    Peaches,
Thank you for actually asking the questions you were asking cause no one knows anything about security forces and the good side of things. SF is only known for how bad it is and that takes away from the hard chargers in TRF, DAGRE, RAVEN, 820th, and other units of the like.
To be able to apply for DAGRE, you really have to get lucky. Right duty station at the right time with the right rank, not in CDCs, not in trouble, no pending TDYs, cleared medically, and working shift on nights reduces your chances too. It’s SERIOUSLY challenging to get to the door to even shove your foot in it because our own leadership don’t know what DAGRE is. When we go to them asking to better our own careers with things like DAGRE, TRF, etc., 9/10 times, your leadership doesn’t even know those units exist so immediately in their mind is, “oh great, my manning document is going to be down 1 and if this person is high speed then that means I’m going to lose a high speed airman. NOPE! Package denied and it never reaches AMS because I already said no locally”.
THATS why there aren’t many people getting into these units because the attempt to go there gets denied and tied up before we can even express the intent to be a higher quality Airman.
I do propose an incentive though. I have a legit plan to incorporate SF Airmen into AFSOC but I need the right people to listen to my idea. It’s an idea that I’ve had in mind for 10 years and haven’t had the right leadership to bother listening. If you and the other Ones Ready personnel wouldn’t mind having a quick zoom with me or phone call, I’d be more than happy to share my idea with hopes that you guys can present it to your leadership as well as the Security Forces Center and merge needs of the Air Force with forward important targets and goals to meet.
There are good people in SF. We can’t show you that because the wrong leadership on our end is in place preventing a modern growth.
I have a fix, it benefits both SF and AFSOC, it a strategic change but a much needed update and I think it can really work.
If you’re interested in hearing me out, please comment back to me on this comment letting me know you’re interested and then I will message you directly on Instagram on the One Ready page because I don’t want to disclose my personal email and have a bunch of random people spamming me lol

Prior SP/LE... you are right; there are some great people in the career field and little opportunity without cross-training. Back in my day, at TAC HQ, we had our EST team. That was about the best thing E4's and E5's had going. It was something to work for both physically and mentally.
I will say this: it seems that in many ways, SF has grown since my day. You have better gear and from what I hear, better training than our old ABGD at Ft. Dix. I have mixed feelings about combining Security and Law Enforcement from SP into SF but that is way above my pay grade.
Good luck in your endeavors fellow Defender.

@@hankmardukus2805 doesn’t have to be special to appreciate the work. There are people that love being plumbers but to everyone else, being a plumber is considered “not a good job” when in reality, it is. If you love the work, it’s special to you and that’s what makes the right people in the right job. When passion and drive cross roads, and you’re on the X, that’s how you know you’re doing what you should be doing as far as work and loving what you do-regardless of the job. Dynamic jobs are fun and complex. It doesn’t always have to be “special operations” by definition to still have a good time, learn, meet great people, assist in providing an impact to the bigger picture, etc.

I have a positive comment to someone else who was TRF and you’re responding to me with bitterness about something else. I don’t care what anyone thinks but clearly at some point, AFSOC and SF cared to entertain a conversation and this is the product of that. So….again, not sure what you’re getting at but I wish you well and figure out whatever has you feeling the need to express yourself this way. Cheers, friend.

In 1990 the new general of usaf security police was a former combat controller, who saw a need to have specially trained sky cops to guard special ops aircraft and to augment special forces when needed. Thus was born the special ops cops at hurlburt field, Florida. I was flight chief in portugese azores, I had orders as tactical training instructor to 3rd combat communications group, tafb,ok. My k-9 troop and his bomb dog were asked to join the unit (he was a muscle guy). The units motto "we love the night life". He and his dog were offered airborne, and he was also offered ranger. Around 1992 he ended up in Somalia at the same time of "black hawk down".
