In Russia, 80% of the population is against this war, but what can we oppose to a police state with an almost totalitarian regime, the authorities do what they want, everyone who could have escaped, but this is a very small part of the percentage of the population, people at the front are not of their own free will, of course there are some crazy maniacs, but most are either military personnel just doing their job, either forcibly mobilized or ex-prisoners. In Ukraine, everything is even worse, millions of people in exile, to replenish the "cannon fodder" they grab guys from the street, they are already conscripting girls into the army. Of course, there is a way out, a revolution in both countries, but you would be the first to fight in such a scenario if you have a family, property, every resident of two warring countries asks himself the same question........and will it be better "after that"....... that's how we live
