    I started to mess with my last night because I wasn't getting any heat and I noticed that the top part was actually broken, I never saw anything fluid on the ground, but oh man that is the most difficult thing to take out. I never got to finish, I will have to buy the right clamp to remove the collaps of which in Amazon you can get one for about $20. That will be my little project for this weekend if it doesn't rain.

    I have the same issue, but when I let it sit overnight and it drops to around 40 degrees outside the next day heat works again. I have the valve, just finding the time to change it is an issue. This video gave some motivation to go ahead and get it done.

    I know this repair is a bit hectic but it really helps if you use pliers like these which allow you to get in tight places and clamp those clamps. These are just an example, kind of the same concept as a bicycle brake: Gearwrench Hose Clamp Cable Pliers

      Thanks, I appreciate the info/advice. Hopefully I will not have to do it again, but if I do, I’ll get them. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!!

      I have 2007 Mercedes s550, that has 174k miles. You would never know it though as the car has been completely restored by me. The previous owner did some work on it but i literally went the next level. I came upon your video as I had a coolant leak that after replacing the water pump, coolant reservoir, hoses, thermostat it was still leaking. Being from jersey it’s still cold and I went to turn on the heat and no hot air was blowing out of the vents. Of course the coolant light keeps turning on after I fill the reservoir up. It’s not losing a ton of coolant but I need to keep topping it off. Needless to say the change over valve was faulty and now I am back in business thank you.

    Hi did it work straight away or after a while?
    Because I changed mine and still no hot air do u know maybe where the fuse is for heater control valve thanks

    • @autodtails1
      @autodtails1  ปีที่แล้ว

      It did seem to work right away. My heat was cold. Once I changed it, it warmed up. I’m not sure where that particular fuse is. There is a dashboard fuse box,(located on the driver’s side and front passenger side),a fuse box in the rear(behind the armrest), and 2 fuse boxes in the engine compartment on the left and right. Good luck, and thanks for watching. I appreciate it!!
