Overview of Bioreactors and Fermentors - Getinge Applikon

In this video we provide an overview of the 7L Getinge Applikon Fermentation Biobundle system.
The bundle features the ez2-Controller with over 3,000 units placed in the international market. The controller features an easy to use HMI for all critical system controls where the controller can be easily configured with standard software as well as 21 CFR part 11 compliant software.
For gas additions the system houses 4 rotameters for nitrogen, compressed air, oxygen and carbon dioxide. Depending on the clients need for precision dosing of gas (Mass flow controllers) can also be onboarded. This unit also features 3 liquid addition pumps, alkali, addition 2 and antifoam.
The sensors that can be coupled to the system include a pH, DO (dissolved oxygen), temperature, level and redox sensor. All this works together to regulate a precision fermentation reaction.
Coupled to the controller is a 7L fermentor system. With an overhead brushless motor coupled to a shaft that can feature a range of impellers subject to the system requirements. The system 316 stainless steel headplate also offers a multitude of adaptions that can be made ranging from liquid additions, sampling, cold fingers, probe additions, etc. The fermentor features baffles and a L-sparger. Finally temperature regulation is achieved by the electrical trace heater.
