The way Paulie describes how he can talk to Karen is the only reference to the real life affair between the two of them.

@@Goosavich Think what you want. That wasn't a reference to the affair at all. Paulie simply said that he especially knew how to talk to Karen, meaning he had that type of rapport with her. @@davidsamuels9557 in the mafia world, I would say it is logical. Paulie was a made capo, Henry was an associate. Paulie could say whatever he wanted about an affair if he were arrogant enough. Great visual detail:
Despite Paulie and Jimmy trying to be cordial with Henry, their blocking in the scene says otherwise and gives off the energy of a threat. Both Jimmy and Pauly essentially corner Henry with their positioning, especially with Jimmy towering over him.
This shows how despite Henry having the freedom to intimidate and rob whomever he wants, the mob life still has rules and restrictions he must abide by or else he will be killed.

@@nicholecrawford7367 Yeah and Tommy tried to rape her. That's also a reason he was killed, along with the Batts murder. Paulie found out from Karen that Tommy tried to rape her and he knew Jimmy was there when they killed Batts so he basically told Jimmy to give up Tommy to Gotti over the murder of Billy Batts or else he would tell Gotti that he was involved too. The only reason he didn't turn Tommy over to Gotti as soon as he found out was because Tommy was a great earner and a seriously feared enforcer and he wasn't going to let Gotti just kill a potential made man for a cunt like Batts who was trying to get his gambling rackets back from Paulie and Jimmy when he got out of prison. You can hear them talking about it just before Tommy tries to kill him in the bar scene. Jimmy and Paulie confronting Henry on his most recent screw ups. I thought for sure Jimmy was gonna wack him down in Tampa and then come back and tell his wife he had an accident or something, because that's how it always works in these situations. The way Paulie told him he was replacing Tommy and that he wanted him to go down to Tampa and enjoy himself in the sun and take a little vacation. That was the perfect set up to get rid of Henry without him suspecting anything.
