations through song.
Ethiopic Bible charity needs volunteers to translate Geez canon to English for the benefit of Ethiopic Christians and expatriots. Scholars would also be very interested, as would I and many others: ethiopianorthodoxbible.wordpress.com. People don't realize that many of the books in the Ethiopic canon are not found anywhere else!
Who said so? Are you going to eliminate the language from some of the European universities, by claiming it belongs only to the church? Geez is just a language! Do not relate it only to the church. You can find so many secular written works through this language. If it has to revive, it is necessary to involve in such secular areas again. The target is anyone, who wishes to learn and see the revival of the language. Think Big!

I don’t give a rat a** whatever ya think, whither it for church only whatever. But I really like it. His voice is good and the song is soulful. Keep it up bro…
I really appreciate your effort. It will help to promote the dying Geez music. But What I had noticed is the geez is much more beutiful and melodious when spoken to praise God than for this purpose becouse the instruments used are nasty.
1. Who is your target? , Most of us don't understand the Geez language, and those who understand the language are priests in Ethiopian Orthodox church, where Music is considered us worldly not spiritual. 2. Distraction of EOC culture: I understand the guy want's to be creative, but as far as EOC, Geez was only dedicated to praise the lord, which is one of the unique identity and culture of the Ethiopian Orthodox church .
sent571 You are absolutely wrong. Geez language was not created for spritual purpose only to begin with. It was one of those historic linguistic of the Agazians who settled in Eritrea and in tigray of Ethiopia. By the way geez belongs to Eritreans and tigrayans more than any body else. And when this singer used geez for his song, he is just reviving it. I applaud him for that. Tigrigna speaking people can understand him very well what he is saying in his lyrics.
Who decided that Geez is only for church services? That is wrong conclusion. Geez was one of the old historic languages which was spoken by Agazians/Abyssinian societies for over a thousand years in their daily lives including in their social fabrics and religious practices. However, when societies evolved in a life span of over thousand years, Geez started to diminish from social lives of the agazian/abyssinian societies, but Orthodox churches in Eritrea and Ethiopia keep using it in their church services till to this day. Because Orthodox church uses it till to this day, it does not mean that it belongs only for Orthodox church. Right now, If people in Ethiopia and Eritrea specially tigrigna speaking and Amharic speaking people of both countries start to use it in their social fabrics, Geez can be revived back easily.
sent571 i am eritrea is understand what he is saying , geez is our holly language, lovely spritual biblic language .like arabic to muslim .geez to orthodox tewahdo
Shut up for godsake u lier ge'ez is a thousand years older than Christianity it self it was formerly a pagan language and pagans single as much as they want ge'ez is not a church language its an Ethiopiaic language which belong to every Ethiopian and eritrean doesn't matter which religion they follow or what their culture is
Lesson time. 1) Agazi is a name given by Menelik I for 20,000 troops. There is no such thing as Agazi nation. 2) Ge'ez is a sacred language. That's why soldiers and the state used can't use it. Agazi and Ge'ez are two different things. Read some history! Don't say Agazi soldiers brought the holly language Ge'ez. Makes you look like an idiot brainwashed by politicians.

Brilliant. How ever some errors are noted in the lyrics. For instance 'wede semay' is not Ge'ez, it is 'habe semay' instead.
