have you played the older one "thehunter classic" or a similar game " Cabelas big hunt" if not I recommend them. they both very similar to this game but would change things up and give you something new to do. of course come back to call of the wild.

Me: Takes over 1 hour of stalking and sweat to miss my shot...
Early on I was the same way 😂 spent forever stalking an elk only to flesh shot it and never see it again
But how is his sights so steady? Crap my shakes like I drank 6 red bulls.....even when holding my breath. Its ruining the game for me.
@@marcusvonmaximus8071 oh man lmao did u figure it out? There are some perks to help steady your aiming and make your breath last longer 😂 but it can still be really annoying with certain guns
@@breannathompson9094I'm level 24 now and got the perks for breathing and it still doesn't last like in the video.Its better but still annoying at times. I like the game but there are a lot of things that need touching up. See how it runs after the update thats suppose to be coming with another map. Kind of scared about it since they said they will spread the animals out even more. Crap they can be a pain finding now. These videos are deceiving because you see them finding animals left and right, including diamonds, but there is a crap ton of editing going on.

this game lack of feature, cabela ultimate deer hunt from PS1 was masterpiece. it had night & day, you can sleep in a tent, you have vehicle, you can buy so many tools to hunt. just awesome. i wish there is new game like that again.

@@ihsan75y i play the pplaystation 2, 2002 big game hunter every so often. That game had everything. The tag buying aspect, career mode, instant hunting, vehicles, gear, guns, landscape/maps and animals. Man that game made my childhood. This is the closest game to that.

for people who have never played this game, IT IS THE MOST REALISTIC HUNTING GAME, i spend hours on it the maps are huge what makes it realistic is you could walk around for hours and not see anything, only get if your looking for realism not action.
Just gottta learn the drink times on every map for every animal and then you can set up tents and blinds in the best spots and start your grind 🤷🏼♂️

@@baedenhynds9038 just crouch and walk around listen for sounds of walking and in the distance look for movement and if you want find tracks and follow when you find dung see how old it is and if its fresh your on the right track.

, just keep in mind this is not GTA, Fallout, Just Cause or anything so you are not hunting humans. In this game, you are hunting....ANIMALS. In other words, don't gun and run but SNEAK. Animals are dumbfoundingly sensitive and fearful of us human beings.
With how much hunting I do in Red Dead Redemption 2, part of me was thinkin' "maybe I should just pick up a hunting game instead?" Lol! XD

it's 2021 and I have downloaded this game yeaterday for the first time. I'm a life time gamer and it's definitely the hardest game I have ever played. (btw i'm a hunter in real life also) Great content

Follow the trails until you hear something or find tracks. When you do start tracking something crouch while you try to get close. Otherwise they run

being the experienced fps player that I am, this game is definitely a change of pace for me. I'm use to just running in, catching the ai off guard and blasting them lol.

Lemme give you a tip. NEVER track animals unless they're bleeding and you're giving chase. You will SPEND so much time tracking, the only time you'd be able to get a kill in while tracking is if they want to go eat drink or rest. You will find so many more animals from just walking around, and you can just walk instead of sprint or crouch, the animals won't know.

I am a beginner ( I started yesterday) and I went up to a moose and just gave him a shotty shell to his leg. I tracked him, shot him in the spine, tracked him more, and gave him a shotgun shell to his lung. I was so proud
those beast are hard to kill. ill go for the heart
Only played COW for a week or two, but got some hrs logged on the first theHunter. I love hunting with a bow and arrow, and can't stop smiling when I track and kill bison or buffalo with a single shot.
Easily one of my all time favourite games ever!
I tried soft points on bear when I first got the game needless to say it didn’t go to well
same i ended up wasting like an hour trying to hunt a bear with soft points and i was new so i was aiming for the head least fun i had in a game

I somehow managed to get a bear as my first kill on the first shot. I'm proud of that
iSharpedge same actually. I shot him through the lungs with the .243 after playing for like 5 minutes. Then it took me like 4 hours to kill another animal lol
@@poopedyscoopedy3288 When in real life a 243 soft point will shatter a bears skull. The round is more powerful at 500 yards than a 5.56 round is at 200.

The soft points do more damage in that they expand as they hit so you don't have to be as accurate. They don't penitrate deep but they destroy whatever they hit.

@Arcadius If you're playing like lv60 Flinter because you're trying to do what he does, then you're scaring off everything within a 250m radius.
German Hunter here, I you go hunting in real life, don't go for spine shots. You'll hit the spinous process, the deer will collapse, wiggle its feet and after a short time run off. Very difficult for a dog to find even if it dies eventually. Inhumane and just suboptimal shot placement. I get that this is a game. Waidmannsheil.
You should make another series of this now that you have four years of experience and now that this series is severely outdated
I just bought this game about two weeks ago, and at first, I kind of hated it. Every shot had to be perfect. Then, I made a decision that changed my COTW life: I bought the Modern Rifle Pack DLC for $3.99 and equipped the Zarza-10 .308
Let me say this: if you are a beginner, and you want to level up the old fashioned way, don't do this. Stick with the .243, and take your time.
But if you want to progress a million times faster, and actually knock down your targets without having to be right on top of them, spend the $4, buy the DLC, and be amazed.
I cannot stress to you enough the difference that it made. It is literally a game-changer. It will be the best $4 you've ever spent.
Spent about 2 hours getting no kills except one deer I did kill in my first hour. Spotted moose near the water but had no luck.
Then found this video and realized the animals can sense you from far away. Found a mythical bear but it got away. 5 minutes later killed two black tail deer. So going to keep trying for a bit longer on getting better.

Hey Flinter, rewatching this one again. I can hear how much your voice has changed from 2018 to 2021. Would love it if you did a new beginner guides, maybe starting on a different map. There was no way I could harvest a moose or bear when I first started. I was lucky to get a decent hit into a lvl 2 deer...lol I don't think you will. but it would be great to watch.

This game is so great. Its so fun to play a walking simulator like this. You walk for hours and hours so you can get one shot at an animal. Then, when you shoot them right in the head they just run for miles and miles, pretty much invincible such a fun game!
Skill issue
I found using soft point with the 243 on bears brain shot works perfect even at distance but if it's feeding and lowers its head up close you can get skull brain and neck bones/spine for 100% quick kill I haven't had great luck with lung and spine broadside with this gun and softpoints

It is realistic? No animal would survive a neck shot, you either hit an artery, sever the windpipe or sever the spinal column

I think he’s referring to the fact that it’s illegal to shoot them with a rifle.
I know this is a little over a year after you recorded this, but it is STILL extremely helpful. I would love if you did this again with updated tips for the newer systems.

I dont understand...i am new to this game but when i run i never see anything...i have even crouched and walked around for over an hour and never seen a single animal...how are you running around and seeing animals every 30 seconds? You are running and are withing 100ft of some of these animals if i run i cant find one...

Pro tip: Dont watch edited videos
You can run on roads to get to places faster and make less noise, and watch out for animal calls. As soon as you see or hear the animal, you can just sneak up there and kill it, ofc watch out for wind direction too.
M8 just run to the other end of lakes, animal gathering points, you can also run to places in high ground, openings Beneath, use your bingos too, you can will often see animals in the distant foliage, then you go from there :)
I just got this game on PS5 and man I feel they nerved the amount of animals. You've seen more animals in 10 minutes than I've seen in 2 hours lol.
It is heavily edited you can see hen he killed the duck at the beginning that he travel 700m away from the first moose. I heard that the more need zones you find the more animals start to spawn.

3:18 I just started a game, saw a black bear next to the starting deer, but he ran and I got a shotgun shot to the lung. 5 minutes after and the purle area showed up. My first kill of my new character was a black bear with a shotgun lmaoo

I just started playing on xbox. was reluctant at first because for years I can't find a hunting game that comes close to Atari's deer hunter or trophy hunter. the one thing I'm most disappointed with this one is my max view range is 465 yards, Trophy hunter my ole lady and me would take ram at 600+.

I play a game called Dayz which is a zombie apocalypse survival game. In this you often need to shoot animals to survive. I enjoy harvesting the meat, making the fire and cooking up the meat and the feeling of surviving and living off the land. I was looking at some chill survival games to play and came across this, which is obviously much more in depth. It looks really good. The trouble is I just find something inherently distasteful about killing animals just for fun, for trophies. Even in a video game it just seems really depressing to me. I will never understand why anyone would want to kill an animal if not to eat it.

Spine shot on a black bear is totally doable with a .243, soft point. I did it at almost 100 yds, at one time. :-)

Take hunters Education get a license and go hunting it's an awesome experience. This game is fun but doesn't give you the same adrenaline rush or excitement as when your actually hunting.

Some people wear orange or bright colors so they don't get shot. I don't wear it because the animals I'm hunting can see me easier as well. I won't get shot unless someone is trespassing on my property. Most of the time when I'm hunting it'll usually be for deer so I'd be up in my deer blind.

I lost all my progress, pretty much. I had just purchased the Vurhonga Savanna reserve and after only a couple of minutes, it crashed. When I restarted, my save was gone. No option other than start a new game. I was around level 34, had most weapons unlocked and owned and Stalker skills mostly learned and had a lot of credits. I had Steam Cloud activated at the time but it had saved only my progress to level 7.
The game must have an issue with saving because when I asked how to manually save my profile in the forums, a dev told me how he does it. Now why would he be making his own saves outside the game if it had no issues? Anyway, fun game.

Yeah you get the .270 Strat for free but you still can't equip it until you have a high enough rifle score.

Was on a Lyton Map the other day for the 1st time in a very long while. There were no animals compared to when I started. It would a very tuff job in vanilla starting out
I dropped my first moose by accident i was aiming and i spotted him after tracking him for a little while and he was my first kill actually but i ended up killing him with a heart shot 😂

@Shadowhunter Pretty hard to find? They’re in the entire map, go to the house located in top left of the map (willipeg) and run down the river, you’ll find at least 10
