His Scottish accent comes through so much more on this live version, more so than the studio recording, and I love it

Paolo is tremendously talented. I don’t know what happened but he seems to have dropped out of the public eye, I hope he finds his way back because he’s very special.
He will be back this was the performance were I knew that I was watching greatness in the making 🙌 then I heard iron sky which validated everything that I thought abt even back then the man is untouchable and will go down as one of the 🐐 he's just taking his time abt 👍

I like him for that though. Doesn't push himself on everyone and remains incredibly humble. He's probably working on something right now and will let us hear it when he feels its right. He's got conviction with his talent and doesn't just put music out because he can!

after almost 10 years, this song and this performance are still one of my favorite of all time. This young lad, in a football shirt and sneakers, comes to the stage and belts out a song better than any other singer ever. Mesmerizing.

It’s 2024 and I miss him more than ever.
It's taken me 5 years to listen to this song again, and I still cry. I had to have my beautiful German Shepherd put to sleep. He was terrified of vets, so I got the vet to come to my home and do it. I had the album These Streets playing, and just as the needle went in this song came on. Slow down, lie down, granting a last request, laying down beside me., for one last time lets go there, and wandering down that one way road. Breaks my heart remembering the lights going out. So I'm so sorry Paolo that this song has a different meaning for me. And I'm glad you sing it in a different key now. It makes it just a bit more bearable to listen to. Though I'm typing this with tears in my eyes.
@Christina Demitro Thank you for your kind words. It is definitely the hardest thing I've ever done, and I've been through a lot. Something died in me that day, I don't know what, but you probably feel the same after losing Daisy. Like you, I will never get over that pain. One thing that helps a tiny bit, is that he Jake never knew cruelty existed, he had a long and happy life like Daisy. Where some dogs never know one day of kindness.
But people have said to me get another, but no. I am never going through that again. I know what you mean about staying with her after she had passed. I didn't want them to take Jake away. But they were so gentle and respectful. Putting him on a stretcher, wrapping him up in blankets then taking him to the animal ambulance. Gods blessings to you. I wish I could say it goes away, but as I said in my comment, 5 years and this song still makes me cry. Poor Paolo, we have ruined his song, he isn't singing about a dog. But it is about loss. I'm sorry for ruining it for you too.
@Christina Demitro Thank you. It's strange you should mention Daisy dancing with your kids to that song. I would play The Travelling Wilbury's album, and Jake would be lying fast asleep or in another room, but when the song Wilbury Twist came on he would immediately jump up, start barking at me until I stood up and we would dance with his paws on my shoulders. Then when it finished he went back to bed. As you say, a right character. The song has been played a lot since Tom Petty sadly died, and it makes me smile and fill my eyes with tears. Peace to you too.

My dad has always appreciated Paolo so I've been listening to him since a very young age, including this specific cover of Last Request. I am now nearly 18 and after a good couple years of not listening to him I have rediscovered him and I can truly say I appreciate him as much as my dad did and still does. Beautiful song with a beautiful voice ❤️

It's hard to explain, but his voice kind of reminds of the late, great Marvin Gaye. What an amazing performance at just 19, plus having wrote that himself, just shows you his immense talent. I really recommend listening to 'iron sky' live at Abbey road.
