All of my guild members (including myself) suffer from velen just standing around afk all day long, even though online sources claim that he's supposed to be doing DPS, healing you and spawning some sort of sphere every now and then. Though even without that problem, unless velen's missing DPS would be enormously huge, it's still ridiculous due to the huge DPS requirement that no tank could ever fulfill...

Took two attempts. One in regular DPS gear (896), one in "progression" gear (897) with Prydaz and healing rain talent. Latter was the successful run. Was a lot of fun... but also incredibly stressful. That is a long ass fight with a lot of mini checks along with wipe mechanics. Irony, probably only using it until I unlock the dungeons skin this weekend, then switching to my Blackhand Doomhammer with Prestige 2 once I finish that tower grind. :x but will bounce back to it when I want to be ice rather than fire.
Kind of reminds me of M'uru and Firefighter Mimiron. Requiring very precise mechanical work while also having some consistent DPS checks throughout... for what eventually starts to feel like forever.
Yeah I literally cannot do this, even if I'm on the best of my game and I am following guides, either RNG fucks me or their massive damage does. I'm meant to save my defensive cooldowns for when I really need them, but they get used up in the first 2 minutes because they deal so much damage to me that my bubble automatically activates
- Hex has diminishing returns on her. You can only do it 3 times, the 2nd & 3rd being shorter, then she'll be immune for 30 seconds. After that you can start the chain of 3 over again.
Congrats on the kill, I'm almost there apart from 1-2 mistakes and bad rng or a massive lag spike, having your gear prob makes it a butt load easier though

sigryn never stays hexed for me, sometimes it just breaks and she's stood still for a moment. Sometimes it DR's heavy for no reason, or immune completely, and then she just turns into god damn illidan memerage and destroys my whole attempt in 1 attack. I make 100% sure I don't accidently cleave it off, I just watch it go off. It's the only thing stopping me atm, since that demon form bullies me :(
nevermind, just did it. With relative ease, too! I countered my hex problem by only hexing after the demon cast had finished and then just triple cleaved the lot down. Meh
its fucking ridiculous, at 931 ilvl u can get steamrolled. sig breaks out of hex so fucking easily (alwasy breaks first 1 in seconds) and the rune spam. one fail to hex and ur fucked. i tried for 2 months with no luck so im about to cancel subscription since BFA doesnt look very interesting to me.
Sorry for the late reply, but I've been having trouble with this for a couple weeks now. I'm 892 ilvl, (haven't gotten a gear upgrade for almost a month. yeah. rnjesus does not look favorably upon me) and can typically get the Jarl down to 30%-40% before the constant Dark Wings and/or Ancestor channel kill me. I have Prydaz and Sephuz (only two legendaries I've gotten in all my months of playing), though all Shamans I have seen beat this at around my ilvl have used Prydaz and Shaladrassil. So, basically, are there any tips beyond what you outline at the end of your video/description that you can give me? I have the 2-piece set bonus from Nighthold, but haven't been able to get any more set gear despite many runs. Would you say the 4-piece bonus is required? My biggest issue towards the "end" of the fight (that being around the 30% mark on Jarl's HP) is his back-to-back Ancestral Knowledge. I can't get him to move because he goes from one channel to the next, and the moment Sigryn pops out of Hex, she throws a spear at his feet, meaning I die quickly if I stand near enough to attack him. If I could guarantee more Stormbringer procs (which I'm super unlucky with like 90% of the time), I feel like I could burst him down in that situation without taking too much damage, but I feel like I'd require the 4-piece set bonus to do any better here. So, yeah, that's where I stand at the moment. Can get the Jarl down to about 30% hp on most attempts before the endless Ancestral Knowledge channels start coming, at which point Sigryn becomes a pain to hex again, starts throwing spears at the Runeseer's feet, and Dark Wing-ing constantly. Do you think I'd require the 4-piece set bonus or Shaladrassil in order to do this at my ilvl, do I just need to keep praying for some titanforge rng for better gear, or should I wait until Tomb comes out to be able to complete this within a reasonable timeframe? Surprised how little her valkyr charge hit you for. It took a whole day of attempts on my rogue to down this challenge because the valkyr would 1 shot me if I didn't dodge them. This was in 900 gear too. Thank god you can pop cloak of shadows to avoid the damage, but if cloak was on CD, that mechanic was super unforgiving, especially in the last 30% when the caster add was constantly casting empowered spells.
Not directly related to this challenge, but I am doing some research to prepare to try it this weekend: I currently have Akainu's for a legendary, and I just got 4-piece T19, and I can't decide if I should be using Hot Hand or Boulderfist, and whether I should switch things around to drop Hailstorm. The legendary items I have to choose from are Akainu's, Spirit Journey, Storm Tempest, and Sephuz. Thoughts?

Idk if the fight is bugged for me, or they changed how hex work on her, cuz i cant hex her out of the: Blood of the Father attack, i try before she casts it, while she casts it and after she cast it, nothing works
nvm im dumb, it was dr on the hex, after putting her in hex 2 times, i just waited and tanked her until the blood of the father attack would come, then it worked every time

Man this took forever to get on my main, Misoka-Stormrage-US Worst part was being punished by bad Stormstrike RNG and artifact being on CD, but i got lucky finally with the caster only doing shields after a time and Valkyrs not being summoned while the God-Queen was Hex'd

Its the diminishing return. Time your hex properly, since you can't always keep hex on her. After 2 consecutive hex, it won't work and you'll need to wait for 30 secs.
I'm having the same issue with hexes here. exception is that she goes permanently immune against hex for... well I'm about 2minutes of running like an idiot past her going immune, and she still is...
Ive done 20 of the 36 spec challenges so far and I still think this is the worst designed/most frustrating of them all. Its entirely random when stuff happens - and every ability can happen at once leading to a lose - lose - lose situation where the whirlwind is in the location thats safe from valkyr whilst sigryn is doing her blood of the father BS so u gotta make a choice, die to valkyr by ccing sigryn, die to whirlwind by getting sucked in or go around and MAYBE be able to cc sigryn in time
- Mage Towers are unlocked after you "complete" the 2nd step in the Artifact Weapon chain to unlock the Concordance of the Legionfall. Then you have a little story quest bit that is unique to (almost) all weapons. That leads you to the Mage Tower on the Broken Shore to tackle these solo events.
I recommend not goin for def leggy on this fight as a shaman! All u need it 900+ilvl and good dps for the shield self heal+rainfall+orbs is more then enough! I did it at 905ilvl with dps leggies and rainfall talent with 100%hp at the end!
This is so easy compared to a few others Ive watched, spam Hex and dodging the winged creatures were the only two difficult portions. Props on the skin just saying though.

at 4:55 , Sygrin is immun to this Frog when I do it... I alllways die because of the Fel spray that comes then...

your ilvl auto boosts to 1000 so doesn't really matter, however, I believe having higher Artifact level gives you higher boost on proc

- Yeah. Hex has PVP diminishing returns for this fight. Which is fine, but annoying.

can an 898 enhancement sham do it?
- Sure. Right around 900 is possible. But it'll be tight of course.
This Artifact Challenge is much more about control, and not just outright DPS.
