Lacan-Likbez S8E2 - "Resistance, fall and disgrace - female position in the Symbolic"

What concerns the position of woman that presumably provides her access to sexual satisfaction, culture is being guided by a loose layout that symbolically differentiates the appearance of decency from the obvious fall. Social and gender emancipation that demands total and unconditional abolition of restrictions imposed on women and interpret them as a product of male symbolic power, still rely on this layout regardless its roughness and grotesqueness. Psychoanalytic perspective proposes a different picture, where the aspects of female desire that include the fall and the defamation, are not associated with the male moral demand and outline the original structure of the relations of the female subject with her jouissance.
Lecture major themes:
Woman from the androcentric perspective: the concepts of ‘castitas' (chastity) and ‘pudor' (pudency). The dialectics of these two terms that leads to the emergence of male phantasm about prostitution and to the split of the male demand of jouissance, addressed to the woman.
Transformation of male sexual function in marriage: the father instance's prohibition of the products of primary boy’s sexuation and misogyny related with it. Marriage as an erasure of the boyish grimace of repulsion caused by woman’s usage of her body.
Reciprocal transformation of female sexual function in marriage: jouissance, extracted from the paradoxical discharge of the master-signifier that struggles to legitimize presumably obscene female function on symbolic level. Thus, allowing female subject, who employs the ambiguity of this signifier, to reconstruct repeatedly the scene of the fall and defamation in her relations with the man.
